I feel like the marketing for the game has been all about 'Buy this because...er....it's a Bioware game and that's why you should buy it!" other than explaining why. And of course this appeals to Bioware fans and I absolutely don't think the games features should adapt for a more wider audience (such as less focus on plots) but it isn't the appropriate marketing technique. Secondly I feel like Bioware is terrified of us, we demand to see more gameplay and so they dish out a tonne of gameplay, we complain about the facial animations and suddenly they are reluctant to show cutscenes. My last point is that I felt the cinematic trailers did not do anything for me, by that mean there did not seem like any mystery or intrigue. (Although I will say a lot of good games or movies have terrible trailers.) but especially for a new game showing off an overused villain such as Archon (impression from the trailer) was not a good idea I kinda experimented and made an unofficial trailer that I thought was more effective (Just a little tinge of bias).
What do you guys think of the marketing?

No. I find myself beyond hyped by the Initiative videos and the few videos they have dropped elsewhere. If anything, I like that they aren't showing us much so we go in and get to explore and discover most of the game instead of be sold on the game by seeing all of it.

Marketing starting later in the cycle=/=marketing is disappointing.
No, the marketing isn't disappointing. Lack of polish in some areas is disappointing as is the fact that most of the footage so far is without the likely huge ass patch they have coming to fix all of these issues, but I'm not disappointed in the overall framework or what we've gotten so far.

Hell no the marketing hasn't been dissapointing. Granted if you asked me this question a month ago I might have given you a maybe on this but they have hit the blitz button. They were going to get to this material eventually so the only question became when, and when has been now.

Yeah, I don't think anyone would want that as it takes away from the experience. I didn't even like the idea they released the first 13 minutes of the game.

I don't think its been very good - aside from the combat video - but I wouldn't call it disappointing because I don't really care about it. The quality of the marketing is for Bioware to worry about, not the fans.

I mean it could help to bring in new fans? And its not awful I'm not saying that but some people who perhaps see some of the marketing and think to themselves 'meh' may not buy the game.

There still is the launch trailer to look forward too. And I will admit when I saw one of the trailers before I watched a different youtube video I felt kinda proud XD

If most websites covering video games are including your game in a list of most anticipated games of 2017, I'd say your doing pretty well...

Could be better, much better but I'm glad they try to be more quiet about story itself, it makes me more curious, like when I first started playing ME1.

Marketing has been great. Fan service has been pretty low. I think that is the best way to put it. There has been a lot of information about the game and most of the time it gets a lot of social media coverage and interest after so to me that has shown that marketing has been doing its job. I just don't think the people that want information on the story or anything that might relate to the story will have been given what they want to see, but that should be known they will avoid as much as possible since that is exactly what they did with Dragon Age: Inquisition as well.

Not at all, very impressed with what I see and can hardly wait to start playing, like purchasing anything, the decision to spend or walk is up to the individual.

Well they should probably release less buggy cut scenes. Like especially if the same scene shows up in another video a week later looking a lot better coz they squashed most of the bugs, why would you ever release the earlier build? All it does is generate a bunch of criticism.

Well I admit I had some reservations, the briefings have gotten me hyped, especially the exploration video. So in that sense, I suppose for me the marketing would be sufficient.

All I want is for one single video of a multiplayer match. It would show how multiplayer works, it would show combat in action, it would show combos. I need actual footage of people playing the game rather than the cinematography with guns that they've shown so far.

Marketing so far has been underwhelming.
Although there has been major increase in marketing, there is still no marketing blitz Bioware needs to do.
I guess they are gonna weight the most on PAX East and upcoming 10 Hour Trial.

gotta say I do actually like the way the marketing has been done this time, all I really want to see now is the CC & I'm happy, it's so hard to go into games blind nowadays with so many info sites & even accidental spoilers.
Just my opinion.

Marketing has been decent. If people aren't paying enough attention that's just because this is Zelda's month. Yeah I don't know why they decided to release on the same month of a new Nintendo console and Zelda game lol.

What do you guys think of the marketing? I would like to think they know a thing or two about marketing games by now. If not, EA does. Are you buying it? Yes? Then the marketing worked.
