Yup agreed, Shep was a Vet, she's seen some action, Hale was far too smooth, couldn't really RP socially awkward with her whereas Sara is young, she's green, and Fryda's voice is much more upbeat. It will fit this time round, if you want to do a fRyder this way.

From what I've heard so far, seems like Fryda did an excellent job, but I'm gonna miss Hale like crazy. That woman's voice is amazing

Leliana accent always sounded genuine to me because in my younger years a lot of families that were immigrants in France, come back in the summer and I was used to that level of mix of languages already. Also Zevran sounds like Antonio Banderas not really a genuine accent from the many dialects that Spain/Italia has. The best one so far was Josephine accent really. Either way the best way is to cast people from those countries or at least with ancestries of those countries.

I am also hoping Suvi talks in Gaelic when mad or something, that would be fun.

When it comes to non-native speakers of a language, there's always a spectrum of accents from those who struggle form natural-sounding sentences or to pronounce anything differently to the way it's done in their own language, to those who are practically indistinguishable from a native. Where people lie on that spectrum depends partly on how much they practice, partly on their facility with accents and partly with the amount of exposure to native speakers that they've had (including the accent that those native speakers themselves have).

To me, fake accents usually sound like a parody of someone on the heavily accented end of that spectrum mixed with bits of native pronunciation that the native speaker inadvertently uses. The "native” bits are often not the same as those that get absorbed naturally by a learner, so you can quite easily tell the difference.

Also fake accents often feature pronunciation of words in a ”foreign” way that doesn't accurately map to how speakers with the supposed accent would actually pronounce that word. Mother Giselle in DAI is particularly guilty of that.

I'm just pretty glad I braced myself for this inevitability with some time. I'm still consumed with salt rn tho. How tragic, Cora could have broken that tired and predictable chain. What a waste.

Well, good thing I'm not bothered by playing opposite gender MC so I'll romance Suvi regardless if she's lesbian or bi (though considering Cora is confirmed as straight now, I can't really see Suvi being anything other than lesbian) and also get to experiance Cora

I think if we shove technical issues like animations aside, then the most annyoing thing about the game right now for me is the fact that once again one squad spot is being wasted by the worst possible character type ever aka quirky annyoing little shit that won't make a single step on my ship if I will have any say in it. First Sera, now Peebee, seriously wtf BioWare. I'd rather have a blank state D&D henchman than her, because they'd at least follow my orders.

Where did you see this confirmation? It's not in the Cora thread...

i always told myself that cora would be straight because bioware is bioware, all starting human companions must be straight, and all f/f romance options must be totally femme because we need to stop those silly lesbians from stereotyping themselves. an f/f romance option with an undercut? god forbid! but i seem to recall someone asking a dev if cora is bi, and he replied "you'll see~" or something similar? am i mis-remembering? because if i'm not, that type of teasing is just cruel. :/

anyway, i'm still Ryding riding the high of hearing suvi's lovely voice yesterday. save us suvi!!

Blergh, wtf couldn't they just announce the bloody options like they've always done? This marketing campaign is terribad, except for the Andromeda Initiative briefings, really liked them.
