Can my Ryder identify as a gender that can only be properly conveyed through slam poetry?

The eyes in this game look like eyes from bronze ancient Greek statues made up from enamel... The statue looks like it has more life...

Oof, those dead eyes on Scott and the human woman he talks to. The aliens look fine in closeups. Hopefully this is fixed by the time we get to release. Look at the Turian's eyes clip through his lids lol.

Well...let's hope this build was an early one and that they have fixed the facial animations here. Otherwise I can see many memes being created out of these people. Yeah. I'm sorry if all people think it's just hating, but Andromeda's graphics are not looking good. At all. Am I confusing things? I don't remember Inquisition having this kind of issues. I still remember seeing Solas for the first time and thinking: "Damn, this is one realistic looking elf!" So far, even the Krogan to me are looking wrong, lacking details (no, I'm not saying the females). That turian in this video is so weird looking, in so many levels.

The Citadel held, iirc, 11 million. Why would the AI need something of comparable size for 100,000? Especially when most of those are going to be colonizing planets. I doubt it's actually of comparable size... IGN didn't quite know what they talk about there, I recon. Also: I guess the station will eventually be a trade and governmental hub as the Citadel, so people will live and work there, even if the actually have a home on one of the colonies. Maybe comparable playable area.

I wonder if some of it's due to the introduction of mocap for the first time?

It would also be useful since its mobile as a HQ if we ever decide to expand colonization out to the other clusters of Andromeda.

That womans face is pretty bad I admit, looks more like a living plastic doll or an android with a synthetic skin than a human. Still better than Deus ex HR, but not by much, and way better than Alan Wake(that game had some of the worst facial animations). Kinda reminded me of some faces from ME1, but that game is 10 years old. Also Foster looks younger in the profiles, but thats to be expected, shes 30 or so years older now, and that age shows.
It seems some people, especially humans, look more artificial than others. Ryders dad for instance looked pretty ok in the 13 min preview, as did the asari doctor(uncounting a few uncanny moments) and Cora. Im guessing they focused more on the more important characters you see alot on your ship and story. Meh. Its not a game breaker, but I wonder is it really this difficult to get the faces at least somewhat right, its been 5 years.

It looks like character models got low priority, animations included. I notice all the Asari appear to have the same face model. This should have recieved more attention in a cinematic RPG.

Addison in the exploration video: I recognized her as the one in the exploration video immediately due to her incredibly overdone makeup... Like... why? However, I never would have guessed it was Foster Addison. Originally, she looked like this: Completely different hair colour and eye colour, not to mention the lack of makeup. Also, maybe the eyes would look better if they didn't look so surprised at all times? It's nice to see from the video you can make the "classic Shepard" N7 armour. I know I want to make myself a set of that for Ryder Indeed! I actually noticed this back in December, from the gameplay video, but I forgot to mention it. Here: I'll definitely use that at least for a bit, for the novelty. But I also like that it looks more armoured than most of the MEA armour we've seen, particularly the abdomen. I hope they do a tour of the Tempest, too!

Whoosh. That was a hot mess of really fine-looking and really crude-looking. That elevator transition... is that an unfinished asset or something? Also, once again, when you can see the camera spinning the nexus that looks so crude and rough in how little smoothing there is I start getting KoA vibes again.
This game is truly starting to appear like some kind of B-Team effort. I still think it's going to be good but the technical aspects look bonkers. I also understand what the IGN gal meant when she said "Sims 3-like animations" now or rather, the generic humans you saw here. Boy do they look boring and plain.

Guess so, yeah. A lot of people left development, IIRC. 4 people is a lot???? Those are the stories you heard. In the BioWare company reviews on Glassdoor one says Montreal lost 13 leads during this project and Edmonton lost 4. That's a sign that it's not gone well since Montreal was supposed to be the main ppl behind the project but it seems part of the reason why Austin and Edmonton has lend their hand so much is because Montreal was overtasked and understaffed maybe. They also said something recently, I think it was Aaryn Flynn, that Montreal works on this game divided into smaller groups of people. We're talking Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric sized team here, folks. EDIT: shit, didn't mean to triple-post. I wanted to bundle it together. Oops

I can't believe how bad/absent the facial animations are, and those eyes! If they're the windows to the soul it seems the colonists lost theirs somewhere in dark space. It's distractingly bad and a noticeable step back from DAI to me. At this stage I'm assuming they're shipping the game with it, hopefully it's fixable but I feel like retroactively adding decent facial animations is not gonna happen.

Gameplay and Story >>>>>>>>>> Graphics.
Great graphics don't make a great game. Everyone's heard that at least once. It's one of the cardinal rules of gaming. No not rule, more like wisdom. Actually scratch that, more like common sense. But boy are people willing to just toss that into the wind when it comes to Bioware games. Everyone else gets a pass. But Bioware? Fuck them I guess.
You can have the best graphics and facial animations in the industry. But that won't amount to anything if the game itself isn't good.
The Order: 1886. Nuff said.

While true to a certain extent, Bioware appears to have regressed on character design and facial animation. Characters in ME:A look worse than those in DA:I, and ME:A is created entirely for newer hardware.
