Dear Revan my previous setup was a1080 display with a ps4, my current Ps4pro with a 4k screen is vastly superior in terms of visual fidelity. Sure its not native 4k but its pretty damn good. Tomb raider which has 1080p enhanced mode and a regular 4kupscaled shows this. 1080p enriched visuals have nothing compared to the 4k presentation (upscaled). There IS a huge difference I never claimed there wasn't an improvement in the picture with upscaled 4K. What I am stating is it's not worth the price of admission if you already own a PS4. Sony has been deceptively advertising the Pro suggesting it is a "4K console" without actually giving the entire truth. As I already said, the console is only capable of native 4K on a few games, which just so happen to be older games released years ago. The only place you will be able to play Mass Effect Andromeda with native 4K at 30 fps (or 60 fps if you have the money) will be PC. It's fine if you think there is a "huge difference," but the reality is that upscaled 4K is not a very large leap. As I said before, unless you don't already own a PS4 and just so happen to have a 4K TV on hand, that's the only reason I would purchase a Pro. Otherwise, I'd skip the scam.

i agree with you for most folks if you already have a ps4 and no 4k tv not worth it really id wait until after the new super xbox comes out and see what the reaction is. Oh any way anybody excited about the 1080ti coming looks like just in time for Andromeda ????

Regular ps4 is not obsolete at all . Ps4 pro was marketed to people who wanted something more. I entered the boat and i am glad i did , and if i did not bite at all then i would be happy too. Why i do insist is that ps4Pro for the 100$ offers way more fidelity IF you own a 4ktv. its worth it IF you own a 4k tv. I didn't own and i bought one along with it. Never regreted it though. P.S "dear revan" in my original post was not meant to be sarcastic but friendly.

You don't sound like anyone who has owned a PC since the 486 then, as it's pretty seamless now (oh, and 60fps?). Having said that, I'm sure the base PS4 performance will be great, the Pro is really coming into it's own lately though with HDR and checkerboard rendering, so if you're on the fence on what game to buy the Pro for, I'd say get it before Andromeda (I have one, it's awesome) but also get it for Horizon, since that is looking fucking next level as balls my friends. On that note, so glad I jumped on the holiday season sales for a 4K TV, got a KS8000 55" HDR delight box on the cheap, didn't know at the time I needed it, but Horizon and Andromeda are going to benefit from my rash purchasing behaviour! lol. Generally speaking the PC folks love the kinds of bleeding edge performance and visuals which you won't get at launch. If DAI is any indication even a GTX 1080 is going to struggle at first (to maintain 4k/60/ultra) until they have optimised the crap out of it in post release patches. If you're more than likely to going end up sacrificing high end resolutions and settings for stable performance at launch then I don't see the point in either releasing or buying the PC version just yet until it cuts the mustard so to speak. Well I cannot argue too much about DAI bugginess on PC at release despite not having as many problems as others, but I can say with absolute certainty that TW3 was vastly superior on PC to my PS4. So I would say it depends on the game and how much effort the devs put forth to optimize the game for PC.

I will play on PC, but if I had to choose between PS4 and PS4 Pro, I'd pick the former. I don't have any TV or monitor above 1080p, so that makes it simpler.

I'd rather buy the cheaper version. I don't see any practical benefit to justify the added cost to get a PS4 Pro. From what I hear everything plays the same or better on regular PS4.

I'd only potentially consider the Pro a better option over the standard PS4 if you don't have that solely because the PS4 Pro will likely have more longevity. At some point the PS4 will become obsolete, so that extra $100 may end up increasing the relevance of your purchase. If you don't have a 4K TV, then a Pro is an absolute waste of money. I don't own a PS4 or a PS4 Pro and have no intention of getting either one (if ever) anytime soon.

I have no 4K TV. Don't want a 4K TV. I barely watch TV at all. I'll buy a PS4 for FF7 nostalgia, but then I'll sell it off once I'm done with it. Unless it's releasing for PC.

That's possible, but we'll have to wait and see. I'm certainly not a fan of the Pro by any stretch of the imagination as it's marketing deception at its finest. This isn't anything new to Sony which always talks about resolution and framerate as a means of trying to bait gullible consumers. Well, Final Fantasy VII: Remake was only announced as "First on Playstation 4." Square Enix never stated it was going to be an exclusive to PS4. If I had to guess, FFVII Remake will come to PC later on much like FFXV is going to come to PC at some point.

well, let's do a basic comparison to see how the ps4 and ps4 pro run andromeda
1) the ps4 will be able to run andromeda at a max resolution of 1080p and only with all of the visual effects turned off. the maximum frame rate will be 20 fps and the average frame rate will be 15 fps with regular dips into the single digits.
2) the ps4 pro will run andromeda at a maximum resolution of 1080p. it will provide better frame rates than the base ps4 however. the pro runs andromeda at 25 fps, with an average frame rate of 20 fps, only dipping into the single figures once a second.
both consoles will rely on the use of a controller with analogue sticks which makes aiming difficult, clunky and unnatural, taking all of the fun out of the gameplay. consoles are guaranteed to offer a truly horrible gaming experience for this game, so im looking forward to it, ill probably be playing on ps4.

You might consider trying to run Andromeda on the Nintendo Switch. I hear that console is a marvel of technological prowess and exceptionalism.

I currently do not own any next gen console (just my old XBox 360), and plan on buying a PS4 Pro to play Mass Effect: Andromeda. My question is, would we know by now if there was going to be a PS4 Pro + MEA bundle at release? I realize they might offer one in half a year or something, but I'm prioritizing playing MEA early.
If there won't be a bundle at launch, I'll just get the console now and pre-order the game. However I'd feel dumb if a bundle was announced next week.
Any thoughts or recommendations?
