As I'm not a terribly snobbish person about this (MRE and equivalent is a feast) I can't really tell. Took me a while to figure out what Sara even took with her from the Milky Way. Would like to think she will eventually try to make haggis out of whatever might be comparable in Andromeda. That would probably be an interesting thing. Pairing a traditional Scottish dish with Andromeda's foodstuffs. She IS trying to eat stuff throughout the game as it is. I forgot where in game but somewhere I found a data-pad note thing saying there were haggis-flavored rations in the AI or something like that, among other flavors there are definitely Scots represented in force in the AI

The ME2 guide doesn't claim there are same-sex relationships that then didn't appear in the game (or certainly not the edition I got in the UK). In the game, however, there are hints that Miranda and possibly Tali (in the emails at the end of the Lair of the Shadow Broker) could've been available to a FemShep. I've not played the game as BroShep (just didn't like Mark Meer's voice whereas Jennifer Hale is amazing!), so don't know if there's similar with m/m romances (I would assume so). First of all sorry it took so long for me to respond. Second of all, speaking of ME2 Prima guide, it's been 7 years so maybe I remembered something wrong but I was on old Bioware forum and I'm quite sure that right before the release of ME2 people were very hopeful because apparently there was a sentence about romances in Prima guide implying that some characters are only interested in opposite gender, but other are "more open", or something like that. I remember that some people on forum tried to downplay the whole mess by insisting that people behind the guide were simply mistaken because of Jack's confessions about threesome. IIRC datamining later showed that Jack and Tali had voice files recorded for f/f romance, and Thane for m/m, don't know if anyone else. The problem with the assumption that Suvi was intentionally written as someone 'in closet' is that it would only make sense if it eventually was made known to the player. When you play as a man you will get absolutely no clue she's anything but straight-by-default, so she provides absolutely no representation for us. Similarly when you play as a straight woman you will get no clue she's anything but straight. When you play a woman who's romancing her you will only get a clue she likes you, but you won't know if she likes women in general or what, you'll hear nothing implying she's a lesbian even when you're dating her. And because of this we have people here who try to appropriate her as bisexual or asexual. So once again, that's why I prefer to believe Sheryl was asked to write her as another romance option for Scott and now her bosses just force her to say untruth for damage control, instead of intentionally making the sole lesbian representation in this game completely invisible.

Jacob, for example, is only interested in a female Shepard, while Miranda is only romantic with a male Shepard. Some shipmates will consider a relationship regardless of gender.
Figured we may as well operate with what the book says rather than relying solely on memory.

That's the only part of the Fraternization and Loyalty section that talks about who is attracted to whom. Elsewhere in the book it mentions: You can have a love story with Kelly(no mention of who she is available to) Jacob being interested in female Shepard and Miranda being interested in male Shepard is mentioned again Garrus has a note saying "Now that Garrus is part of the crew, a female Shepard can flirt with Garrus, but a full-fledged romance is not possible." Jack has a note saying "It's possible for a male Shepard to have a fling with Jack, but this eliminates the possibility of a full romance with another crew member later." Thane has a note saying "Once Thane joins the crew, a female Shepard can pursue a romantic relationship with him."

Finished my Suvi playthrough and I can honestly say I enjoyed the hell out of it. I still think I like Peebee's romance more, but Suvi is just a kinds of adorable and charming. I'm starting my first Scott third playthrough now and it'll be interesting to see how she interacts with him compared to Sara. ETA: She got me my romance achievement so she'll always be special

Well my 3rd playthrough is done aka my Vetra playthrough so I have now played through all 3 f/f options and here is my rating for them 3. PeeBee- She seems to be a lot pf people's favorite but not mine. Don't get me wrong she is a fun character and the complete opposite of Liara but I just didn't care for her romance arc. 2. Vetra- Mostly cause I like Vetra's character all together, I love her relationship with Sid and the conversations you have with her. I was a bit shocked at how lacking her romance is but still enjoyed it more than PeeBee's. 1. Suvi- I can say without a doubt that Suvi is my favorite f/f romance in the game and its not even cause of my bias to her. Many say she has the least amount of content but she still has way more content than Traynor had in ME 3. Her romance arc was just filled with to much awkward cuteness that I can't hate anything about it, if you ask me her's and Sara's relationship has the most realistic progression out of all 3. From the first flirt, to the kiss after the final battle, to the email about adopting a puppy I was happy with this romance all together and think it had just the right amount of fluff and the best pacing. So in the end my canon romance for Sara Ryder is Suvi

Yeah, suuure. I guess the prima guide folks just have mad photoshopping skills or the dev team didn't get the memo*. The rejection was handled poorly. She should have just said 'not interested'. 'Professional' would mean professional and we wouldn't have to listen to her boring faith stuff. Sheryl might have envisioned her as an l-word but the way she's presented in the game just makes her not clarified/Sarasexual. Anyway the only reason I'd want her is because she looks cute. She doesn't have a sense of humor (remnant parties? nothing? cmon... ) and since that's a dealbreaker she's not a great loss. I'm glad that it wasn't Vetra who got sacrificed on the altar of representation. *I think that 'romance scene' with Scott was indeed in the game and prima's guide is accurate but the two together led to a "aargh, *panic!*, cut it, cut it!". That should have stayed in the game because it would have been the spending time together scene. Every other crewmember (-Kallo, the frog need one too) has a scene like this which can result in a romance lock or a simple friendly time. But thanks to laziness, lack off resource/interest it ended up as the 'sex scene' instead.

Well I've been lurking for a while now, I was on the old BSN and finally joined. My thoughts on Suvi. Suvi is right down my alley, her looks, voice and being a nerd but the lack of content kind of made the romance less than it should have been for me. The lack of emotion in the romance wasn't a positive either, of course that is something that I want in a romance so that's personal preference. Must admit that I enjoyed Peebee's romance much more. I've started the romance again to see if my first thoughts were affected by the lack of content.
The controversy about her sexuality is frustrating, I think I know why they had her say let's keep it professional. They remember how pissed some people were about Traynor and Sera, so they tried to make the turn down as inoffensive as possible but they didn't think of or care about the shitstorm that would happen by making her less than open about her sexuality. When you have to verify that a character is lesbian on twitter, well that's a fuckup.
Two other things bothered me both in the epilogue, when you talk to Suvi and ask if she needs a hug, her response was meant to show embarrassment at showing public affection, I think but it was too close to feeling like the closet for me. I don't like thinking of the fucking closet ever again. The second thing was right before going back to the Tempest, when the companions gather around and they couldn't have been bothered to have the rest of the crew there. It especially pissed me off because Peebee got a really nice romance moment there. Well I guess that's all of my complaints for now. Lol

Lol Yup manly her problems lie in lack of content/design/polishedanimations. I still need to get around to do her romance but both Peebee and Vetra are hard to resist. Also Suvi being more reserved would had been fine but after the prima guide things got complicated real fast. Which is sad since I do believe in her writer but she cannot control what other departments do.

Suvi loves rawing Sara in the captain's suite after a good workout because seeing Sara all sweaty gets her a little turned on. Suvi loves relaxing with Sarah in the captain's suite after a good workout because seeing Sarah all sweaty gets her pondering on platonic science. Suvi loves to talk about sex pheromones in bed, which is Sara's turn-on. They're both such science nerds that they've memorized a ton of science-based pick-up lines and dirty talk.

You know this is totally shallow but I imagine that would have liked Suvi's romance a lot more if it turned out that she was a total sex fiend that constantly made Sera or IB level puns and asides about banging Sara.
Peebee doing all that was predictable but if halfway through the romance Suvi started being super blatant and raunchy that would have been a welcome surprise.
Would probably piss off a certain someone though.
