No kidding. The people who are still butthurt about the various endings to ME3 are just as bad Star Wars prequel haters. The crybabies got their wish in both cases with a new game that is set in new galaxy where the endings won't affect you and a new set of movies and yet they still won't shut the fuck up about how their feeling were hurt by BioWare and George Lucas. Hah, well, maybe MEA is so bad people start appreciating ME3 again... worked for me with EP7 and the prequels. Even money says that will happen regardless if ME:A is good or bad.

It won't. Most people who buy games usually don't hang around in foruns and other places where the game is discussed (and where the haters/trolls stay).
At most they watch trailers and other videos on youtube (or links to the site via twitter/facebook) and tv spots.

You know I generally like to be critic about things I like because I'd love for them to be better so I usually point out things that I find annoying so that maybe (most likely not) some BW dev lurking secretly in this forum can take them in consideration.
I must admit though that the criticism we got on YT is simply beyond ridiculous. I get it ME3 ending wasn't good and DA:I wasn't stellar either as game. However IMO the overall quantity of these critics are first and foremost excessive considering how very little we know about the game. Secondly the quality of the criticism also left a lot to be desired, when people are not merely stating "this sucks" or "EA sucks", they go on full rampage mode about tiny little details that probably a patch can solve.
Am I believing that this game will be good? Not sure, time will tell. Am I believing that the game will fail? Too early to tell
What is IMO the most sensible thing to do as a ME fan? Be realistically positive in the hope the game will deliver while not avoiding even strong constructing criticism when the product is released.

If it was DA franchise I would say "I HOPE INTERNET BURIES THIS GAME FOREVER", but it is ME, it has always been action shit so whatever, I might was well hope the game is great and sells incredibly well to raise the chances that EA focus on ME and lets DA die. ME fans become happier with more games and I don't see yet another game completely destroying what Dragon Age Origins did, seems amazing. MEA sells billions, EA doubles the crew, one ME game per year, expand the franchise, tons of DLC and DA rests in peace, how about that?

It has also worked with every BioWare game too for there has been a negative reaction to every BioWare game I have seen proclaiming the last one was better. It happened with Dragon Age: Origins and how people were talking about how much better Baldur's Gate was or Mass Effect 1 when it was a betrayal not to do a Star Wars game. Hindsight always seems to have people ignoring the flaws in the games.

Most of these people who are sipping on the hatorade will buy the game anyway. They just want attention for being "edgy" I swear: to all those on ign video that say Sara looks shit, hate Peebee, or saying the animations suck i want somehow to hammer punch them in the face repeatedly through my monitor through a magical portal at the time they start typing their hatefull comment (like hulkbusted did to hulk) so hard their teeth fall of. Criticism is another thing than blatant hating Andromeda looks better than most games out there in graphics, animations, facial expressions etc.

ME is not my franchise of choice, DA is but I did not spent a cent on DA until I felt they deserved it... and I felt wrong, SO WRONG. When I watched DAI alpha videos and they constantly saying franchise was going back to be more like DAO I thought, hey, that's it, then I bought DAO, DA2 and all DLC for both... and they made DAI worse than I could have ever imagined possible. Bioware will never see a cent of mine ever again. So, no, I don't think people are being edgy, I think a lot of people like me think a game must be worthy for you to spend money on it, sometimes not even the game, the company or the franchise. Most people that buy the games are not fans, fans are critics to bullshit instead of eating all garbage in front of them, most people buy the game, finish it once, step midway through or never even try. That's why BiEAoware happily says "DAI IS DA BEST LAUNCH" but won't say how failed it was after launch, because after launch awfulness shows. I think MEA will sell well, it is action bullshit after all, but I don't think fans will love it all that much. If I loved previous ME games combat system I wouldn't touch Andromeda. Like DAI to DAO it is a HUGE SHIFT towards action from ME3. There are two reasons I support MEA combat: 1 - It is better to have good action than DAI's shitty combat; 2- I don't care about ME, it has always been action bullshit But again, if I put myself in ME fans shoes, if I think about it like I think about DA, this game would be a no go. Improvement is what Assassin's Creed did from the first to their last game, DA and ME just changes thing, no improvement (perhaps ME1 -> ME2 could be considered improvement from some...), Bioware games do not grow and mature, they change back to square one, they start all over again, and again and again... So again, why think people are hating without reason when there is plenty of reason to hate? ME had the upper hand when compared to DA because at least ME had ME2->ME3 game identity, which DA didn't, DA had a new identity each game, everything changed. Now in MEA Bioware changed ME identity so it is understandable that some fans could hate this game. It just trashes everything you knew and did about ME-Verse, Shephard is irrelevant (borg'd) and combat is completely new. Again, if I think as fan, why the hell would I want to go back to the franchise? I understand a lot of people will love it, people who like change, who want to see new this, have new experiences and so on. And that's ok, but to think that the other lot of people won't hate this 100% change is naive and call them "attention whores" is just narrow thinking, it is believing everybody is open to changes and welcomes a completely new galaxy/story/etc which obviously show contradiction with most of what we know about humans since we still do things like thousands of years ago, we, as a race, like continuity, stability and such. I hate change, I'm a statue (sadly, not literally) but I understand other people like change, if you welcome change it is that hard for you to understand that other people hate it?

If I want to be as frank as possible:
Those of us in doubt will sit on the fence until enough feedback is available.
Day one buyers are already committed regardless.
There will probably be some synergy at retail outlets via product placement.
I think it will probably overall sell somewhere between 1.5 to 2.3 in its first month or so. Maybe get to overall 5 million sales via its lifetime.
Biased part of me says the internet grumblings will effect some sales but the part of me that's trying to be even minded...maybe a slight effect on those just getting into the series.
Bioware might convince some detractors over time but it all remains to be seen after it launches. All of its guesswork right now.

Did you bother upping the difficulty or even enabling trials on dragon age? Did you even play Jaws of hakkon? the bosses in there are superior to previous da combat. and No daO combat was nothing special. it was serviceable and even then it felt like fighting in molassa ( i enjoyed it still cause i love Da games)

Did Infinite Warfare flop because of internet hate, or did it flop because it was a lackluster effort in a very oversaturated, tired franchise? Ironically it didn't flop at all, although most threw their money for CoD4 remastered so just goes to show that Activision knows how to bait their fanbase

People are still butthurt about ME3 endings, so I would say yes. Anybody who's still butthurt about that needs to get over it. Seriously. Games like this are about the journey, not the destination. If the preceding 99% of the game hadn't been glorious and magnificent, there would have been a valid complaint. Yes, the original ending was terrible, they fixed it, and life went on. In the meantime, the rest of the game was awesome, and Citadel made me laugh harder than any game this serious had any right to. Maybe it's because I'm older now, but the internet hate is just funny to me (for the most part, mind you. The violent and "-ist" stuff is still awful). I love going to the user reviews of Metacritic and laugh at people giving AAA games 0 ratings for the tiniest of flaws. "OK, fine, it's incredible, but it rained on my walk to EB Games, so 0". The critic reviews will sell it (or not) to those on the fence.

Cause all these 3 games have their issues. Short answer: Of course it falls in AAA category. are you serious? Of course and smaller scale game focused on production values like uncharted will look better.

As much as some people here would be happy if the game failed because of them and Bioware and EA were forced to shut down and never make another game again (hi guys)...
No. Your bitching on an internet forum is not going to be the downfall of Bioware or EA.
Sorry.

I think so. It's wouldn't drive off existing fans of the franchise, but I think newcomers interested in the game could be turned off by all of the hate. Whether or not a lot of this hate is valid or not is yet to be determined. If the game turns out to be really good I imagine even a lot of the current haters would end up picking it up.

COD IW isn't really a good comparison as that has some outside reasons for not selling well"
-The game is part of a yearly franchise so people can tire from it much quicker -Many people were upset about the remaster of Modern Warfare being locked to IW and decided not to buy it.
Deus Ex is also another game that was victimized before released due to bad and controversial marketing campaign (that Kickstarter pre-order mess that locked content to the number of pre-orders done)

With mainstream advertisement It'll grab the attention of new fans, like Fallout 4 did to the series. I am sure that it'll sell a lot and it would be the old fans will who dislike/hate it. Everyone I know who's only played FO4 really enjoys it while people I know who have played New Vegas, for example, say that it's "too different". I think that'll be the same for Andromeda. Most new fans don't look at forums - I don't, though I should.

No, not at all. Internet hate is only noticeable because it's loud, in the figurative sense. No matter what people on this board tell you, these people are nowhere close to being the majority -- they're just a very vocal minority. You have to remember that the people who vocalize their hate on the internet really hated the game. It's like internet reviews -- unless they are made by a professional reviewer, most customer or user reviews are either extremely negative or extremely positive. People are rarely compelled to action by objectivity and neutrality.
So, no, OP. Internet hate won't affect sales of Andromeda one bit.
