Sorry for the Rando Calrissian topic, but I've seen conflicting things...
How do we carry more than two weapons? I've heard it comes from the soldier profile... Is it a passive that goes away when we switch profiles? Is it a skill we have to have on whatever set of favorites wheel we are using? Is it an unlock from leveling the Soldier profile that only lasts when we're in that profile? Etc?
I have no idea, but any clarification would help, if anyone knows! Please and thanks!

I think Ryder can just carry up to four weapons at all time.

By default, you can carry 2 weapons.
The Combat Fitness skill line in the Combat skill group allows you to increase that limit to 3 or even 4, along with an increase in your weight capacity (how much weight worth of guns you can carry without it hurting your cooldowns).
Your active profile may affect your weight capacity, but it never changes how many weapons you can carry at once--that's 100% based on the Combat Fitness skill. If you want to be an Adept that carries 4 guns, more power to you!

I somehow thought combat was exclusive to soldier, leveling-wise. Then I am genuinely excited for the possibilities. Seriously, though, this will be the first time I don't rock a straight-through soldier on the campaign. Thanks for the answer, Ian, you're the best.

I think it's one close combat weapon plus two guns from the start, plus two additional ones via skills.
Looking at the standard armor hard points, one can realistically carry two on the upper back, one on the lower back, and one on each hip.
...checks out.

Honestly, I ended the Reaper threat with almost a Phalanx and Vindicator the whole way through. I just like knowing I had the Widow in case (AND KNOW A F*** SWORD, OMG HEARTS)

From what I understand, Soldier class will get extra buffs and whatnot for those skills, but none of the skills are necessarily class exclusive. Except for stuff like combat drone.

I.... may have gone back and re-watched the gameplay videos, and heck if Ian didn't just explain what they did. I missed it, because my dumba** was too busy just watching all the pretty pictures, at the time, and seemed to have missed a few details, here and there.

Only decrease have been shown, regular weapons seam to not get you bonuses... so you start at 100% and can only go down. Maybe there are upgrades or skills that get you more then that.

It tops out at 100%, not 200 this time around. If you plan on using light weapons, you might as well carry some assault rifle or sniper rifle as a backup if you have the weight capacity this time, there's no benefit to going super light as long as you're still at that 100% cap.

I imagine all of the cooldown bonuses would come from leveling up, equipment sets, and crafting now. I'm sure weapon skill ranks will have something to do with it, too.

If, say, your weight capacity through your skills, weapons, whatever is 50 pounds (or whatever), and you're running around with a pistol and a sniper rifle that add up to 30 pounds, you might as well grab something to fill in that extra 20 pounds, because the hard cap for cooldown bonus is going to be 100%, you're not going to get an extra bonus for being under that. Or, I mean, don't. I'm not going to tell you how to play. But, for me, if there's no benefit to being under, I'll probably carry around an extra "oh shit" button just in case.

So 2 for starters and 4 if you level up, for every class. That's actually pretty cool!
Although I only plan on using one: The RevenantTM
Here's a real question: Does anyone know if we can carry 2 different assault rifles? Or 2 different sniper rifles?

I counted the cooldown time for overload in the IGN video and it was 30 seconds. I believe that whatever choices we make (weapon's weight, ability development etc ) we will never be able to get shorter cooldowns than 9-10 seconds in this game. I personally like this. Space magic is cool but I didn't like seeing players using an ability every 3 seconds.

Considering there's abilities that don't have cooldowns at all, I'm sure we can get them lower than 10 and the game is balanced for it. Either way, the cooldowns in the IGN video weren't optimal at all and were akin to level 1 with no points in fitness.
