Considering that maybe 20% of pc games have proper SLI support at all, I wouldn't count too much on SLI being a huge help (SLI support on DAI was .. severely lacking.. as in nonexistant and actually made the game look / run worse). More often than not it just has caused me problems with games and I've generally just reverted to a single video card cus of it.

it sure is great we no longer have to deal with this for the foreseeable future with all of the laptop nvidia gpus being just downclocked desktop parts.

I don't know what you are talking about sorry. Dragon Age inquisition with max settings and MSAAx4 worked fine at 4k constant 60fps on my 2 1080's so SLI must have been working fine otherwise 1 1080 wouldn't of not handled it.

Yup, that was on DX12, on DX11 Bitwit, a youtuber, averaged 75FPS on Ultra at 4k. So I think anyone lucky enough to have a 1080 TI wouldn't need to worry lol

I have the following system specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7 4790K 4.0 GHz
RAM: 16 GB RAM
GPU: Asus ROG GTX 970
HDD: 500 GB SSD

From this, and what I have seen with Star Wars Battlefront, which I have, and Battlefront 1, which I don't have, but what I have seen from different YouTubers, I should be able to run this game in Ultra no problem. So hopefully, the frostbite engine is up to speed....March 23th...please come soon:-D

It won't be. Card is way over hyped. This video it averages around 50fps. 1080 TI is still not a true 4k card. With my 2 1080's on max settings Crysis 3 with MSAAx4 I can get around 80fps. I like to have some anti aliasing on at least 4x at 4k. Nvidia is monopolising the market just like Intel is. AMD has not brought out any real competition and the sad thing is their so called Ryzen CPU's are on par with Skylake i5 CPU's when it comes to gaming haha. We don't need more workstation CPU's.

What you really mean is being able to run ultra settings at 4k at 60fps with maxed out MSAA with that kind of power which is completely unnecessary. 2 1080/ti s are you trying to a run a space station?

This engine is not that demanding... in my experience even a lowly GTX 1070 can run DAI at 4k/55+ FPS with most settings on ultra with some minor compromises to about 4 settings. Suffice it to say i think you'll be more than alright.

Depends on the game, noticeable on some, not so much on others. Really depends on how texture heavy the game is and if you think AA is important.

The 8GB version isn't much more though so unless you were seriously on strict budget, might as well get the 8GB one.

Crysis 3 is still a very demanding game. In a majority of games the 1080 TI will average 60FPS at 4k with settings maxed out.

ME:A is using the Frostbite engine which is the same as Battlefield 1 and Star Wars Battlefront which the 1080 TI tears through, using benchmarks from those games have far more relevance than benchmarks from Crysis 3 which uses a completely different engine.

That is true but I suspect the RX 480 will reach its limit before its 8GB of VRAM will though.

Meaning by the time you bump up the texture quality that 8GB allows, you would need a more powerful card anyway.
