Just saw the nvidia article and I'm still really worried about how my pc will run this game. I meet every requirement except the GPU. And considering the GTX 660 is the minimum requirement for 1280x720 I feel like I'm pretty fucked with my GTX 760, as I'm going to be playing at 1920x1080. So much for med-high settings I guess lmao Not only the resolution but the requirements are for expected 30FPS game-play. help.ea.com/en/help/mass-effect/mass-effect-andromeda/are-you-ready-for-mass-effect-andromeda/?sf53085265=1#pc LOL i hope they are joking there is no way GTX 1060 at 1080p produces only 30fps in frostbite. 30 fps on GTX 1060... on that 3 GB VRAM version maybe Because I don't believe game with so many crisp textures and vast landscape could rely just on 3 GB VRAM on recommended. I would expect card like GTX 970 to have steady 40-45 fps on ultra on 1080p, when all other specs are at recommended. So no sweat.

Uhm the game is not capped at 30 on pc, is it? The wording on that site is a bit unclear. I mean there is no reason it should be seeing as DA:I was not.

So for 1080p and ultra settings at 60fps we will need GTX 1070/1080? Wow, it will be even worse optimized than DAI

These Nvidia benchmarks are ridiculous. Either everything is set to ultra and not high or this game is unoptimized to hell and back.

Something is definitely off here. Whether it's the testing methodology or the optimization of the game remains to be seen, though.

On one hand I want to say its part of a "go buy new PC stuff yo" thing that most games push when they launch PC specs. On the other hand, I go "yikes, DAI was shit optimized on PC" and I have a feeling that unless you have a $3000 rig its gonna be poor again.

At the same time, it could also mean that what they deem as being high would be another game's very high, etc since the game isn't cross-gen. I mean, I doubt it, but low being medium, medium being high, high being very high, and ultra being ridiculous ultra shit is still a possibility.

I have a 6 GB 980 TI, usually run games in 2560x1600 - any idea of how that would fare for ME:A? Could upgrade card but not sure it's worth it - have past the recommended system requirements but not sure what that tells me really. Also have i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz, 16 gb ram. Was going to get for XBX1 but now I think I will for PC...

For comparison, here's a pretty substantial list of Battlefield 1 benchmarks running on Ultra at 1080p. It doesn't have the 660 or 7750 listed, unfortunately, but it does have some pretty low-end cards (R7 370, RX 460) featured. When we compare those to DA:I benchmarks, we see the majority of listed cards running at a 20FPS+ deficit compared to BF1, despite BF1 being more graphically intensive. Just goes to show the strides Dice made with optimization, and hopefully Bioware has been able to emulate their success.

It'd probably be one of the most unoptimized games on the planet in that case. My tin foil hat says it's a scheme to sell more 1080s and 1080 Ti's.

Let's hope that's an error, it would be pretty terrible if I have to lower it to medium just to hit 60FPS.

I smell bullshit because they're contradicting the Nvidia benchmarks from a couple days ago, where they reached around 60fps on high at 1080p with a gtx 1060. At least I hope they're joking. They're not exactly painting the game in the best light when it makes it look like it's terribly optimized.

Can I run MEA if I have Windows 10 with DirectX12? ( I am very new for Windows 10)

Ok, I just booted up Inquisition.
Tesselation and shadow quality are on medium, water and vegetation are on ultra, SSAO is own, PPAA is on medium, and everything else is on high. Booting up in 1080p gets me 60fps roughly, bouncing between 58-60, but that's marginal and I'm sure dropping AA down to low and forcing it through my drivers or dropping water and vegetation to high could net me rock solid 60fps.
1440p drops me down to 45. I'm using an overclocked 7970. This same cardd with a more recent, more graphically intensive game can hit 60fps on ultra. Even if Andromeda is more in line with Inquisition than Battlefield graphics wise, there's no reason why they're recommending so much power for merely 30fps. These are either pre-patch, pre-game ready driver results, or this is another Crysis/GTA4.

Oh crap! My processor is only an i5 750 running at 2.6 GHz. Don't think that will cut it for this game if the minimum specs are for a 3 GHz processor. [Edit] Extra Specs: RAM: 12 GB Video Card: GeForce GTX 1060 6GB [Edit2] Gonna take advice and just see what happens... dat bottleneck

I'm not much of PC spec expert, but I feel like these values are highly inflated. Plus I don't believe they tested out every single CPU+GPU configuration there is. Andromeda looks like a demanding game, but no way is it THAT demanding. I feel like NVIDIA is playing off the hype trying to push their bank buster GPU's. If not Andromeda must've had some side polishing by Ubisoft, because if 60 fps on non sub-par settings is only achievable with 1080's and the like, this game is highly unoptimized. My current setup is above the recommended requirements, and I upgraded my 8gb RAM to 16 gb RAM to play the game on Ultra settings, with no problems. Now with this new information, my eyebrows are raised, cause this isn't making much sense to me.

BioWare has never been good at optimizing games, at all - I'm afraid. The whole "1060 for 30 FPS/High/1080p" is hopefully just min FPS or something... Seeing as they can run 4k@60 fps in their demo, looking smooth af, I'm really hoping GFX in the 980-1070 ballpark can achieve at least 60 fps at 1080 at least... But, we'll see soon, won't we?

If you're able try the early access before freaking out we'll see in a week what is needed to get 60fps on ultra.

They never do; min/recommended specs are generally the oldest and weakest stuff they have on hand next to the latest and greatest on hand. No one ever runs through with the multitude of processor/graphics card combos of the last seven years to test the game, which is why there's plenty of times where parts below the minimum spec can run the game perfectly as good or marginally worse than minimum spec and why you get occasions where even recommended isn't enough to pull off a game. Either the graphics scale is different than normal with Andromeda or they tested with a bunch of Nvidia specific stuff running, which of course eats up processing power.

So, I want to ask my silly question and am prepared for a silly answer since my situation is a bit silly, but…
My specs are AMD FX 8320, 32 GB RAM and a Nvidia GTX 660 with 2GB RAM.
Obviously my GPU is the biggest issue here and it’s the minimum required one judging from the game info. However somehow my rig manages to squeeze about 40+ framerate from DAI at 1920x1080 resolution if I tone down AA and Shadows and put the rest mostly on Ultra settings with some stuff on High. I wish I could do the same with MEA, but I know it won’t happen.
So I am pondering if will I be able to run the game with things like Textures on High and the other demanding stuff at least on Medium (quite willing to put AA to Off and Shadows to Low). I don’t want to play it with most settings on Low (I mean I will, but don’t want to…kinda will play it against my will).
Now I can easily grab a GTX 1080, but here is the thing – my tech guy, a.k.a “my brother”, left for another country 2 years ago. And I am not superstitious or anything but I swear my rig doesn’t like anyone else to tinker with it. Doesn’t matter how small the change or upgrade is, if it’s not done by my brother, 90 % of the time things just don’t work well after. Maybe I got a hidden AI with a temper in there…or bad luck with lousy techs. And from my limited knowledge on the subject I believe that a new GPU requires not only to just be plugged in, but other stuff as power supply, compatibility, etc., need to be factored in.
So the dilemma is will I run the game on Medium-High until my bro comes in a couple of months and we upgrade the rig? Or should I risk bringing Judgement Day by awaking Skynet with a new GTX 1080?

Based on what Nvidia's benchmarks are saying, I won't be able to run this game on medium-high and I can do high-ultra on every game I've tried. if i were you, I'd just get the 1080 and do the swap yourself. There's videos on youtube that detail how to build or upgrade PCs, so pop one of those on your phone and swap your GPU; it's a hell of a lot better than waiting when you don't have to.
