So after seeing recent footage of Horizon Zero Dawn on both the base PS4 and PS4 Pro, and being surprised and kind of pleased at how there isn't major or significantly disparate differences between the two, I was wondering what other people's thoughts might be on whether there will be significant differences with Andromeda on the PS4 and PS4 Pro?
So far we've only seen footage for the Pro, not the base PS4, so was wondering what people's thoughts or concerns might be on how the game might look and run on the base PS4 in comparison to the Pro?
Also out of curiosity, for those who are PlayStation 4 owners etc. which console do you own and are playing Andromeda on?

PS4 pro all the way, I have the pc to run 4K and hdr but until we get more specifics on the pc version I'm looking at PS4 pro version. The games that do take advantage of the pro are jaw dropping.

PS4 pro mostly for this boost mode that is coming soon. Not sure if Andromeda is going to take advantage of it but if they do it will be nice to have.

Ya exactly boost mode is for those games without the tweaks for PRO. From what we know MEA is doing 4k weather its up scaled or not? But most importantly its doing HDR and its amazing HDR and high res.

If you have access to a pro, I have no idea why you wouldn't use one instead of the base model. If absolutely nothing else, you should at least have less frame drops

PC for 4K PS4 for the larger multiplayer community. PS4 Pro for the dustbin of history.

Pc will be bugged and plagued and you will spend more time tweaking than playing. PS4 pro is very impressive, this coming from a longtime pc guy.

Pc will be bugged and plagued and you will spend more time tweaking than playing. Pretty much. I'm going to get the PS4 version at launch to get straight into multiplayer and wait a few months for the PC version to be fully patched and optimised. I plan to attempt to have at least a gold level manifest before the first expansion.

I really wish devs these days would release a demo for all platforms before release, it would alleviate allot of the guess work.

PC all the way, but if I had to choose.. PS4 PRO P.S. Console games today are not that much better when it comes to bugs.. At least on PC I can fix/tweak most of them and/or download unoffcial patches/mods to make the game more playable

Pc will be bugged and plagued and you will spend more time tweaking than playing. PS4 pro is very impressive, this coming from a longtime pc guy. Tweaking will take all of five seconds because games automatically adjust for the hardware you have. And anyone who's going to spend time tweaking will be tweaking far more than just graphics anyway, regardless of their platform. Someone who spends more than 20 seconds in the options will be adjusting controller input, sound, brightness, and so on. But no, only PC players calibrate games to suit their needs.

Ps4 pro. And I know its different watching videos of a game, but the difference between that ps4 pro demo on my 4k tv and the 1080p footage is pretty noticeable.

Well if I could afford a 4K TV and the Pro, I'd get it. My main worry is that there is a real noticeable difference between the two, which isn't the case with HZD. Sure it looks better on the Pro, but it still looks good enough on the base PS4 so as to not worry me. Not sure about Andromeda though

You see those games at that actual res on a 4k and if it has hdr also their is no comparison. I didnt believe the hype as a pc gamer then i got the pro and downloaded some pro enabled games with hdr on my sony 4k and its very impressive. MEA may be another standard setting title for HDR and 4k

The PS4 Pro is nothing more than a marketing scam for Sony to take money from its most gullible consumers. Mac Walters already stated in an interview with Game Informer last month that MEA will only run at 30fps on the Pro, as is the case with the X1 and regular PS4. If you seriously want to have a legitimate gaming machine and have the money, go with a PC.
I'm also fairly certain that 4K on the Pro will be upscaled (not native) and the regular PS4 is also capable of HDR, making the Pro not worth one's money or time. The "boost mode" is only applicable to older PS4 games that are being patched for slightly better performance on the Pro. I'd only buy a Pro if you somehow can't afford a gaming PC, don't already have a PS4, and you have a 4K TV ready to go.

The PS4 vs PS4 Pro argument basically hinges on one question, in my opinion.
"Do you already have a PS4?"
If the answer is yes, then don't bother upgrading.
