Peebee's Loyalty Mission - First 17 min. (IGN) [SPOILERS]

I have something in my throat after watching this. It was depressively unimpressive. It's the marketing though. They cut out any part that might've actually been interesting and showed off all the busywork like going through a cave... slowly. The banter sucks. It's all meandering and the tone is so saturday morning cartoon. This probably isn't the game I'm waiting to play after all, but I'm 100% sure they could've shown something else that's more exciting than this.

Mac's tweet doesn't make it any better. "Loyalty missions are back and better than ever before". Seriously, just shup up Mac. We're aware you've been slacking and don't actually care that your game is kind of boring and unimpressive, but that nonchalant comparison is laughable.

Yeah, I'm thinking it could be either Kett or just some other Heleous local weapon.

Wouldn't it make sense that your helmet or visor has some kind of scan UI like Iron Man that could light the world that way? And not a slow wrist mounted option.

This is more or less what I expected. It would have been nice to see the dialogue wheel, but other than that the game seems to be coming along well enough. Hopefully the facial animations do improve with the day one patch, as those are still a bit awkward.

BioWare really shouldn't allow the gaming media to do videos. They are almost always terrible at the game and make the combat look far worse than it actually is.

Working my way through the video while multitasking.

Coupla of initial thoughts:

1) There do NOT appear to be any spoilers for those of you on the fence about watching.
2) Combat does appear to be intense!
3) They have reused assets from DAI but in a good way it appears. I did notice that when PeeBee went down in combat Ryder had to run over to her to "revive" her ala DAI style rather than the old Mass Effect way. I have no problems with that as risking running out in the middle of a big fight to revive a party member was kinda tense in DAI or could be!
4) If you wanted a real combat video this does appear to be it.

I don't really see the issue with Sara's face at 12s. What should a person's expression be when getting surprise launched from an escape pod? At least she's not still maintaining that lobotomy patient smile the whole time... It's nowhere near the pistol disarming derp stare of cringe from that notorious preview footage a while back.

The problem, as always, is the blank--almost brain dead--expression. The Ryder twins look they are blind. Their eyes don't seem to actually look at people and objects as much as look through people. It's jarring and will probably be the reason I end up returning the game because unlike an ugly face (Sara is not ugly) I can't change that dull, soulless, cow-eyed stare in the character creator.

I thought that it looked like a lot of fun! Honestly the only problem that I had with the video was that the guy playing it did NOT know what the Frell he was doing - I don't care how many times he claimed to have played it!

Edit: Jesus do yourself a favour and avoid that comment section. It's too late for me but save yourself!

Sad part is that there are really no consequences for skipping squaddy's missions apparently. You just have less content with that character.
