Like VanguardianOfInfintiy pointed out I'm not a fan of Origin ( and it requires internet connection for use - which is a bit unstable atm at my home) That's not true. You can run Origin even when disconnected from the internet entirely. Your login and password are stored locally in your registry. okay interesting because everytime I try to login on origin into offline mode it says it can't because there is no internet connection (which is very confusing given that in offline mode an internet connection shouldn't be required). So I login with my data but I don't have access to my game library. I read in the EA forums that there is not a real offline mode for origin because most ea games need an internet connection for access (not just activation). Don't know why I can't even access any games I have in offline mode. Maybe my client is bugged?

I posted this here but I'll repeat it- 'Unfortunately, everything I've seen of ME:A so far makes it look like 'an action game with "RPG elements" (some selectable dialogue and an inventory)'. I want to be wrong.' A third-person shooter is not what I want from the ME franchise and that's what this looks like. So I'm on the fence until I can see some spoiler-free reviews.

It has to be some bug, probably some leftover corrupted files that weren't deleted after some updates.

I like to wait until after release as a general rule... just in case there are game-breaking bugs. I'd rather give the developer some time to make that first patch or two available. I hate buying a game and then having to wait for a patch to be able to actually play it.

No rush. Will wait for reviews and inevitable price drop. While I'd prefer PC version I may go with PS4 to avoid Origin; to me, Origin is just a clunky DRM with a bunch of advertising stuck in my face.
Didn't get much replay value out of ME3 (mostly because of ending); ME3 MP made up for the loss of replay, except for the RNG.
Still the overall arc of the Mass Effect series and DLC was impressive and I hope it might well be continued and extended with Andromeda. If I keep my expectancies low, I won't be disappointed.
Didn't get much replay value out of DA:I either and didn't bother with MP.
BioWare have had a good record of creativity and creative staff. The old BioWare supported mods. However, EA does not support mods, so I'm leaning a lot more towards Bethesda now for replay value in games.

Therefore, here is the question I have: The people who are on the fence about purchasing Mass Effect: Andromeda, why are you unsure at the moment and what could Bioware/EA show that would change your mind or assuage your fears? Or are you just waiting to see the "Let's Plays" and reviews before purchasing as a rule? Why am I unsure? 1) The abomination that is ME3 2) This miraculous "ODSY drive" which can traverse galaxies but was never used to explore THIS galaxy 3) The miraculous Autobot Implant that lets Ryder be anything and lets an AI have control of his/her biological functions (no way THAT can go horribly wrong, amirite?) 4) The apparent fact that the AI is a Great Hipster Migration because the Milky Way is SOOOOOO Mainstream. 5) Three power limit (But you can TOTALLY switch your loadout on the fly with no problem. Trust us) What can assuage the fears? 1) Disavow ME3. Make it noncanon 2) Come up with some kind of logical reason why there was no huge colonization wave in the Milky Way with the discovery of the ODSY 3) Sheesh, I dunno. Give it some serious drawbacks? Make it something that's actually controversial in the story and not just an excuse to "streamline" the game? 4) A reason beyond "Because it's there" to explore a new galaxy when the Milky Way is still 99% unexplored itself. 5) A really freaking good gameplay video that addresses this

Well ...
Not really ... but I've been looking for an excuse to use that image.
So far, hopeful that the story will be worth multiple replays ... both Ryders, various classes (yes, I know there are no fixed classes).
But, even if the story stinks and I'm soured on BioWare RPGs (I don't think this will be the case), it sounds like MEAMP will be on par with ME3MP ...
So far that alone, I will get the game ...
And if the story turns out to be compelling ... which I expect ... then I will be very pleased, indeed.
Preorder: Confirmed.

For those worried BioWare has lost their way, think about the fact that this was almost 10 years ago But since then they've produced Mass Effect 2, DA2, ME3, DA:I. But Joel (MEA Art dude) was lead artist on the Sonic Game xD

I'm on the Fence but am someone who pre-ordered DA2, DAI, and ME3. I also completed DAO/Awakening, ME, and ME2. I discovered BioWare pretty late - in 2010 due to random articles about its romance systems.
Why I'm on the fence: There seemed to be a lot of internal turnover and disruption during this game's development and I'm honestly uncertain how this game will turn out. I'm also waiting on reviews because while I loved cinematic, story-centric games (ME3 being my absolute favorite), DAI was a huge time-sink and felt like a mediocre single-player MMO. This is not an experience I'd want to repeat, at least not at full price. Given that games now go on sale shortly after release, I prefer to wait on this one.
I had been on the fence about DAI also but ultimately pre-ordered due to the presence of characters like Leliana, Cullen, and Varric. I was also intrigued by characters who made brief appearances like Cassandra, and was curious about Dorian and Sera.
ME:A lacks this for me - I'm not particularly excited about any of the cast and obviously have no prior attachments since they are all new. I'm not even sure who the romances are going to be for me (M/M) and this is also a big selling point for BioWare games for me. Without any "must-have" preorder exclusives, I feel no need to pre-order at this time.
TL/DR
- Waiting on reviews to see if this is really DAI in space. - Waiting on spoilers about who is M/M romance options. - No Compelling Pre-Order content. - Games go on sale very quickly these days.

I know there are a lot of different threads on here with many different opinions. I could try to look through them to determine the answer to this question, however I think it might be beneficial to have a less debate-y thread and instead just have everyone's own personal opinions. I know it's difficult, but can we please not debate people's points for at least the first few pages (if this thread makes it that far)? It's a lot to ask, but I'd just like answers to the question at hand first. Thanks! Lower prices for starters. For now I see nothing justifying $100 price for Deluxe Edition. 60% increase in price - for what? Why? To be in par with console prices? I am not excited enough about the game to put up with that. If youtube proves me wrong lately I might buy it for that ridiculous price, but most likely I'll wait till first sale.

I'm still a bit on the fence if I will buy it at a release, or wait half a year for the price to drop. Waiting would come with a bonus of patches and possible DLC released. SWTOR will get an update at April and I was thinking getting 60 days of sub for that, and if I do that, then MEA has to wait. On the other hand, state of SWTOR is so abysmal that giving that game even a cent anymore would make me feel like gambling addict with a Stockholm Syndrome, so maybe not. So, I'm not so worried about the bugs, gameplay etc. Me fencing is mostly a personal matter. And here is the truth: It is on the shoulders of Jaal. If they tell that he is LI for male-Ryder too:

I would not be buying it right now if it were only SP - I played the hell out of ME3MP and what we've seen of MP for this one looks as though it's going to be fun so I'm in. Still not entirely convinced about the combat but for fun throwaway games in MP that matters less.

I think I'm skeptical of MP because... DA:I. They've rebuilt every mechanic from scratch, maybe reused a few animations, but we can't just assume the MP will be an upgrade to ME3's MP mechanically or in terms of gunplay or balance or even modes. It's definitely comforting Montreal is making the game but I worry because they made ME3MP on top of a game that was primarily made by BW Edmonton. This time they're making an MP mode to a single player they're directing themselves. I'm just slightly skeptical about how that works out. I don't think the little pre-order trailer footage looked too hot but it's also not much to go on.

I really burnt my fingers with prepurchases of games like Battleborn, Lol Men's Sky & Dishonored 2 etc. where the devs lied the hell out of the games and were frankly quite unsupportive with technical problem issues. At least that was my personal experience. So I stopped supporting this kind of buisness overall. You can say that I just want to wait and see how everything will play out, patiently. Can I ask what your issue was with Dishonored 2? Was it the PC port? Just asking because I've really enjoyed it, but I'm on XBone. Wondering if I have bad things to look forward to.

I want to thank everyone for the fantastic responses so far! You have all given me a lot to think about, and for the people who were "instabuy" or "never buy", I think it has potentially given good insight to them as well as to why people might have trepidation about the new game.
Thank you also for this having been very non-adversarial.

I played the PC Port of Dishonored 2 and I had really big issues with the framerates. To the point that I got stuck in the tutorial maps and the starting city. So I had to refund it (after trying out several patches they released that didn't help either and especially amd players like myself got helpfull phrases like "Then buy another Pc or parts for the pc. It is amd, what do you even want?" Very helpfull - from the community & developers both. These are the times where Steam is not the best place to be I think. Overall I really wanted to play the game (loved the first part and the second looked awesome storywise and from the skill mechanics. And with Emily there was a female protagonist as well. I was really disappointed and kind of sad.) Edit: They confirmed that their engine was more suitable for consoles and to this day the game is a 50/50 % chance if it will run without issues or stutter like a hamster with hiccups. There are Pc Systems that run the game well, but a huge part waits to this day for a solution. It differs extremely even between players that have same systems.

1) I don't know if I'm sold on the combat and gameplay. Hard to say if I like what we've seen. I kinda keep going back and forth.
2) I want to know that this isn't going to be a boring slog like DAI with Mass Effect paint all over it. Until there are proper mission demos and non-Bioware/gaming site people playing I won't have an answer.
3) I know how hard they've been working the dev team since August which I don't know if is a good thing for the state of the game.
4) I have concerns about the story telling and general tone of the game. It fell off a cliff for me between DA2 and DAI, and Mac Walters' comics are just this side of toilet paper.
edited in one more: 5) The amount of similar promises I'm seeing to features/decisions that were supposed to be in DAI is concerning. A bunch of stuff wasn't in the game at release and either slowly came out over a years worth of patches or not at all.

I don't understand this. Hasn't this been the case with the series since ME2?

I know there are a lot of different threads on here with many different opinions. I could try to look through them to determine the answer to this question, however I think it might be beneficial to have a less debate-y thread and instead just have everyone's own personal opinions. I know it's difficult, but can we please not debate people's points for at least the first few pages (if this thread makes it that far)? It's a lot to ask, but I'd just like answers to the question at hand first. Thanks! ,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸
Not difficult at all. My DA:I experience and pre-launch marketing speak for me.

Not on the fence. they had me at 'hello'... I'm not on the fence for similar reasons. They just make that big mac look so fucking delicious.
