Honestly, I'm severly skeptic about Andromeda on several levels, but the squadmate roster is what is keeping me hyped for the game right now. I really like what I'm seeing !
It already looks far more interesting than ME3's squad which was the weakest imo (though Jaavik was amazing, he was DLC).

I actually like the lineup. I'm less interested in their species and more interested in their personalities. So far, the lineup seems fantastic. I also believe there's going to be one more squadmate that will be day one DLC, as that has become the trend with the Mass Effect franchise. We know BioWare cut a companion from the roster because apparently he/she was too "similar" to a companion in the Mass Effect trilogy.

So I dont know if people here have actually stopped to wonder why they kept the squad size relatively small...
You understand that maybe they were going for a "6 inches wide, 100 inches deep" kinda thing right? As in, more than one loyalty mission, more dialogue and character progression with each one...so on so forth. Plus you also gotta remember that while we only have 6 squad mates, we also have the people on board the tempest. They, in their own right, are just as important as the squad mates.
Just give it a shot, Im sure you'll find you like more than one of the squad mates.
