I've been thinking... Hawke's death in DAI isn't worthy of the Champion of Kirkwall. It is undoubtedly heroic, but not glorious.

It's not like the Warden's sacrifice, who dies while taking down the main villain. Hell, Hawke doesn't even defeat that giant spider, but merely distracts it for a moment and then gets killed.

Considering that DA2 consisted of Hawke managing one colossal fuckup after another, that seems the perfect way for Hawke to go out. Everyone came to Hawke with their problems, including the Inquisitor, and Hawke fixed it, because that's what Hawke does.
