I think it's kind of neat that the diskette lives on as a universally known "save" symbol.

Well, it should work on my laptop. Medium to low settings for now. I have i7 processor and 12 gb Ram memory but video card is weak. I'm going to buy myself a PC but I'm still saving money. ,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸
Good luck. If you played DA:I with your laptop, ME:A should play with those settings. Expect, Ken plastic hair though. My PC played DA:I well enough.
I hope it will be alright. Inqusition worked pretty well and I saw on You Tube that Battlefield 1 is working on my graphic card so it should be fine. I'm good with medium settings really. I usually disable some graphic options like shadows etc to keep textures on higher quality.

Can y'all tell me if I definitely need to get a new PC? My laptop handled DA:I brilliantly, and I really don't want to spend the money...

Not sure what other information you might need, but I'm happy to provide any other details.

If dai ran that well, you might consider grabbing a month of origin access and giving the early access a spin, but I don't want to get your hopes up.

It was maximum as well, so 1366 x 768 I just really appreciate other insights. I can compare the numbers well enough, but I don't have a complete understanding of specs. If I have to get a new laptop, then I will.

You might actually get away with something at that resolution too for mea. But it might be time to consider an upgrade.

It is an asus laptop, so that's the highest possible resolution I have access to. It's a 15.3" screen. I've only had it for 3 years, so if Memory Express can upgrade it, I will. If I have to buy a brand new laptop, then I guess I will.

Though they are pushing barely over 6gb of ram, I hope keeping your background processes to a minimum can keep you from pushing over. I think this game is a safe comparison due to it being a very modern title using the same engine. Though, if you have the means to upgrade your memory it would help buy a little breathing room. I don't think it would be a bad idea to start eyeing for deals on a new system for gaming

So my other option is to build a pc.
I know how to install components inside a case, but I would have no idea what to buy and what would be a valid cost. I habe zero parts right now.
Any help anyone can offer?

good build, congrats Thanks Perm. For MAE, I'm thinking of starting off by running the GTX 1060 Gaming X Card
in it's overclock mode to see how I stand first, before I try to overclock it farther myself.

I bet you'll be happy the the preset overclock, but it can be fun to tinker and push at your hardware a bit sometimes. Before you start to fiddle settings like clocks and voltages, perhaps look up guides/videos for people doing so with your same card. And if you see people suggesting stuff like flashing you gpu bios, it's probably best to stray away from that mess. Far too easy to brick your hardware.

The suggested retail prices are VERY reasonable, but need to see what amazon actually lists them at

of people that have overclocked a GTX 1060 video card themselves and see what settings there using and go from there.

Quick question about that list (so I can understand how to "read" it): How much of a difference in the passmark should there be before an upgrade is worthwhile (as opposed to throwing away money for a marginal upgrade)? For example, the recommended card (GeForce GTX 1060) is in the high 8,000 range. Would that mean it's not really worth upgrading any of the cards within the 8,000 bracket? I have a feeling I'm in the minority on this, but I generally wait until GPU benchmark results literally double across the board before I upgrade. Hence why I'm building a new system in a few months. I don't play enough triple-a titles to justify incremental upgrades; as long as I can play the games I care about at >60FPS, I'm happy. But now I'm looking into other a number of tech-related fields and it's clear that my five-year-old system isn't going to cut it anymore. So my other option is to build a pc. I know how to install components inside a case, but I would have no idea what to buy and what would be a valid cost. I habe zero parts right now. Any help anyone can offer? "Valid cost" can mean pretty much anything. On paper, a $600 gaming PC is just as valid as a $2500+ gaming PC. It all depends on your ideal budget and plans for the PC in question beyond gaming (i.e. a PC that'll be used for both gaming and video editing/3d rendering will cost considerably more than a PC that'll only see gaming and internet browsing/word processing)

Oh, of course, of course. I just meant I don't even know what the standard market cost is for a component, so I don't know what would be a scam, you know? Standard market price depends on the component. To paint with the broadest brush I can find, entry-level components will cost around $60-150, mid range stuff will cost between $175-300, high end will run $315-500, and enthusiast stuff will be north of $500. I would be wary of spending less than $35 for any new-in-box component (that's not on sale/rebate, anyway), unless it's miscellaneous like a fan, CD drive, or something along those lines. This link is an excellent resource for sorting through all the various components out there, but they're kinda slow to update for new releases (example: AMD's new Ryzen CPU lineup is set to launch this coming Thursday, March 2, and they don't have anything related to them in their database yet): www.pcpartpicker.com

- Nvidia GTX 980 TI
- G.Skill Ripjaws X memory (8GB)
- Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H
- Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (x2)
Thank you!
