MEA Soundtrack (Official Thread)

So what you guys are saying is that they are not bringing Johnny Cash back from the dead to compose the score even though one of his songs was in a trailer??

Just get Muse to compose it. I would be ok with weird alternative sci fi rock music again.

Personally, I like it. I enjoy the synthy sci-fi vibes, as they give me a lot of nostalgia for that feel of corny retro sci-fi wonder that ME1 had. That said, I do feel like it traded out a bit of the identity that Jack Wall/Sam Hulick's iconic themes had. New galaxy, new characters, new music I guess, and it's hardly fair to judge it right now, but I do hope the new composer attempts to capture some of the old magic that played a huge part in the series from the beginning. Just catching some little hints of the old main theme would do wonders for drawing me right back into the MEverse. Along with Vigil and the Uncharted Worlds theme, of course.

But all things considered, yeah, I'm optimistic here.

I remember being seriously blown away by DA:I's bombtastic new main theme pre-release...haven't quite gotten that yet with ME:A but who knows, maybe we'll be surprised. 

Hopefully it doesn't take cues from Inquisition though - as in, having a great soundtrack and barely using it at all throughout the game. :S

Knowing BioWare we will probably get a bad sound track and hear it all the time.

I think it's fine. It's good, for what it is.
It's emotional kick, so to say, though will be in its use in context. How does it enhance the playing experience when you're...travelling/driving/shooting/talking, etc. For that, we would need to play the game

I like what I hear so far.

The theme in the AI soundtrack is quite simple. It goes like E-B-C, E-G-A, E-B-C, and D-G-D-E (please correct me if I'm wrong. Not a perfect-pitch here.). It has some dissonance in there that gives mysterious vibe but not too much thanks to the long pause between B and C. I hope we hear more on this theme. It has potential.

Complete disaster. I think the composer of this drivel should be hanged, drawn, and quartered. This is a disgrace of unmentionable proportions. Let's face it, we've hit rock bottom. If you're going to tell me that don't have a problem with this, then don't bother, because I already know that you are dishonest. The person who wrote this music must be the one who put the raccoon paint on PeeBee's face. Speaking of PeeBee, I hate her with every fiber of my being. I hate her as though she sneaked into my house in the middle of the night, ate my 3 month old baby, spat out the bones, and arranged them in the shape of a dickbutt. That's how much I'm offended by her. I poured bleach into my ears after hearing her speak in the last demo. She's an affront to the science of psychology. No one talks like that. Not in those circumstances. Is this an insult on our intelligence? I also gouged my eyes out after seeing those animations. But not before stabbing them with a rusty screwdriver. This is the thing that should not be ... this is what Lovecraft warned us about. I ... I hear knocking at my door. It must be the BW cultists, cannibals ... please, let my story be heard ... don't let me ... don't ... PeeBee.... no....

I was going to say almost exactly the same things.  Focusing on the piano gets me every time.

Pretty good, very Mass Effecty, just not very memorable.

Although so far we only know of one composer and two pieces of untitled OST's.

Not all OST's were amazing in ME trilogy, so we gotta wait and hear when full list comes out.

The second track is not from Mass Effect Andromeda:

We heard nothing of MEA soundtrack so far, except, to my knowledge, the briefing theme, which is pretty good.
