Nice trailer, not as spoilery as it could have been... Also, new desktop image for my PC: I don't suppose that Salarian is part of your main squad, or just a support on-ship character? Kallo, the Salarian in the first screenshot, is the Tempest pilot.

I'm only 9 hours late. ._____.
But I am pleasantly surprised at the trailer--it is a bit spoilery, but what trailer isn't honestly?
I'm also surprised that the music fits better with the launch trailer than it did with the teaser, I was against it at first...it didn't give me that epic-space-opera feeling that the OT trilogy's trailers gave me. But I quite like the launch trailer's music. (And of course it's very human-centric, this might be a story that involves the other races of the M.W., but we're playing from the view point of the humans of course. I'm sure if the game involved us being a different races it would be very much about whatever race we were.)
Anyhow...I'm stupidly excited now.

Liked the trailer, but groaned a bit at the music choice. Although I like the song by itself, it worries me that it is being paired with a Mass Effect trailer. I was hoping the Humans Are Special trope might get left behind in the Milky Way. Humans are special. We're the best of the best. Humanity #1 Only because we don't know better...

Well, considering ME3 the game was a tremendous letdown at the beginning (no trial, no satisfactory resolution with the Council) and RGB end, I'm okay with an underwhelming trailer. It's all about the final product. I'll wait and see. That said, I couldn't really watch this full-on. It was too spoilery. Why not both? An epic trailer and a good final product! :dumb: To be fair though, a lot of people seem to love the ME:A trailer based off the poll... but like you said, final product is all that matters. It doesn't matter if people dislike the song or find the launch trailer underwhelming, what matters is if the game is worth buying. It has definitely been proven that game trailers are not always accurate representations of the quality of a game, for better or worse. They can be useful in getting people hyped and fun to watch, but that is about it.

As I said before, it'd be fine if he sticks to actual flaws (like some highlighted in the video) But hey, if his intention with the video was to make people laugh, then he's right in making asinine remarks mixed with valid criticism.

Guys, I'm sure if Asari made MEA, Asari would be the most special and would star an Asari. If a Turian made MEA, a Turian would be the star and Turians would be the greatest species ever. It's a game for humans by humans so of course humans will be great.

In a just internet, posting any of Smudboy's shitty videos would be some kind of TOS violation. Especially posting them three fucking times in the same thread. Motherfucker claims to use "objective observation" and instead whines like a bitch throughout his entire video. It'd be one thing if he was actually being objective, but... too busy whinging to look up the definition of "objective", I guess.

In a just internet, posting any of Smudboy's shitty videos would be some kind of TOS violation. I have to agree, he's asinine, toxic and really a fucking smudge on the Mass Effect community. But hey, that's just this volus' opinion. Dat trailer music tho. Goes about as well with the gameplay as toothpaste and orange juice. See, I actually think it fits perfectly: it denotes youthful mistakes, humanity and fits the overall actual tone of the story set out by the trailer. It's obviously personal taste, and I would probably have preferred another Two Steps From Hell orchestral vibe, but I think it fits. Music is always going to be one of those things that doesn't gel with everyone, except of course, the ME2 launch trailer (perfection).

I enjoyed the trailer a great deal, though I'm not really sold on the music. I probably would have preferred some kind of instrumental akin to any of the more bombastic scenes that might be in the game over anything with lyrics. I'm very interested to see whether or not I'll be doing a Save Scott rescue mission. I love rescue missions. It occurs to me that it's a distinct possibility that the sibling you don't play might be scripted to die at some point. Guess we'll see [not] soon enough.

I loved it but I do wish there was more of Sara Ryder in the overall marketing. Should it really matter who they choose for marketing its a RPG you can pick who your Ryder will be. They are showing the male Ryder because most of the people buying the game will be...males. I'm a male but I almost never play as a male character if I can help it, so I pretty much play as a female character. I will most likely never play as Scott Ryder because he don't interest me. Sara Ryder does however interest me and I want to know more about her not her brother.

And why not, Asian community is a big one. If anything computer games don't reflect earth's reality demographics at all. I'm saying this not in a confrontational way. This would be up to the Asians to create a universe and a story in which obviously their cultures have a leading role. As a westerner I'm kind of interested in seeing other cultures perspective on sci-fi. I would be totally digging a sci-fi novel or game made by Chinese or Russians. Sadly they aren't there yet. That would be the optimal choice and if they would ever do that hope they translate their games into multiple languages. Western values are eroding fast so I don't exactly view the games churned out by so-called western firms really projecting western values. I also think if Russia and China would make a scifi game with interesting (cultured moral consequenses) content it would be censored by the western elites.

Well it is no Two Steps from Hell trailer, but that is OK, since I found the delivery of the song's message to be much more powerful with this trailer.
Considering how Rag'N'Bone's song is about the human condition, and our inability to be perfect or even fix many of the problems that we as individuals face in our lives, the song really fits the trailer wherein it acts as a powerful and despairing lamentation that acknowledges both our problems and our limited ability to resolve our issues, which fits nicely into Andromeda, and what the characters will face.
Very "human-centric" for sure, but either way, it gets the message across splendidly.

The song was chosen by EA. Even if you're right, Bioware had no role in it. It fits the theme of Andromeda better in any case.

One has to wonder if smudboy is an overcritical fan or just another troll. I love The Transformers and DC Comics and DC TV shows but I absolutely hate Micheal Bay's Transformers films and the DCEU movies. But if I just focused on Bay and the DCEU movies I would sound like a hateful troll. I'm not against constructive criticism but sometimes you have to say your piece and move on with your life. Besides I would rather focus on the things that I enjoy and not waste my time on things that I hate. I will probably have issues with ME:A and once I state them and get them out of my system and I will state my issues with them when it's brought up (like the extreme length of time that some of the War Table operations in DA:I) but I'm not going to sit and post about how much I didn't like or hate something, over and over and over. I also agree about the song it fits the tone of the trailer. I would love to have Stan Bush's "The Touch" as the song but then again that is my all time favorite song (and it works very well with Shepard's escape from the Collector Base in ME2) so I'm biased.

That music did suck. It was startling how strongly I came to independently feel that way before I know other people were commenting about it.
Anyhow, the trailer content looks good and I think it's my favorite trailer/clip I have seen to date.
The public reception is increasingly positive now.... as is my feeling in regards to this game.
