Why do you thing that? I am asking honestly. Most of the participants liking the insulting posts gaycaravaggio made as well as all the sex talk. I worry this is merely a taste of what is to come. You really cannot fault people for liking sex or enjoying making jokes on that but I do understand why it would be seen as insensitive. I do not think anyone in this topic wants you to feel bad about asexuality either, it is just... there are some really nasty implications with having a lesbian disliking sex, it is better to have a full flesh out asexual character to me than making an half attempt to mash together lesbians and asexuals. And since there is nothing confirm by the devs Suvi could be very well be asexual and not a lesbian. I think most of all people want to be hyped about a character they can relate on some level, it is really nothing personal I think. Just let it flow, I still think you will be having something like Josephine on ME:A and there is a high change for a companion. I doubt they are all about sexytimes.

I feel a bit called out so I'm gonna respond seriously real quick. I genuinely hope you get at least one asexual romance, mate. If Suvi's is left ambiguous, I'd be perfectly content with that. But expecting a bunch of gay women to not talk about sex at all is just unrealistic.

It was more the former thing I mentioned than the latter. I was hoping this place would be open to both sides of conversation about that, but already there are buzz words being used to discredit a side. What implications are you referring to? I think she'd still be a lesbian, just like Solas was still straight. There's not going to be a full asexual/demisexual/grey-A character. Even the Dragon Age team doesn't want to go that far yet. They are only willing to go as far as having nonsexual/ambiguous romances with the occassional dev saying it is perfectly valid to see their character as those orientations. While I am sure that there will be characters like that, I'm almost just as sure it won't be a companion or maybe even a crewmember due to the various leaks. More likely it will be like Kelly, which while I love her character and how the writer made it ambiguous she definitely wasn't good representation for the ace spectrum and got barely any content.

But many of us here do want the other side of the coin, a fully fleshed out f/f romance with all the trimmings and yes that includes a love scene.

I wish that was a possible option, but it seems it is not.

The lesbian scenes they gave us in ME3 were made for straight males. On the other hand they actually showed a bit for care for gay romances. There was Kaidan obviously. And Steve had way more content. So Suvi's romance better damn right be epic and fleshed out.

Yeah for a studio that likes to talk about having options that are organic and 'make sense', they sure have the same pattern over and over again. Straight dudes will get basically everyone of importance, lesbians won't get the human squadmate who has to remain pure and gayless, gay dudes will get the least options if you, of course, forget about asexuals which the ME team def does. Isn't it intriguing?
Personally, I've given up on hoping things would change after Cass. Now I just make pervy jokes and try to makethe best of what I do get.
and also plan on doing a lesbian dating sim with only milfy ladies cause I ain't gonna play it otherwise apparently

Can I just say that as a straight male I also found that shower scene cringe-worthy. I do know what you mean though. It was clearly designed with an element of "phwoar, check out the hot chicks in the shower" in mind. The ridiculous underwear meant that I'd didn't even work on that level though. It was a failure on every level, which is made yet worse when you compare it to the care put into Liara's love scene.

I remember Patrick Weekes saying the Samantha shower scene was originally going to have her naked but covered with steam but it kept crashing the game and with not enough time to fix it they had to go with the underwear model since the 'nude' models actually didn't have nudity, lacking nipples and private parts.

That might well have worked. It might not even have been so male-gazey depending on how they shot it. The compromise failed abysmally though.

I really hope gaycaravaggio her leak turns out to be false in regards to a straight Jaal. So far, all of her intel has been correct. Like, at least we have squadmate options in Peebee and Vetra seems likely too, although I would have thrown em both under the bus for Cora in a heartbeat personally. The m/m crowd could potentially get nothing, only NPCs to woo. That is some real real regressive BS right there. I don't see any reason why Jaal can't be Bi, just like I saw no reason why our starting human companions couldn't be bi for a change of pace too. But oops, has to make sense to the character™, silly me. I really hope Bioware won't do this to our m/m players, it's completely unfair. I don't oppose pervy jokes here friend, shitpost to your hearts content.

hypothetical question stolen from l2sentinel over at the gil thread:
if there were more lesbian options than straight options, and they all had DA:I adviser quality romances, would that make up for the fact that there weren't any f/f options in the squad?
i do know we have at least one guaranteed f/f squadmate, peebee, but several ladies have said they're not too interested in romancing an asari again, at least not on the first playthrough. personally, i'd still prefer an f/f squadmate i think, just because it's so fun taking your gf everywhere with you. but it does't mean i wouldn't enjoy a really well fleshed-out crewmate romance, which i something i hope they'll provide for us in suvi the scottish bae.

If the romance is good then being a squadmate or not doesnt bother me. In DAI I enjoyed Josie's romance because it was kind of like... I was off adventuring with my friends but then I had a love interest to go home to. But in Mass Effect I did like taking Liara on adventures. So I don't prefer squad over crew.. but I like them both the same for different reasons so I would be ok with it as long as the romance itself was good.

No. I'll always prefer having a squadmate LI, this will be the first time in a ME game where I'm opting to pick a crewmate over a squadmate romance on my first run because I'm not that keen on Vetra or having to go Asari (Peebee) again. I really really wanted Cora. :sob: I just hope all their big talk about how they've improved on their NPCs will prove to be worth it. I'd be happy if it equals Cullen's content or surpasses it. A squadmate LI will always be my preferred choice, love bringing the bae around with you, watching each others backs, hearing what they have to say about this and that out on the battlefield, forging a stronger bond in combat, just, it feels more fleshed out, more alive. We also get loyalty missions, which adds a new layers to our companions, and usually, a squadmate would take some time to warm to you, they'd be cautious/guarded at first, you'll have to work for it. Just more fun, more immersive imo. I heard the crew can interact with us more on the Tempest, they won't be as static as Cortez/Sam were, they'll have more of a presence on the ship. They won't have any loyalty missions tho. I heard with Suvi that she seems to fall kinda hard for fRyder after some flirting, I hope that isn't the case. That the reviewer cut out alot in that article to avoid spoilers cos, come on, lesbians like slow burn romances too, Suvi can't be that desperate to get laid. Make us work for her affection.

I didn't see the original question in Gil thread, but is a big no from me. I loved Cullen romance, but like you said taking your lover in the field, living the adventure with her/him is what makes a companion/squadmate LI great. It's not only a bunch of love scenes, it's about knowing the character mission to mission, evolving with her/him, you know the small things. Since asari are not bi/lesbians because they are monogender bullshit™, with others in the squad being straight only would confirm how unimportant we are to the devs.

It's not only a bunch of love scenes, it's about knowing the character mission to mission, evolving with her/him, you know the small things. Since asari are not bi/lesbians because they are monogender bullshit™, with others in the squad being straight only would confirm how unimportant we are to the devs. He's right you know, that point on the Asari isn't off. Really hope Bioware aren't suicidal enough to not give m/m players any squadmate option. :srs:

If the romance is good then being a squadmate or not doesnt bother me. In DAI I enjoyed Josie's romance because it was kind of like... I was off adventuring with my friends but then I had a love interest to go home to. But in Mass Effect I did like taking Liara on adventures. So I don't prefer squad over crew.. but I like them both the same for different reasons so I would be ok with it as long as the romance itself was good. yeah, i hear you. taking your LI with you on missions makes it extremely fun, but a quality crewmate romance could still make me happy. i just want good content.
