Are the asari supposed to be an aquatic species? I think your mistaking them for the hanar.  but no I don't think so. At least not exactly. Not rally sure what they are. Obviously Turians evolved from birds and Krogan are turtle like things. I think Salarians evolved from frogs/toads type creatures but I'm not too sure about Asari. Water based origins would make sense, it's been hinted at the have an almost Siren like quality in the way each races sees them differently. Ultimately I would think it's probably hard to tell because the protheans genetically altered them in their early stages of development. |

I wonder what kind of grease-smear Papa Ryder's nose would leave on a glass surface. Though by this time they'd be using transparent aluminum, I guess. Thanks for the images.
Does wet clay leave a grease-smear?
They all look like clay or wax figures to me. The more pixels Bioware throws at characters the less realistic they look. They hit their benchmark with ME3.

Graphics are looking good , characters look life like with the possibility of more added facial motions etc. The armour in pic 4 & 5 looks similar to the Cerberus armour in ME2 not that it is a bad thing  ! Plus theres Krogan !!! The Asari face markings look newish to me aswell unless anyone has seen simlar markings in ME1 - 3 . But yeah overall looking forward to this ! |

Any species with an identical body shape to humanity should have similar evolutionary origins. We look the way we do because humans evolved as long-distance runners who obtained prey by running it down to exhaustion on land. An info dump that had the Asari's recent evolutionary ancestors as aquatic would be up there with 'human genetic diversity' and 'blonde extinction' for lore than runs afoul of real world science. |
