Welp, I somehow managed to receive a copy of Fallout 4 for christmas so I might not me getting around to ME3mp for a good while. I'm not very far in yet but the game seems super cool so far. To make it even more interesting (or rather hilarious) I made my character super fat because I've always wanted to play a fat person in a game (too bad you couldn't make tubby characters in other Bethesda games or even the ME series) Yeah dude, I noticed you playing it and thought, "Uh-oh, looks like we've lost another one for a while!" I was tempted myself when I saw it on sale, but resisted. I love and hate that fucking game in equal measure, having experienced the hell of its early release bugs, which made ME:A's tired faces etc seem relatively trivial by comparison. I eventually ended up earning the Platinum trophy on PS4, and have done 3 playthroughs, including all the dlc (most of which is pretty good, with the Vault-Tec add-on stealing the most hours from my life - designing and running your own vault is highly addictive.) The central plot is utter garbage, and quite badly written, but that doesn't change the fact that the game environment itself is good, to the point that the plot itself can be regarded as almost irrelevant. I deleted ME:A after 1.5 playthroughs and 120 hours of MP, while FO4 remains installed and constantly tempting, even on a second console. I've spent many happy hours faffing around in my vault listening to Diamond City Radio. Funny thing is, and keep this in mind Pat, the joy I always get from returning to an ME3 MP session is off the charts. Spending a lot of hours in a post-apocalyptic wasteland can become a little depressing after a while, but luckily there's a solution: CLAYMOAR!!! I have a longstanding allergy to the books and films of JRR Tolkien and (especially) Peter Jackson (Bad Taste aside), and all subsequent spin-offs, rip-offs and homages. I've never watched Game of Thrones, despite it being made up the road from me, with friends on the production team. I've never played any Dragon Age games either, and the N7 Shadow is the only sword-wielder who has ever given me pleasure. I just don't have any interest in that sort of Fantasy genre, although I'm a serious Led Zeppelin fan so I don't mind Percy wailing on on about the darkest depths of Mordor from time to time, but that's as far as I can usually tolerate. I have watched on with bemusement while pretty much the entire gaming community has fallen in love with Geralt and The Witcher franchise, convinced I would never succumb. I've watched a few videos, and found the rural English accents more than troubling, although the Scottish ones appealed to my heritage. Spells and potions are really not my thing. I wouldn't go so far as to say that has all changed, but I got a voucher over Christmas and decided to take the plunge when I saw the GotY edition on sale for £14. I had The Witcher 2 already (unplayed, free with Gold) and so downloaded it and began my journey. I'm a sucker for virtual Redheads, and the fact that Triss is voiced by the same actress as FO4's Piper (my primary LI) got me hooked from the very first scene. It's still not really 'my thing', but I'm definitely enjoying it, recognizing already that this is really just an appetizer for the feast to come in the next game. I also got the Bioshock Collection and The Ezio Collection from Assassin's Creed. I've played 4 of the 6 games before, but I want to give them a second go, concurrently with the MET journey I'm just embarking on again. There is the small matter of 'real life' which may hold me up from time to time, but as I'm also dabbling with Quantum Break, I'm hoping for a breakthrough on that front... Oh yeah, and if you want to play fat characters, the Xbox might not be the best platform - Naughty Dog do allow for a fat Nathan Drake in the Uncharted franchise, and it is undeniably fun to play that way.

I think Dragon's Dogma also allows fat characters, but that editor is a mess. Definitely competes with ME/DA standard of bad character editors, and ugly presets. Anybody remember KOTOR? Yeah, once upon a time, BioWare could make presets that weren't WTF-worthy.
As to recent games, Endless Sky stole me again, I also feel another Rebel Galaxy playthrough sneaking up on me, maybe try a starter-ship playthrough, could be fun dropping dreadnaughts in that rustbucket.
Also NFS:Payback, not as bad as the reviews say (EA Hatetrain is strong), but definitely has its flaws (like the focus on drift-style handling). Tracking down the parts for the "Derelicts" was one of the most satisfying things I've done in recent history in games. Hunting down the Chasis, Drivetrain, etc for a Bel Air or '65 Mustang (or Beetle!), and reconstructing it and building it up to eat supercars for breakfast was loads of fun. Offroading was also much more fun than I expected, I have maxed out virtually every single off-road car in the game, waiting for new car releases to make more. Still, every playthrough I've had of the game has had a pristine restored Bel Air in the garage, because beautiful cars deserve restoration.
Also finished NFS:TheRun, not bad (if cheese), great handling physics for a modern-ish racing game, Framerate could be a problem at times, trying to framelimit it to 30 or 60 causes the framerate to get even more unstable, which is not good, best to just let it run its course. Challenge series was actually challenging, with a few events being so close to impossible, that the game is now uninstalled.
Also finished Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, not a fan of the constant redesign of the control systems, didn't like Jacob, enjoyed the game's take on Jack The Ripper, liked the setting, but not as engaging as some ACs have been, also uninstalled, due to install size (was taking up about 80GB), and didn't see myself replaying it.
...And if you all couldn't tell by my return, none of these was enough to keep me away from ME.

Sooo lately, I haven't been playing as much ME3 MP lately.
I've been playing a lot of .hack gu: the last recode for like the last 2 weeks.
4 games vol 1-4 in a single disc, enjoyed every single one of them. Not gonna lie, I did at one point wanted to give up on the series, because vol 1's combat was making me feel resident sleeper, but it does get progressively better though esp once you get to vol 3. I thought the story all the way until its conclusion to vol 4, was good (I'm not great at judging game story, plot and whatnot).
Honestly .hack gu and ME:A MP are the only 2 PS4 games I was interested in, than any other games that was released in 2017.
A little fun fact, how I even knew about the .hack series existence from way way back, was that it somehow popped up in the video suggestions, I don't think it came from the youtube video suggestion, but from google video suggestions rofl. And when I clicked on a video, and it was a boss fight from .hack infection. I remember my reaction was like "What is this game!?!?!" and looks so freakin retro and I liked it a lot, was really interested and then found out it had more games in the series.
And I think it was this video, not sure if it was the right video but the video did contain this boss fight in particular.

Just an update but I'm still poking around in Fallout 4. There's still so much to explore (which I like) but I did however finish the main quest the other day. I'll put it in spoiler just in case. The ending (if you can even call it that) was very disappointing and therefore sucked dong. Once I got into the Institute, I was starting to see why people said the main quest was pretty bad. Seeing all the choices and things I had to do started to really frustrate me. For me I think it was the lack of dialogue options for some of the shit that was going down and couldn't even say the things that I should have been able to say. I dunno, but I guess in the end I decided to stay with the Minutemen and take out the Institute. The Railroad group, although somewhat good intentions could go fuck themselves but not to the point where I wanted to kill them all. Same with the BoS. I even told Father upon our first meeting that I wasn't sure to join the Institute but even still he basically was like, "I understand if you're unsure. In the meantime, go do this for me." Fffuuuuuuuuuu......... After several hours of doing things for the Institue and almost about to destroy the other factions, I stopped and reloaded a save I had right before going to the institute to start all over. No game has frustrated me like that before in terms of a main quest plot. Not even the ME trilogy. With the disappointing main quest aside, everything else seems really cool. I especially like some of the companions and their backstories/quests. I ended up romancing Piper because it was very hard not too (her voice actress I think really made that character in my opinion). She was cute, funny and loud and her commentary everywhere was always great. Pretty much took her everywhere with me. I honestly didn't realize you could romance companions until a conversation with Piper showed a flirt option. Romance didn't immediately happen though but I'm kind of glad in a way. It seemed more fitting to spend a very long time having her traveling with me, getting to know her better after she started opening up about herself. She gently turned me down the first time (although she would bring up the conversation with me over and over when I just wanted to trade things with her ) It wasn't until after blowing up the Institute and watching the explosion from the tower with the minutemen that she approached me and started the conversation again. This time the romance option worked. As far as story telling goes, it couldn't have worked out a better way and I thought that was kind of neat. Who knew blowing up a whole faction of crazy scientists could win someone's heart She's still too good for me though. My character is fat, has a small mouth, big beard and hipster haircut. Piper, you can do better honestly. Nick Valentine was also super cool (just did his quest yesterday) and of course there's Dogmeat. Who doesn't love Dogmeat? My first official companion for the first 10 hours of gameplay before reaching Diamond City and meeting Piper. There a ton of other companions I haven't even met yet but I figured I might save those for future play throughs (which I will probably avoid as much of the main quest in those as possible). Might run around a bit more with my current fat character before starting a new one. Might try a Brotherhood play through next time. Main story sucks but everything else is good.

Finished a playthrough of Doom and Gears 4 recently. Doom was a blast and was true to the series mechanic of fast paced crazy gunplay. Definitely worth a run if you enjoy fast paced fps games.
Gears 4 was much better than anticipated and a really solid entry into the series. It is also one of the games that has really wowed me from a visual standpoint with the xbox one x. It and halo 5 are the best looking so far to me.

Might run around a bit more with my current fat character before starting a new one. Might try a Brotherhood play through next time. Main story sucks but everything else is good. I couldn't have put it any better myself, especially the final summation. I've chosen every 'ending' option due to trophy-hunting, but none of them are any better than the others. (I also romanced Piper btw - same voice actress as Triss in The Witcher 2 - although given that my partner is French I believe I can be excused for getting it on with Curie in a subsequent playthrough. I didn't romance Strong(!) but he's pretty good fun as a companion too - maybe you have to be Irish to get this but he looks so much like our heroic former Rugby captain Paul O'Connell that it adds a whole different dimension.) I decided to play the SP campaign of Battlefield 1, partly down to your earlier positive review, and partly as I was determined to get some value out of the EA Access subscription I took out before ME:A dropped. It would be an understatement to say I didn't feel ME:A gave me my money's worth, so I'm glad to say that playing BF1 'for free' was a pleasing experience overall. I haven't really come to any conclusion on how I feel about using WW1 as a theatre for gaming, other than to say I stopped playing a few times trying to get my ahead around it all. I once fell out with my (asshole) English teacher when we were expected to study and write criticism of the poems of Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon at the age of 14, and yet here I found myself more than 30 years later playing it all as a piece of entertainment. Very strange. Still very good though, moral questions aside. I really enjoyed the Lawrence of Arabia chapter. I have fewer moral scruples about rocking my way through Bulletstorm again. I got it for £10 in the January sale and it's a great big explosive piece of foul-mouthed fun. Trishka is voiced by Jennifer Hale (like a Renegade+++ FemShep ) and I'm pretty sure Mark Meer is knocking around too, with some of the aliens sounding remarkably Vorcha-like. Checkpoints are well placed, upgrades fairly simple and the weapons are really great. It's mindless, but hugely entertaining.

I have all the Gears games but haven't played more than a couple of hours of 3, until your post reminded me that I got 4 along with my Xbox 1 S, and the discussion about the size of the game reminded me that it's by far the biggest I have, at around 90Gb. So I figured I should give it a go before I'm tempted to delete it to save space. I can imagine how good it must look on the X as it looks pretty damn sweet on the S - definitely the best looking game I have apart from Quantum Break, which is going for a different photo-real look. I haven't noticed any frame drops whatsoever, and in the (genuinely great) 'Great Escape' chapter in particular I thought that was very very impressive. I must say I'm enjoying the game very much and will probably go back and play the others too.

Just finished The Surge. In case somene doesn't know,it's a souls like game.Since i am not a souls snob, i enjoyed it and think that game is very underrated.Yes,perhaps is not at the same level as Dork Souls, but is still challenging and has some new ideas.Only 5 bosses is a con.Nevertheless the game deserves more love in my opinion.

As much as I hated the way it looked in the YouTube reviews, I've completely fallen in love with Overwatch. Also been playing a little Destiny 2, too, however it's getting a bit boring now. Once my new PC arrives, I'm planning to do a complete ME trilogy playthrough in 1440p and with hid-def texture mods. And I'm looking into downloading Fortnite and possibly buy PUBG.

Overwatch is the only game that rivals ME3 in terms of how addicted I am to it, although funnily enough I don't actually play it that much. I was sceptic, but I tried it on a free weekend and fell in love. Let me know If you play it on PC, it's always good to play with fellow ME3MPers. Fortnite and PUBG are quite fun in teams in my experience, not so much solo.

The Division 1.8 is how it should have been from the start, so enjoying that still. And in a completely different genre, was addicted to Ark Survival Evolved for a long while - flying Pterodactyls never gets old.

I've been awfully negative about TellTale games since The Wolf Among Us, but Batman: The Enemy Within is by far their best work in years. Its worth every penny I've paid for it.
I'm watching a friends Twitch archive of his run and from about the end of episode 2 to the end of episode 4 I'm really surprised by how different our two playthroughs are. Didn't think TellTale had it in them.
Season One of Batman by them was good but not remarkable. Season two is top shelf titties.
