Let me introduce myself: Guy with a lame connection.Do n't know what a great connection is. Up till this month I had the $40 connection AND YES that is only 0.50MBs. I upped it to $50 this month and only now get 1.00MBs and they say If want the max they offer: 3MBs then I need to go to $100!!!!! Also before anyone suggests getting another provider -these rip-offers are the only ones in this area... unless i want Dial-Up... oye I remember those days. It is a shame though if I was going to have to download ME:A it would not fair well since I use this connection for work as well.
Out of sheer morbid curiosity, where the hell are connections that bad? That's even worse than satellite.

Why put a download code in a box?
Are people really so stupid they can't find the code online?
Who exactly are you making these games for again?

Don't have satellite connection possibility without charging arm and leg for being in the mountain area...150 easy. Wow. That's triple the typical price. Who's charging that, anyway? HughesNet? Doesn't matter for this purpose, though, since installing ME:A would blow your data cap on just about any satellite plan. You wouldn't have to necessarily move to Europe to get a disk copy working. I've heard of people activating foreign versions with VPNs.

I would order off amazon uk if it would ship here but that is also digital. :wtf: :rage: This makes me wonder about all those others in North America with slow speed internet who want to to play this game but just can't.

I always thought the boxes existed so stores woukd have something to put on their shelves. But since PC stores have gone away.... There was a time when those boxes were filled with disks that went in optical drives so at a time they were worth the shelve space. Now days they just do this I think as sly-marketing: See game in store and think that looks interesting get home and find out it is download code and not disk. Person throws out the box and code and never buys one of those companies games again -if like me...which most aren't.

E f**ing A doesn't give a crap because their metrics says they only "lose a few" sales and the cost savings far outweigh the loss. Ordering the game from the UK (for example) and using a VPN may solve the problem. But, (a) "it may solve" the issue (no guarantee) and ( the total cost of playing this game becomes ludicrous. To get back at EA, buying this game on a big sale event is one way to give EA the finger.

If it is like DAI? You have ~20 abilities, can map up to 8 on the controller and I really only use 4.
No camera control in dialogues for keyboard/mouse No contextual hiding UI for keyboard/mouse Massive taskbar at the bottom of the screen for keyboard/mouse
I cannot imagine using a stick on the controller to slowly move the crosshair to where I want to shoot. Maybe everything is auto-aim like in DAI or area effects.
I only ever really played a melee character in DAI, for mages or bow-users it is holding down a button and the targets are automatically chosen. Whatever is closest in the direction you are looking at.

Unfortunately I was misinformed about this, and tweeted a correction earlier today when I found out: the disc version for pc is apparently NOT in North America. It is in Europe, but in NA it's just a d/l code in the box. I'm not sure about other territories. Apologies for my mistake. :-( A bummer. Sure, I was getting the digital version, but it's weird that the region with vastly superior internet speeds and a severe and amazing lack of idiotic data caps gets the game on disc, but North America with its stupid ISPs, infrastructure, and data limits has to download nearly 60Gb and hope they don't get throttled or have an overage fee. Not your fault, but it's something that's silly and EA should think about.

Fun story: In my previous apartment in Chicago (the south side, across the street from the newly installed 'First Date' monument commemorating Barack and Michelle's first date at what used to be a Baskin Robbins [now Subway] - no kidding) my monthly $40 AT&T connection was so unreliable that I had to keep calling technicians. I was finally told that the problem was most likely 'squirrels chewing on the cables'.

As already mentioned, It's all about the money and Consoles is where the money is at. I remember when EA said they were going to go all digital to eliminate the middle man and save on costs which then they could pass on to us. It would have been fine except there was no savings passed on to us. DAI clearly shows their concern for PC users and where we fall on the food chain. Get used to it, because unless PC sales zoom past console sales, PC users will continue be the red-headed step child of gaming. *No offense intended to any red-headed step-children.

I was finally told that the problem was most likely 'squirrels chewing on the cables'. When my father finally decided to get internet to his house several years ago, I had to spend a month on the phone with AT&T fighting with them because they insisted the internet was working, but it wasn't. A month later, they finally sent someone to his house, and discovered that birds had been nesting in the box on top the telephone pole. They fixed the internet! Then I had to spend another month calling them because when they fixed his internet, they broke his phone.

Over the years even prior to EA doing it there has been reports of games on Steam doing the exact same thing. Its the same in the UK, if you look at the Amazon store page it is either a "Digital Key in a Box" or "Origin Key", the first is like it says a CD Key in a box and the second is they email you an Origin key. It could be different if gamers will willing to pay prices that were adjusted by inflation, I bought Final Fantasy VI (or III outside Japan) I paid $80 for it for the SNES. If the inflation for Canada is correct it would cost me $120 today if inflation kept steady.

Yes they do hate them and they should. It is all the pc players faults we got the me3 ending, it was going to be a good ending but just to screw with the elite, pretentious posers that are pc players Bio changed it. Mustard race indeed.

And.... This is why I prefer console. Show up at 11:45 at my local GameStop, pick up my game at about 12:05, and pop it in by about 12:15. Cook some pizza rolls while I wait for the obligatory Day One patch, and I'm usually looking at the main menu screen by 12:30. No muss, no fuss, no need to worry about System Specs, nor UI optimization, nor KB/M porting.

Classic Bioware. We complain about something that had problems in the last game, next one they remove it. For ME1 it was lifts. In this case it's the PC interface.
