My graphics card is 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745, which I think is this. other specs [edit: forgot to say the drivers are now updated tho lol] Say I want to run the game smoother on medium, or on settings higher than medium (I'm playing on medium at the moment and it's okay, not great, I'll survive but in an ideal world it would be prettier! hence the query), then I require a new, better graphics card, right? [never upgraded a PC before] I've been googling around and doing some reading, but my knowledge is woefully lacking. would something like this work? Make the game smoother and prettier? would you warn me away from that one and have a better recommendation in mind? how do I know it will work for my PC? side note: saw people saying their performance took a hit on the first planet after you get the Tempest, I tried it and figured I'd add to my report given my weird graphics card and peoples' request, it's fine on the first planet too.

My framerate dropped big time on the first planet. Got really choppy.

I had nothing but smooth sailing with a 1070gtx and it's faster and draws less power than my 780gtx. Very happy with the performance, playing at 1080. Need a better monitor to try higher resolutions.

I'm honestly impressed by how well my 560ti handled the game. I was expecting it to catch on fire or something, but it wasn't too bad overall, considering how old it is. But an upgrade was needed.

A 15% boost to the power limit provided a steady max boost clock on my RX 470.

Hi, after playing now a good part of the SP, I can say so far I play it on Ultra. I5 6400 Sapphire Nitro+ Rx470 8GB 16 GB Ram I play on 1040p Just have turned off V-Sync, Shadows on low, Film Grain Off. Everything else is on Ultra or High, if there is no Ultra option for me. Only complained is that the game shut down during the MP. Customization didn't start correctly. And now the loading didn't continue after things (I will not spoil). But I'm not sure, if maybe I have to download the rest of the game... There was a little bit of weirdness during the cutscenes, like little stuttering, but nothing too annoying at the beginning of the game. The other cutscenes were fine so far. I will now play a little bit on High only, to see if there might be a problem... but FPS wise the game runs great on my PC! [little Edit:] Before I started playing today, I installed the new AMD driver 17.3.2, since they are already working on optimazation for Mass Effect Andromeda, also if you have a RX480 you should get more power.

Right now I'm thinking of changing my motherboard (since it doesn't support ddr4) and get 16gb of ddr4 at 3200mhz. If you want to get a motherboard that supports DDR4, you will need to buy a new CPU as well. The 2600K does not support DDR4, nor will it fit correctly in the socket of any DDR4-compatible motherboard you purchase. in your guys' opinion/to your knowledge, what makes the biggest difference: RAM, graphics card, or CPU? i have the recommended RAM, my processor is a bit below minimum, and my graphics card is a fair bit below minimum. i know i'll be okay for low/med settings, just curious about your opinions. Graphics card, hands-down. While it's the CPU's responsibility to tell the graphics card what to do, that doesn't change the fact that the graphics card still has do the majority of the work. Think of it like this - when your boss assigns you to a project, your boss typically doesn't do any of the legwork, they just tell you what to do and when it needs to be done by. Same concept here.

For anyone who has a DDR3 RAM setup - it works great. I have an I7, 16gigs of ram and a 1070gtx - game flows flawlessly at 1080p settings maxed. There's no need to go to a DDR4 setup unless you just really want to.

I 16 GB RAM DDR3! Thanks to a good friend, I have 16 gigs. With that, including my GTX 970, and i7-4790k processor, I should hopefully be fine.

I was just little under on my system (the recommended requirements) and it set me to low in all my settings which still looked great. But on Eros I had some insane lag spikes. My game felt like it was pausing and freezing. Otherwise, I never noticed it running hot or the fan kicking up at all. But those times where it probably slowed due to render issues (in a desert no less) made me really glad I went with PS4 for this.

Sorry if this sounds really stupid but how do I take screenshots? I've tried F12 F11 and print screen but it isn't working for me? It also doesn't say anywhere on the key bindings area on how to do so, I've seen others with screenshots so I'm sure there's a button for it...

i7-4770k @ 4.0ghz MSI R9-290X Lightning (17.3.2 drivers) 1080p on high is smooth as can be. Looks very good. 1440p on Ultra still smooth and looks even better. Been very happy with Frostbite engine in games on my pc. I can run as high as 3200x1800 on current monitor and going to see how it does. Time to melt down this vid card Edit - 3200x1800 looks amazing, playable but not as smooth as I would like. Will stick to 1080p in Ultra or 1440p Ultra.

I use FRAPS to take screenshots. I wish it wan't require for me to buy it in order to make the screenshots JPEGS, and record video.

If you're on Windows 10 you can bring up the game bar with Windows key + G, from there you can set up hotkeys for various things, like taking screenshots. Others have suggested Windows key + print screen, the pictures get saved to a folder somewhere but for me they all turn out black. I've also been looking for the in-game screenshot feature but it doesn't seem to exist (yet?).

Every time I launch a game, like Mass Effect 3 (for example) there's an onscreen notification from Geforce Experience (I think) that tells me how to share/record. To stay on the safe side, I use FRAPS, and turn the screenshots into jpegs later.

I think I have something like this. Every time I launch a game, like Mass Effect 3 (for example) there's an onscreen notification from Geforce Experience (I think) that tells me how to share/record. To stay on the safe side, I use FRAPS, and turn the screenshots into jpegs later. Yeah Nvidia graphics cards come with that feature, from what I've heard it's really well implemented and less performance heavy than external software (especially if you record video). So maybe give it a try, you might like it better than Fraps. I have an AMD card and they recently introduced a similar thing with it, it's called Relive, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. The game bar and Xbox DVR feature in Windows 10 works really well out of the box though, so it's nice not to have fiddle with other programs.
