I know there are a lot of different threads on here with many different opinions. I could try to look through them to determine the answer to this question, however I think it might be beneficial to have a less debate-y thread and instead just have everyone's own personal opinions.
Therefore, here is the question I have: The people who are on the fence about purchasing Mass Effect: Andromeda, why are you unsure at the moment and what could Bioware/EA show that would change your mind or assuage your fears? Or are you just waiting to see the "Let's Plays" and reviews before purchasing as a rule?
I know it's difficult, but can we please not debate people's points for at least the first few pages (if this thread makes it that far)? It's a lot to ask, but I'd just like answers to the question at hand first. Thanks!

I was on the fence too but when they drop the 30% discount I did not resist taking it, otherwise I would had waited till they reveal the CC and LIs.
Which means my final decision would be in early access or after day one but if one of those things sucked hard, I probably would had waited again for some discount to play it just for the story.

I am not on the fence....there are just something I consider kinda dumb and I know Bioware is not going to publicly defend their choices (as 99.9% of devs) and I really want to know about a few minute details that I need to settle on a playstyle and get mentally ready for it

I have decided not to buy on launch date and I'm waiting for full game impressions that don't spoil the story.
I may purchase it and play multiplayer while I wait - it's not really a decision I'm making based on whether I want to "support EA" or not as i think whatever problems BioWare's had or are having since ME3 (where I thought they disappointed me) is far beyond any EA-higher-up problem and more to do with BioWare's internal management and priorities.
My reasons are: A) I do not wish to play a game that has obvious bugs in plain sight on a frequent basis. DA:I was such a game for well over half a year and that's not good enough. There are still obvious programming problems left in the game (like how the quest log plays a sound every. time. you. talk. to. someone!) B.) If I don't care, I don't care. I've sometimes tried playing a game in a series I was excited about because of story, like Ace Attorney, only to realize I was bored and disappointed out of my mind even halfway into it. Playing ME3 after being really fucking hyped after ME2, I had this annoying, straining, 'forcing myself to play' feeling because I truly did not like large parts of that game. I've since then accepted it and found ways to enjoy it but it doesn't go on my list of top-tier games that I liked playing initially and I think the game has serious flaws from start to finish. C) If the story is a broken mess, perhaps due to BioWare/Mac Walters not realizing its faults since their plot-writer Schlerf left, chances are fans will point out the mistakes and the game is going to be patched up with DLC story packs later in 2017. If there is an Extended Cut + Leviathan deal this time, I wanna play after that has been made and not before so the magic is dispelled forever.
ME3 and DA:I told me that BioWare needs their fanbase to babysit them in order to make a complete product well after launch. I wanna play ME:A when it's complete. Not when it's obviously lacking extra writing passes and story features that lack resolution or context.

I am on the fence still. Even after the gameplay trailer. I like the lore behind ME and that is the only reason I'm still thinking about purchasing this game. I don't however like EAware obliviousness towards the lore. Each trailer they release seems to disregard the established lore more and more. I'm really looking forward to them explaining how these new races are able to understand the races from the MW. But knowing EAware they'll just sum it up to "They just can" even though there is lore behind how the species from the MW understand each other. The gameplay trailer just made me roll my eyes. Yes the gameplay looked good, but this notion of Ryder being able to switch powers on the fly is dumb. Call me old fashion, but I liked the classes and restrictions of weapons that ME2 had. It added more replay value. The best thing I've seen so far is they made ammo powers weapon mods again. Other than that I've yet to see anything to be excited over. I'm going to wait for the reviews to drop for this one, or maybe hope for smudboy to do a game analysis on this one to save me the money of purchasing it all together.

They're giving some explanation as to why Ryder can switch between classes, considering Andromeda is a new story I'm not sure your complaints about lore are fair.

I'm waiting for when they show a decent length uncut footage of their game. So far it's just been jump cuts that I could barely keep up with to the point I had to pause during most of their videos. I just want to know how the game is truly going to feel before dumping 60-70 dollars on release and the 10hr early access being behind a paywall is not helping build consumer confidence either...
Less than 30 days left and they still are witholding even the most basic aspects of their game. It's just bad, distasteful, and illogical at this point... Hoping for some lengthy uncut footage within a week or so.

In my opinion more likely than not it probably comes down to the fact that those on the fence were scarred by the way the original trilogy went in conclusion and just not wanting to be scarred the same way again. There are other possibilities: - Those who wait for reviewers/critics responses as to whether or not it is good and decide from that - most critics/reviewers admonish games I like so... since they don't care I don't care.
- Some who worry that it will be DA:I in space or those concerned that it will be too much like F4.
- Also there are those who like to watch some gameplay and story done by others before deciding if they will play it.
- There are others who like myself just hate the stupid origin crap and will wait till they can get a physical copy.
- There may also be some who try to save their excess money from month to month to be able to purchase the collectors edition.

My fears would be gone if certain game reviewers whose opinion I do value give me an honest and positive review. BioWare made me impervious to company tribalism.

I'm still on the fence because
A) I really don't know if my PC can handle the game (so I need more input on system requirements. I can't afford to buy better PC pieces atm just for one game) B ) Like VanguardianOfInfintiy pointed out I'm not a fan of Origin (and it requires internet connection for use - which is a bit unstable atm at my home) C) + I really have the feeling to get a mix of DA:I meets Fallout 4 in space (I liked the games to a certain point, but overall they were more like 'meh'-games for me) D) I really burnt my fingers with prepurchases of games like Battleborn, Lol Men's Sky & Dishonored 2 etc. where the devs lied the hell out of the games and were frankly quite unsupportive with technical problem issues. At least that was my personal experience. So I stopped supporting this kind of buisness overall.
You can say that I just want to wait and see how everything will play out, patiently.

Sure, I can explain.
I generally buy games after the first week or so after release. That way major bugs are caught and if the title is bad I save myself from wasting my time. I've only ever preordered one game: Bloodborne, and that was because its director, Miyazaki, never let me down. If Miyazaki releases a lousy game with his name on it, I won't preorder again, fairly straightforward.
ME games have been fairly uneven in terms of:
1. overarching narrative (strong in first game, falling apart in ME2 and ME3), and 2. characters (strong in all 3, somewhat weaker in 3rd), and 3. combat (increasing getting better overall)
It looks like 3 will improve once again, but as for 1 and 2, I have no idea. So I might as well wait.

Probably buy it, the first AAA game i buy at release in 5 years the other one was Mass Effect 3 Collector Edition in 2012.
I can already get Resident Evil 7 for 45 USD, and retailer in Sweden is selling ME:A standard version for 50 USD, i don't need 100000000 extra skins or extra booster packs for MP.

I am still on the fence.
The gameplay video was fast and furious but meant little without context. Good editing can hide a lot of the bad. DA:I was for me a "never mind the quality feel the width" experience. ME3 took away control of my Shepards, gave them emotions I didn't feel (Meer was better than Hale in this respect). If this is the way Bioware wants to go with the Ryder's in Andromeda then I might as well be watching an interactive movie because it won't be an RPG, no matter how much crafting and naming of weapons you can do!
I live in the U.K. and so the reports from early access players and people who get the game earlier than we do will be helpful in making a decision.

Honestly?
Because I'm still very wary since ME3 marketing. So much lies and broken promises.
MEA has very low marketing so far though and are not trying to overhype the game, but still. I was fooled once, I ain't getting fooled again.
By Bioware... I still got fooled later by Creative Assembly with Rome 2. But ain't getting fooled 3rd time!

I'm not on the fence nearly as much anymore. I preordered the game a while back, even though I had doubts about the game, cause it's a ME game and I like to complete my collection no matter what. I was worried about the mp part, the combat and then the romances too but the last trailer which showed me the combat really put my mind at ease, at least regarding the combat and the previous ones a little bit regarding the romances. I'm very excited about this game and this even though little doubts still creep in the back of my mind of whether it will be good or not, cause again, it's a ME game

They're giving some explanation as to why Ryder can switch between classes, considering Andromeda is a new story I'm not sure your complaints about lore are fair. I'm not concerned about how Ryder switches classes. I know they said they'll explain that. The issue is I think it's dumb, period. Also I think my complaints are fair. It doesn't make sense these new species can instantly understand races they haven't even seen before. Just because it's a new story doesn't mean they should throw out everything that has been established. It's still ME.

Although I am likely to still pre-order, I'm also hesitate considering the numerous empty promises from the original trilogy. It doesn't help any how BioWare reacted to such criticism, though a vast majority of that team is long since gone. One final point of contention is the focus on more abstract characters for diversity's sake. We saw this most notably in DA:I with Sera, Cole and a few others. Granted, unlike the Dragon Age series, Mass Effect has been fairly consistent with stellar characters-- Jacob notwithstanding.

Like VanguardianOfInfintiy pointed out I'm not a fan of Origin ( and it requires internet connection for use - which is a bit unstable atm at my home) That's not true. You can run Origin even when disconnected from the internet entirely. Your login and password are stored locally in your registry.

I was on the fence until the gameplay trailer part #1. Even if the story is crap or if there is a lots of bugs, I know I'm going to spend a good 30-40 hours just doing hilarious things with pull, throw and all the other abilities, along with driving the Nomad into things. I'm buying this for the same reasons I buy the Saint-Rows games.

I've been cautiously optimistic about this game for a while, but the gameplay trailer is really starting to sell the game for me. I'm at the point where I'll definitely buy the game. The question is which version?

I never have to be on the fence.
I pre-order it for $47.99 on Amazon. When it releases I see what people are saying about it. If I like what I see and hear I'll removed the plastic. If I don't, I ship it back within the 30 day period and get a refund.
No risk. No worries.
