I'm only on the fence about which platform to get the game for; PC, PS4 Pro, or XBOX ONE S.
-I want to get it for PC just in case there are some terrible design decisions that the community needs to fix with mods.
-I want to get it for PS4 Pro because this looks like a game that was made for consoles (the pc port could be a glitched mess).
-I want to get it for XBOX ONE S because I played the original trilogy on XBOX and I prefer Microsofts' online interface and media-apps over Sony's.
I have a feeling that I'm going to be on the fence about this right up until release night.

The only aspect i was worried about initially was when i heard the Bioware team itself was just losing team members left and right. I also had some concerns about the story itself. I feel like this game will be a bit watered down compared to the trilogy and i'm not bothered by that because really, how do you top the storyline of the Reapers?
So it's actually time for a cool down period, but that does not mean they cannot tell a compelling story. The overall game itself looks great...minus the minor nit-picking concerning character models, i think Bioware will deliver in terms of story and overall gameplay mechanics.

Truthfully I was on the fence because of how badly the aftermath was handled. Complete radio silence. Massive breakdown in communication on both sides. I never shot the starkid, but I understood why it was cathartic for some. Patching it so that it became an instant game over? That was an unnecessary middle finger. It made me wonder if that attitude would carry over into Andromeda.
What changed? Well, the years going by, for one. The change in staff. Interviews coming out again. A few acknowledgements that some mistakes were made and lessons would be carried forward. The fact that this game is far, far removed from the trilogy. I was going to wait on reviews, but I have female friends who I enjoy gaming with over the past decade and they wanted to play Andromeda at launch so I ended up preordering for social reasons.

Patching it so that it became an instant game over? That was an unnecessary middle finger. It was a perfectly appropriate response, given how many of the anti-ending sociopaths expressed their desire to shoot the developers because they didn't get the perfect consequence-free outcome they wanted.

I am on the fence still. Even after the gameplay trailer. I like the lore behind ME and that is the only reason I'm still thinking about purchasing this game. I don't however like EAware obliviousness towards the lore. Each trailer they release seems to disregard the established lore more and more. I'm really looking forward to them explaining how these new races are able to understand the races from the MW. But knowing EAware they'll just sum it up to "They just can" even though there is lore behind how the species from the MW understand each other. The gameplay trailer just made me roll my eyes. Yes the gameplay looked good, but this notion of Ryder being able to switch powers on the fly is dumb. Call me old fashion, but I liked the classes and restrictions of weapons that ME2 had. It added more replay value. The best thing I've seen so far is they made ammo powers weapon mods again. Other than that I've yet to see anything to be excited over. I'm going to wait for the reviews to drop for this one, or maybe hope for smudboy to do a game analysis on this one to save me the money of purchasing it all together. While I agree on being on the fence (it applies to me, too in a way because I am not sure if this game can live up to the expectations I have (without a massive amount of hype even!)) I disagree on classes providing replay value (ok, I am kind of a one trick pony in ME...I only play adepts, have tried the other classes and didn't really like them), I would never replay a game just to test out some skill or other (I will get myself a savegame to import and use a fully skilled character for the first mission to test if I like the class and that's it - I might use it if I replay (for story reasons!), but that's it...sadly ME3 performed poorly here, no real story reasons to replay IMHO (because there's no real choices to make in this game...)!) greetings LAX ps: Love not being bound by classes (sure: Not everybody is a biotic, but what hinders a soldier (biotic or not) from using an OMNI-TOOL (which everybody seems to carry in ME!) to create an OVERLOAD? Nothing, you don't need to be a scientist for that! Hacking may need tech-knowledge, but overload or deploying a combat drone? Nope!)

So because a few people took it too far everyone should get the middle finger? Great logic. They could've just apologized, like people do when they mess up, but no artistic integrity and all that bs.

Well, then I'm sure the developers are sorry that shooting someone makes them not want to help you. It's kind of an understandable reaction when you're not a sociopath. But hey, killing everyone in the galaxy because of sheer pettiness really does fit the people who whined about the endings.

Not really on the fence as it's pre ordered twice, cancelled first due to jump and flash combat. Second combat tease looked better.
Not on the hype train.Just don't care about this game as much as previous ones. Wondering what they changed that will make me want to throw controller.
Story, characters and looks have never been BW problem but changes in game play have.
Hate typing with a PS4. Need to get computer fixed.

Not really on the fence (already prepurchased the Super-Elite-Lord-Angel-Leet-WarriorKing edition). But still, i find the game to have a lotof animation issues, I see Sara and all I see is a cringe fest. Uncanny valley all over the place.

It was a perfectly appropriate response, given how many of the anti-ending sociopaths expressed their desire to shoot the developers because they didn't get the perfect consequence-free outcome they wanted. The handgun could have been disabled around the starkid, the point would have been made, and the players not caught up in the controversy wouldn't have noticed anything amiss. Instead there were plenty of players accidentally shooting the starkid and asking others what happened. It is a big enough of a change to force them to redo the ending. Collateral damage for the actions of a few. I don't want to pay for a game with passive-aggressive sour grapes if this becomes the new normal going forward. The interviews I've read indicate that they're eager for a fresh start. We all are.

The ones that threatened BW should, the problem is that everyone got the middle finger including those who either vehemently hated the ending but for good reasons and those that were just disappointed and wanted to get something else. EDIT: Lol you already said this, sorry for being a parrot.

I've moved on from the ending debacle, but I won't forget how Bioware and the less informed journalists treated us like we were the ones at fault for not liking the ending. That was like throwing salt on the wound. Thankfully over time though, Bioware has acknowledged the screw up.

That was like throwing salt on the wound. You never got the point. Journalists condemned ending-bashers because they flooded forums and comment sections with vitriol and garbage whether or not they had anything to do with the endings, demanded that BioWare change their story to suit them and them alone, and hurled abuse and death threats at the developers. All because of something not ending exactly the way these people wanted it to. Journalists condemned the people throwing a fit over the endings because the people throwing a fit over the endings acted like a bunch of self-centered psychopaths who genuinely believe the world revolves them. Because I'm sure you'd think anyone who wanted the creators of a work you like to change their story just because that person didn't like it and harassed the creators and fans of the work over it was an self-entitled brat.

The people who are on the fence about purchasing Mass Effect: Andromeda, why are you unsure at the moment and what could Bioware/EA show that would change your mind or assuage your fears? Or are you just waiting to see the "Let's Plays" and reviews before purchasing as a rule? Right now I'm still on the fence because 1. We still haven't seen much game play footage 2. The apparent downplaying of role-playing elements (Removal of classes, magically changing between profiles,...) 3. I consider pre-ordering games moronic. AAA games are not cheap and at this point you only have the word of the developers to go on. I'll wait for some outside input. That said, even if I don't get it relatively soon after release, I'll definitely buy it sometime down the line when the price drops.

The ending p*ssed off a lot of people, this is true. Very few stooped to death threats. You're using Alternative Facts here. I don' think you're grasping what exactly p*ssed off all those people. People paid money for these games. They didn't think they got value for dollar, and complained. Strangely enough, people do that when they feel ripped off.

I remember a poster on BSN Prime writing that the devs should be captured and butchered by terrorists. I mean there's fair criticism, but there's some pond-life that give fair critics a really bad name.
I think we have to accept that there is a level of obsessive behavior that sits amongst some (a minority) of the loudest critics and most adherent fan-boys. Possibly not helped by the anonymity of the internet, where there is no control nor censure.
All things considered, 'the fence' is a reasonable place to be.
BioWare should allow reviewers to comment in good time, not Bethesda/Ubisoft's potty policy.

So now that the reviewer embargo is over and we have seen reviews of the unfinished build from IGN, Gamespot, Games Radar, The Know, Kinda Funny, and many more, as well as a new gameplay series video on the profile and favorites systems, what does everyone think now? Any changes toward buying or not? Any additional questions people want answered?

We love first with the eyes, then with the heart, men especially.
This may not be fair or nice, but it is demonstrably true.
I've seen nothing in MEA that I could love first with the eyes yet. I hope there are more options.
Not buying at full price, for this and the animation/writing problems.
