You're very lucky to have the game early Enjoy and have fun playing the it I have been, and think people will be quite happy. My biggest complaint right now is performance, but that is something that can be fixed in the future (hopefully). Aye, and planetary exploration's camera work and movement is quite... tedious. I look forward to a more detailed review. (And to an apology from the last of the Romans.)

I hate doing this, because it's such an arbitrary thing. Of the 20 or so hours I've played of the game so far, I'm giving it an 8 / 10. The overall game performance / stability, and the UI are the two main things holding it back from being a 9 or higher at the moment, IMO. Will provide a much more thorough and informative impressions / review by Monday for those that are interested

Does Ryder's face textures fully load... eventually? Sometimes...? I think? It's not great. But I can't recall an RPG in the last 2 decades that has been derailed by bad facial animations, so I don't think this game is in any risk either. I quickly became used to it, if I'm being totally honest.

Not holding my breath for any sort of apology. Kinda nasty, the initial response I got, but oh well. I met 2 people from these forums in real life today, and got them both a copy of the game - both cool people, so I'm not really bothered.

Ha, called the doubters, OP. (raises glass) 5 days later........ Sorry - my priority when I had my hands on my most anticipated game in about 3 years, was to actually play the game, not deal with some virtual sh*tshow that I couldn't care less about.

There's lots that I like. But there's stuff that I don't like as well, which I've noticed no one is really talking about yet. The plan is to play through most of Sunday, and then put a comprehensive post of my thoughts up for everyone.

So you wanted to brag somewhere but didn't want to actually deal with the onerous task of taking a picture of a case so the discussion could move in a positive direction. Good for you I guess? Fortunate then that the shitshow you created was locked until you could be decide to care five days later.

Not really sure how anything I did can be conceived as bragging though, simply as I wanted to just highlight and share some good news with people here - not gloat. A bit difficult for me to provide pics when I was at work, no? And if I'm being perfectly honest, I somewhat lost interest in wanting to provide anything here because of the initial response, AND because I sunk my teeth into the game.

Would you have liked to have vehicle combat at all with more vehicles driving around the worlds? I'm currently playing Arkham Knight again, and I can't help but wish there was a cannon the would come out of the Nomad like it does from Batmobile. Even if it turned the Nomad into a stationary turret. Congrats on getting the game early

Cool!
So what would you say can be the new potential controversy? Obviously everyone is shitting on the animation but they're bound to move on.
Also beyond performance, how do you like the writing and choices in-game?
Does it feel that choices have a strong impact on the narrative?

I have no hard feelings; just wish the reaction would have been different, that's all.

Also beyond performance, how do you like the writing and choices in-game? Does it feel that choices have a strong impact on the narrative? Will get into more details tomorrow, but the two major issues right now: a) There are major bugs related to mission progress - certain missions you simply cannot finish because their progress is bugged and blocked. The HUD and the MAP for exploring is very lacking. Certain map elements actually disappear off the map once you've discovered them, making it a pain in the arse if you have to go back to a specific sight (which is quite often if you are on the side quest completion grind like I am). The nomad is crying out for some sort of mini-map and radiation indicator as well

But there's stuff that I don't like as well, which I've noticed no one is really talking about yet. Maybe it's because the majority of the game is still under embargo? Early Access gates you off on Eos, and streamers only got permission to stream beyond that point yesterday, although I don't know how much farther they're allowed to go.

I'm surprised about the lack of a proper ability to detect radiation, especially in a vehicle as advanced as the Nomad. Hell the PC of Fallout was able to get one.

What do you think about the plot? What is Alec's role in the plot beyond the prologue? Is the central mystery engaging? And how is the villain?

What do you think about the plot? What is Alec's role in the plot beyond the prologue? Is the central mystery engaging? And how is the villain? I like the plot. I think everything after the vault on Eos was embargoed? The game really begins to feel like a pretty intriguing mystery right after that embargo point, given what happens right after, and the story beats are pretty consistent & intriguing. It's the main reason why I've kept on playing. I'd be happy to discuss Alec's role in private message (I'd rather not include spoilers here in case anyone gets upset, even if using the spoiler tag).
