So I know the game isn't eve out yet, but I was wondering if we have had any knews yet on whether this game will be moddable.
My biggest complaints with DAI were the bad hair/facial hair options and the ridiculous body shape of the elves.
The modding community was able to fix this. I hope it won't be needed but anyone know if modding will be thing yet?

It's sharing a lot of tech from all across different frostbite games, and as you say, DA:I had a pretty good modding scene. This is probably only going to be better, especially if there's demand for certain improvements and people already have the tools they used for DA:I so my guess is it'll only get more efficient.
So, if you can run it, get it on pc for sure.

It's Frostbite again, so you won't see anything major. But hair and appearance mods will come out in short order I'm sure.

EA/DICE have firmly been against adding modding support to the Frostbite 3 engine. As long as this remains the case, no future BioWare game will ever have official modding support.
That said, as the others have noted it'll still be modded anyway to about the same degree that DA:I was.

EA/DICE are stupid modding community can increase longivity of game for long look Skyrim/Fallout/GTA V Well it makes sense from DICE's point of view: They're focused on making competitive multiplayer games with regular releases. They want people focused on the newest version of Battlefield, and they don't want to open the engine up to modders because that makes it easier to cheat in those games. They of course still get some hackers, but it's not as bad as something like Counter-Strike which has a much more mod friendly engine(and CS itself was originally a mod).

EA must be making significant profits from games, DLC and MP booster packs to overlook the potential of alternate ways of making money. They could have made a ton of money on many games by just offering more hair style packs, clothing packs, various customization packs, etc. And it's that kind of customization that the modding community excels at 'fixing'.
I have to wonder what reasons EA has for distancing itself from user communities and modding in general. Particularly when other companies like Bethesda and CD Projekt Red embrace it so well and how much mods increase the replay value for so many. They only have to look back at BioWare's long history of games. It's not like ME3 and DA:I mods are even competing with anything EA does either.
While the Frostbite engine doesn't seem all that friendly towards modding, is there some fault with the engine that prevents them from embracing modding? Or is it just another lawyer/legal thing?

Simple answer is all games are moddable, only some games support it by the devs. Frostbite doesn't because DICE purposeful tries to make it difficult to mod. Plane and simple.

EA/DICE are stupid modding community can increase longivity of game for long look Skyrim/Fallout/GTA V The problem with this, from a business PoV, is that you and your investors don't give a toss if someone plays your single-player game for 10 or 1000 hours (and many, many players barely even play more than 15 hours of any game, making longevity moot for them). You also don't care if someone picks up Skyrim 5 years down the line because of mods; by this time it's probably 10$ on Steam and you barely make any money with it. You'd much rather people pay for DLC instead. I'm not disagreeing, I think modding is well worth the effort. But it's easy to see why it's not popular with publishers. Doesn't help that Frostbite is spearheaded by DICE, which makes multiplayer shooters. Those games are hardly mod-friendly. As a final note, Skyrim and Fallout are very moddable in large part because their engine is an ancient, cobbled together trash that is much less powerful but also much easier to mod than Frostbite for several reasons. Thereby causing a lot of the problems that you then need modding to solve such as a plethora of bugs, glitches, crashes, and atrocious optimization.

DA:I actually got modded way more than I thought it would, so who knows.
The Mass Effect modding community has some serious wizards among it. The OT wasn't particularly mod-friendly either, and people still managed to pull off some really cool stuff with it, ME3 in particular. I can hardly play without the Expanded Galaxy Mod anymore.

EA/DICE are stupid modding community can increase longivity of game for long look Skyrim/Fallout/GTA V Just because they aren't doing something you want them to do doesn't make they stupid. BioWare has said multiple times they know the benefits of modding on the old forums. The thing about modding is the game engine has to be built around it, Frostbite has been described as using a server/client setup for developers to use. They would have to go back and develop an entirely new suite of tools that don't use any third party programs and make keep it up to date so players can use it while also maintaining a completely different set of tools for developers. There is no guarantee that mods will even be that successful either, generally it is only a few where it stands out and you listed them all. There are plenty of games where mods didn't have nearly the success as those games such as Dragon Age: Origins or The Witcher 3.

I'm sure it's not exact the same engine like in DAI, they updated it, modified it with time, so mod tools will have to be rewritten for sure and it could take some time. But in PC gaming/modding everything is possible sooner or later

EA/DICE are stupid modding community can increase longivity of game for long look Skyrim/Fallout/GTA V Counter point to that though is that Bethesda has become over reliant on mods to fix there games, in some cases there worlds are built purposely empty so the player can fill it in or the games major bugs end up getting fixed by the fans and not the developer. Plus there is that time when they teamed up with Valve to charge players for user created content with them taking the lions share of the profit. Many people buy Bethesda games for the player mods and not for the main game which doesn't really paint the developer content in a good light.

Many people buy Bethesda games for the player mods and not for the main game which doesn't really paint the developer content in a good light. Making and using mods is part of playing those games (on PC and now even consoles). You get a nice world to explore with the main story, some DLC for money but you also get a platform to infinite expand on it. And that continues long after the developers stopped providing new content. Take Skyrim, they re-released it as 64bit which is something great because it makes the engine more stable (not running out of memory due to too many mods ). You wouldn't believe how much harder it is to mod DAI (all reverse engineered binaries with no documentation whatsoever) compared to Skyrim or Fallout4 (well documented with an open official IDE).

She has dialogue in cutscenes on Cerberus HQ now and she's in the conference room (where you argue with Victus, Wrex and Dalatrass) when you recruit her and she'll have a non-cinematic dialogue (or more of them) there which Shepard responds to. Oh yeah, and as part of the Expanded Galaxy Mod which it requires you can invite her and any other love interest you have up to the cabin for those ME2-style interactions (sit on a couch, lie in bed, hug and stuff)

The sad reality is, you can never pls everyone. Atleast in part, mods can fix that. But alas, EAs insistence on forcing its devs to use the Frostbite engine whenever possible has shown its ugly side, when DAI with its horrible selection of Hairstyles came around. While Skyrim players enjoy the bliss of Havok enabled hairstyles ( don´t forget the bouncing boobs! ), DAI players are burdened with a choice of varying baldness for their characters. So no, modding will be at best on the same level as DAI, which for me always looked more like hacking than actual modding.

The first three ME games weren't really known for modding so I won't be surprised if I don't see many mods for Andromeda.
