It's funny, I literally just finished watching that, came on here, and saw this thread.
He seemed pretty positive of the game, he especially seemed happy that it didn't have many of the issues people had with Inquisition. He also said it didn't fill him with a sense of awe, but it did make him interested. That's fine, ME1 was the first time ever seeing the Mass Effect universe, it makes sense that this game wouldn't capture that same feeling on awe. The fact that it was interesting to him does make it seem promising though.

That's the biggest contradiction I get from most reviews... the one side says the open world is interesting and filled with stuff, the other side says it's as empty as DAI's. We wont know until the 21st, I guess...

"Liam is Kaidan-esque" ......Well....I expected as much. No. No. NO.NOOOOOOOO. Kaidan is so boring, I forever regretted getting in his pants in ME1 and he is hot...but he is so boring it ended up not mattering. I got a jealousy scene in ME2 when I was like "dude I'm trying to get into Garrus pants now." Then he was back in ME3 , and I had to wait until like more than half the game to dump him during a romantic dinner I did not want to have in the first place , and yes it was all very awkward. So please God NO !

Dude chill... they compared Cora to Ruby Rose of all people, and she is written by the same person that wrote Sera... I'm chill. I'm just being a drama queen for fun. Liam is written by the person who did Sera who did part of Kaidan , who did Jacob"The Prize" etc etc... I've never cared much for companions in Mass Effect to be honest , and it looks like this trend will continue.Well there's a Krogan, but everybody love Krogans.

I feel like a good bit of these people who previewed this game knew very little about Mass Effect: Andromeda. I get that they are fans of the first trilogy but my god, do your research and homework before you go preview a game when you're a journalist. You lose credibility. It's like you giving a business plan pitch and not knowing your own shit nor doing the research on the person/company you're pitching to.

The point of previews is to get the general mainstream perspective of your game. Their impression tells you of your game's general appeal after all.

Their best point is about Bioware's aversion to declare this a new trilogy/saga. It just looks like a playing-too-safe lack of commitement with heavy cash-grab undertone. We all know why (if it disappoints/doesn't sell well enough/cautious after Trilogy) but it still hurts Andromeda. Microsoft did it the correct way, announcing second Halo trilogy right from the get go and making it clear it's a full super important artistically and key to the universe massive arc blah blah. Doesn't matter if they stumble while releasing new installements, no one really questions the status of Halo 4/5/6. Andromeda lacks the full-on commitement from the marketing which hurts player engagement. Many are not thinking much about Remnants becuse Bioware spent the past few years insisting how this game (and sequels) will TOTALLY not have high stakes and major threat/mystery/puzzle and how it's really more personal story, no grand arcs etc. Caricaturing of course, but you get the point. They're adamant about not calling this an absolutely major new entry in the saga.
Maybe things will change after release but some damage was already done. Players were weighting everything said and done in ME1/ME2 much heavier when they played knowing it's part of a big arc.

Edit: He is much better than the Giant Bomb crew Rewatched the Giant Bomb group and they are a little uninformed but not nearly as bad as this guy. I felt like they were just a bunch of older bros who aren't that big into details. GI is a different story when they are usually known for good content. I just know if I was privileged enough to be in that position, I wouldn't slack off on the professionalism. Why wasn't BioFan , Minius , and Tucker/N7follower invited to this? I get that these three are big fans of Bioware, but I trust the amount of criticism (positive and negative) they would provide because of the amount of professionalism they present in their coverage.

I have to agree with projectpatdc here. A bit of research either before playing the demo or before doing this video panel would be a good thing. The guy didn't even knew how Sara's name was spelled. ps: also fix your bed hair. ps2: giant crew bomb, who are they?

Ash from MEOdissey got to play it though, and even if I don't watch that channel as much as the others, it was refreshing to hear someone who follows all the news and stuff talking about it, I recommend their video.

I posted a link in the spoilers thread to Ash's video joking that I had the sudden craving for Tea after watching it. It was, IMO, one of the best previews because it was so well presented and prepared. I know the bad rep IGN can sometimes get from people, but Alanah did a fantastic unbiased preview as well. Disappointing and a little confusing because gameinformer usually holds a certain standard of quality
