YAY! Thank you! can't afford a new machine at the mo cus broke student. Don't worry, you should be able to slide your way on min settings till the end of "generation" but you deffo need to think about full upgrade in ~2 years max

I just waffled at the i5 vs. spending a lot more for an i7. The i7 series is useful if you're into video editing and the like, but for gaming it's not really necessary. They might as well list the core i5 4690K as recommended because it performs pretty much the same as the i7 4790 in Frostbite 3 games.

As I've said earlier, most laptops graphics cards are low end really. I think yours is low end I'm afraid. Don't get me wrong, I think you're gonna be playing the game, but probably at medium settings at best. By the way, have you ever tried DA:I in that same computer?

Phew, in the clear... still, a 1060 is kinda steep for optimum performance. I haven't seen much that really would need that kind of power...

Not sure why my system has two graphic cards? Is that normal? Yup, that's normal... modern CPU's have in chip graphics capability. It usually will not be used as long as there is a PCIE graphics cards present.

Not sure why my system has two graphic cards? Is that normal? Yeah most intel chips have an "integrated gpu" Your 920m is slightly better.

One thing to keep in mind when playing on a laptop is the temperatures; laptops don't push the kind of frequencies that desktops do, but they're a whole lot less well cooled. Heat shortens the life of electronic components; and I suspect that the various laptops that died on me over the years had their life expectancy shortened by working at long periods on max throttle (video encoding, games, compiling huge sets of software, etc.)

They are usually quite demanding but I don't know how they compare to the newest Triple A games. My poor wee laptop takes a lot

Here's a BF1 video with a pretty similar laptop and the frame rate is around 30 fps most of the time: (if someone is unsure about being able to play MEA, a BF1 video with a similar system might be a good indication on what to expect; best thing of course would be to wait for MEA benchmarks/videos).

16 RAM gb for recommended? And they list no detailed res or FPS specs? It's always presumed to be at 1080p@60fps. Nothing less, nothing more. However I do agree that those specs are BS. A Nvidia 920M... you're on a laptop, aren't you? As I've said earlier, most laptops graphics cards are low end really. I think yours is low end I'm afraid. Don't get me wrong, I think you're gonna be playing the game, but probably at medium settings at best. By the way, have you ever tried DA:I in that same computer? Heat shortens the life of electronic components; and I suspect that the various laptops that died on me over the years had their life expectancy shortened by working at long periods on max throttle (video encoding, games, compiling huge sets of software, etc.) Yeah, I really wouldn't game on a laptop, not even if it was sold as a "gaming laptop" , but that's me. I suppose not everyone has the choice. Yeah I am on a laptop. There's sometimes a few issues with lip syncing but I think that's just PC port issues Well, if you ran DA:I on high with those specs, I assume you're going to be running ME:A at medium, with some luck maybe some settings in high. But as said, that particular graphics card troubles me deeply, 95% of the laptops don't have decent enough graphic cards (if they have a dedicated graphic card at all).

16 RAM gb for recommended? And they list no detailed res or FPS specs? 16 GB is the new standard. Mankind Divided had it as well, and it really needed it too. Plus its not really an issue considering how cheap RAM is these days.

Looks like I'll be mostly fine with my RX 470 8GB, i5-4670k and 8GB of memory, though I really should get around to adding some more of it one of these days.

It's not like you have to be awake to DL something. Play the game after DL is finished or even waiting for the game to be available for DL

I don't know but this seems fishy to me, they wait this long to release the specs so people start freaking out and quickly run to the store while there system might very well be fine.
