I also say so. Just last week I had a support issue (with Origin). After I filed my ticket, a guy CALLED ME ON MY CELL PHONE 3 MINUTES LATER and resolved my issue lickity-split. I've not had a negative experience with EA' customer support yet. They've always been helpful and resolved any issues I've had with relative swiftness.

Nothing will happen to your game. If the game were on Steam, Valve could conceivably do the same thing since plenty of people have had games "pulled" from their accounts; likewise with Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. Yeah, this is an ugly nature of digitally purchased video games. Only in EU is it illegal to do such thing as purchased software is considered same as purchased physical property, but it is a normal practice everywhere else in the world including US, Canada and Australia.

By "normal practice" you just mean "not illegal," right? I can't think of anyplace where pulling games from people's accounts happens much.

In most of the world, you buy a license to access some company's software. In EU, when you buy any software you buy and own that software, no license nonsense.

Just go to store or Bioware headquarters and get a physical disk for ME:A. As to the other talk about Origin, Uplay, Steam... If the program is going to track my data forget it.

My understanding is that EA has done away with physical disks for PC releases, when you buy the game in the store all you get is a CD Key and have to download the game through Origin. That is what I was told at EBGames when I asked before pre-ordering and its the same with the Amazon page as well. So decided to buy it from Origin and have the ability to pre-load the game then.

Hell I still remember when I picked up the Indie title "The Ball" several years ago and when I boot up the disc all that was there was a Steam installer.

I just wish EA had a backup utility as part of Origin like Valve does with Steam then. I just tried copying my Inquisition folder when moving to a replacement drive and when I tried to run the game again it had to download the majority of the game again.

I do not have the speed necessary to download a game of ME:A's size... it will take me A LONG TIME to download at only 0.50Mbs

Probably not up to date image used for both since so similar. www.amazon.co.uk/forum/-/Tx1T9Y55C6SLO0T/ref=ask_dp_dpmw_al_hza?asin=B00KHJLS6EAlso there is two options under PC: Buy digital and new. Only digital says to play on release day. Could be wrong but I will take Mike Gamble at his word.

If you buy the game the game then nothing will happen, going by the fact that every game I've bought through Origin since it's inception has been fine. If you pirate the game then there's no telling. The meat of the potential issue is that when you "buy" a digital download game through Steam or Origin, you are not buying the game, you are buying the "right to play it". The game can be removed from your library when official support for that game ends and legally that is fine, because you don't own the game. EA could, for example, pull ME3 off Origin when MEA comes out. This would "encourage" you to "purchase" MEA, since you can no longer play ME3. And then when Mass Effect: Sagittarius-B comes out, they remove MEA and the cycle continues. That said, until it starts to actually happen, it's no excuse for pirating. Very true. It's why I'm not a fan of Origin or Steam, truthfully. You can wrap DRM up in a pretty package but it's still a form of DRM. Still, if it were even pulled from the store in, say, 10 yrs I'm not sure that would impact those who already own the digital distribution files. In the end, though, it's a good argument for buying the game in a physical copy, if you can.

It has worked for me in the past and Inquisition was the only time it was problematic.

I also say so. Just last week I had a support issue (with Origin). After I filed my ticket, a guy CALLED ME ON MY CELL PHONE 3 MINUTES LATER and resolved my issue lickity-split. Can second this. Origin has rock-solid customer support. At that, they're way better than Steam. I also strongly doubt they just delete games.

I find it funny that the TC says he/she trust Valve but not EA when Valve has a very long history of having some extremely terrible CS. I'm as big of a fan of Steam as anyone, but even I know the reality is that it's a great platform.....until I have a problem and need actual CS. Someone already said it but it seems like the TC is just looking for approval on his/her decision to pirate the game.
