Running around the Tempest and locating every single NPC, followed by talking to each of them to the point of exhaustion. Doing a mission, then coming right back to the Tempest to talk to every single NPC aboard all over again to see if the dialogue has changed even slightly. Rinse. Repeat. I think I'm more OCD about missing new conversations on the ship than about anything else in these games.

Pick bro Ryder at start, spend hours in CC then instead I'll choose the default face.
Not playing as sis Ryder, but I will still spend hours in the CC just tweaking her face.
Then after that I will mess around in the game's graphics settings for 10 mins or so.
When I think I'm happy with the settings I choose, I'll finally start playing the game.
Hour into game, I'll hate the way my male Ryder looks and start all over in the CC.
Now feeling hungry I'll spend 10/15 min's just trying to choose what I want to eat.
Finally tell myself I'm just playing for a hour, but it turns out to be the whole day.

Making ugly Scott and beautiful Sara, then probably quitting the game and writing a fake review with fake spoilers on BSN calling it 'the worst game ever, as if Tommy Wiseau wanted to make a Big Rigs sequel'. I'll probably throw in a paragraph about SJWs ruining everything and that BioWare is on a warpath against white men. Then maybe I'll jump into multiplayer to check out the gameplay, and eventually I'll actually play the game. Are you actually Dutch in disguise? If so, hi Dutch. No, he's Polish. |

Step Three: Wait for three of my four days off for the patch to download probably.
Step Four: Spend the entire fourth day trying to get Scott juuuust right.

Oh, I'm definitely going to check out the hairstyles first thing. After DAI, I want to see if 20 buzzcuts are going to be a recurring theme. =p
If I'm on early access, I'll probably hang out in the CC as I won't want to go too far and spoil too much. Once the game is officially out, it'll be a quick character and I'll be super engrossed in the story. Won't remember to take screenshots or make multiple saves. I will jot down some notes on "why" I decided to do this or that because that's my favorite part of forum discussions, the thought process behind decisions and if it ends up backfiring in the long run. The first playthrough is the most honest one, you know?

depending on how nice the CC is, i'll probably spend a fair amount a time there, or go with the defaults. (sara's adorable, okay?) regardless of how that goes, i know i'll be spending so much time looking at the scenery and taking so. many. screenshots.  Yeah, I've never been one to take a lot of screenies myself, but definitely can appreciate when other people take some gorgeous ones for people to enjoy. Can't wait to see them! |

I don't know who is this "Dutch" you're talking about, I returned here after 'hi Dutch' became everyone's favorite response. In case you didn't notice, openly posting about an intent of writing a troll fake review that uses buzzwords before playing it isn't all that serious, and from what I imagine about 'Dutch' (if it's the same person who uses the Ed Harris Westworld avatar) he is/was less open about his shitposting. Whoever suggested I thought you were "serious"? Dutch is the champion of all things "The Witcher 3" and the hater of all things related to BioWare. He has been spouting his "views" for years on the Old BSN and continues to spout his "views" daily on here. Miraculously after hating everything BioWare stands for, he still seems to be one of their most active and avid followers. Anyway, it sounds like you'll be having loads of fun playing MEA early on. Dutch deserves a codex just for him, honestly. |

Just so you know, your save data in the free trial can be carried over when the game is officially released. You could spend the entire 10 hours getting your CC just right and when March 21/23 is here you can continue where you left off.  I should actually take some screenshots. I'll probably turn everything up to maximum just to make them as gorgeous as possible. I'm actually somewhat surprised BioWare hasn't even given an estimate of how long MEA is. They were pretty upfront about saying DAI would take about 120 hours to complete, which is actually about what it took me when I was doing a completionist run the first time around. |

Since progress in the story will likely be locked beyond a certain point in the trial, I'll be starting out with the story for a couple of hours and then shift to MP. Which is probably a good thing anyway since I've never been much of an MP-player and this'll likely get me much more active on that front.
And like everyone else I'll probably spend way too long in the CC.

Agreed, thats why I tweeted Ian about it. I guess my advantage would be that I'll get the game at earliest the 24th, so I would know how the customizations affects Alec. March 24? I'd be happy to tell you how it works since I'll be playing via Origin on March 16. That's of course if somebody else doesn't beat me to the punch, which is quite possible. Of course, I think March 16 is probably going to be a crazy day with some trolls trying to post spoilers in the forums to ruin the beginning of the story for folks. Either way, I'm hopeful BioWare took a common sense approach and doesn't make the character creation too convoluted. |

Beyond the inevitable checking the character creator one the first thing i'll be doing is opening up the menu and looking at all the skills and their evolutions to work out what my level up priorities will be.
