Nitpicking is strong in this thread. It's called criticism - customers do that... Especially the hand holding dialogue criticism from SAM. I do not want to be constantly updated on the obvious on what I'm to do from SAM. Let it come in natural ambient banter from the squad or not at all.

Because they have no clue why this mechanic worked in Witcher... it's not a gimmick, it's a tool for environmental storytelling. Yeah, as if scanning in Witcher wasn't often used just to follow some tracks or to highlight an object to interact with... Sure, but you usually could find clues without it too... it just was harder. Only a hand full of quests actually required you to use it.

Need more explosions and bling bling 6 out of Transformers Jk, gameplay looks good, the guy who played it sucks, PeepsBs looks more like Sera than before, Drack is a walking tank, Jarvis will assist Ryder ALOT and Tela Vasir found her way to Andromeda (is that the Asari Pathfinder??)

Good...would have gotten annoying real quick if this was present throughout the whole game

Everything looks really good, aside from the dummie playing it. Typical IGN.

Really, usually I am not one to criticize a person's play style, but if you are a gaming journalist, and if you are going to showcase a gameplay section of an upcoming game, please pick someone who can actually play it well. It was cringe worthy how bad they were playing it. Sadly, that is playing it "well" for a journalist. Just try not to miss any details you might be too interested in because you can't help but to roll your eyes when they take 5 seconds to react to the situation.

Hmmmmmm? It's pretty? Combat lacked some oompf in this video , gave me the impression Ryder had a peashooter. Rest was people talking just for the sake of talking , and non-combat gameplay : MEA Scan All The Things ! and monologue about it...which reminds me of a certain game !
Those 17 minutes were kind of boring for me overall, but without more context for the story etc, I'm unsure what to say .

The Good: The game looks beautiful, and the gameplay seems fun. Drack wrecking enemies in charges. Although Peebee seems like she's going to be an acquired taste, I like that squadmates seem to comment often during exploration. That's a big change from DA:I, where it tended to get quiet outside Skyhold.
The Bad: Enemies that are bullet sponges. I hope that isn't the case with all mooks and mobs. Not a lot of story content or character interaction for a loyalty mission, though it sounds as if that is just to due to editing to avoid spoilers.
The Ugly: Facial animations. Those are most certainly going to be bad at release.

Petroshenko it's been answered SomebodyOfNobody @of_somebody One concern though. This is a loyalty mission. Why are mechanics just getting introduced here? Ian S. Frazier @tibermoon
Because we like to make Loyalty missions unique and memorable! With narrative twists, gameplay twists, or both.

Do... people not get that Ryder's funny expression during that capsule launch was intentionally funny? It's a gag.

Damn, I was hoping that the scan function would work like in Metroid Primes, it doesn't appear so.
Also, am I the only one that can't stand SAM's voice ?
Otherwise combats looks fun but I don't understand why they decided to edit out music and dialogue choices. We've seen enough of the combat.

My opinion: - Ryder animation at 0'12 is terrible with her staring at Peebee,... it was painful to watch Endless torture coming right up then, mate. I'd like to see you in the same situation. People do funny faces sometimes. That said, i don't want to sound too apologetic, facial expressions are nothing amazing but i maintain, they are fine for an RPG.

Bullet sponges are truly existent in The Division, this is heaven.

Ryder's facial expressions look a bit exaggerated. I get that they want her to be expressive but I think the issues with the facial animations would be less glaring if she didn't emote (is that the right word?) so much. It would probably look better if they toned it down a bit. I'm worried that what looks awkward on default Ryder will end up looking horrible on custom Ryders. I think that's the main issue with the facial animation as well. The Shepard trilogy wasn't exactly perfect either, but overall the facial animations looked better because the devs tried to do less. If a character smiled it was more often a slight smirk for instance, than a big toothy grin. The meme-worthy moments with facial animations in the Shepard trilogy were from the moments were they went for that big toothy grin.

You are right, she did develop into a better character unlike Sera. But that first scene in the belly of the ship where she starts hoppin up on things like a 6 year old talking about being a pirate. Shudder.

Do... people not get that Ryder's funny expression during that capsule launch was intentionally funny? It's a gag. The whole scene was comical and Ian said there's an actual a dialogue wheel that was cut by IGN. People want to find reasons to complain about this game, but to me, nothing about it is game-breaking, so I love it.

Brad Muse @its_BradM Is that unique to the early build you gave for press purposes? So the mission/dialog is slightly diff in final build?
Ian S. Frazier @tibermoon No. I mean that the game has worked like X for many hours, then you get to that mission and it suddenly works like Y, so some >
Ian S. Frazier @tibermoon degree of exposition is necessary, or it doesn't make sense.
