... I have DLed Fallout New vegas, will see if i install it and erased fallout1, cause vegas seems a better choice. But that s not why i m here. I hope you enjoy it man it's one of my favorite games even though it starts really slow. I'm still finding things I missed in several playthroughs and hopefully you've added the DLCs, but if you're going to pick I'd add Gun Runners Arsenal (just added weapons and gun mods and stuff), Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road. No love for Dead Money ? It's my favorite, because the atmosphere rules (yep, pun intended )...

I'm very excited for it, but must finish DS3 first. Glad it seems to be living up to the hype ( looking angrily at you Cyberpunk). I saw Cowboy's review that he had 85 hours in and still hadn't done everything; so it'll take me like 250 hours to finish it I am still in the first zone(killed only one of the main bosses) and probably 10-15 side.Yes,there are tons of bosses if you explore every corner, although the side bosses are kinda easy. The main guy was hard tho.The game feels like DS+Zelda. As for Cyberpunk,i really think it's a good game if we abstract from the bugs. They just should've postponed it,but they released some broken game. BTW,did you beat sister Friede? I should really finish CP2077, I was playing on Xbox One S and somehow didn't have too many glitches/bugs and was having a good time with the game I just found Dark Souls 1 shortly after and got hooked on that lol. Like I said I'm slow af, I'm an explore every corner kind of guy, so I didn't get to any of the bosses in Ashes yet (though I've only played for like 3 hours the past 10 days anyway). I just found the white haired painter and am making my way up the mountain it seems.

I like it, I was so-so on it when I first played it and haven't done it since so I'm going on like 8-10 year memory. I just loved Old World Blues and Lonesome Road so much I think they overshadowed how good Dead Money probably is and add in that it's so different from the rest of the game it probably clouded my judgement (pun intended there as well).

They don't care about the graphics, they've never carried. That said, the game is everything ,but ugly.Yes ,the graphic is out of date, but the art and atmosphere are great as usual.Although i do agree that it's a very bad technically. The game runs like a shit indeed a.Most of the players don't play their games for graphics,so they got lazy i guess . I can't agree that DS series have boring gameplay. Fast paced is not = good and clumsy is not =boring.Face paced gameplay can be bad too,if it's not created properly.DS series are more slow for a reason, but i understand that some ppl prefer a faster combat. As for the Sekiro-it's the most skill requiring game of FROM software. It's all about skills.Either you can or you are dead. You can't grind for souls etc. It's a very different game from DS and Bloodborne, but also a great game. I liked Sekiro very much and spent a good amount of time on it.The only con is that the game lacks of variety. No different builds and stuff.Knowing your preference,i highly recommend this game. If you want a challenge ofc. Face paced combat vs challenging enemies. Another masterpiece by FROM IMO. I'm not focused too heavily on good graphics but I prefer games to be somewhat good looking as well for the whole package. I think it's a bit sad they didn't care more about that for Elden Ring. Because I agree with you: I really liked their overall artistic choices (enemy/boss design and such) when I watched the streams and the atmosphere is great as well - so I can only imagine how much more appealing the game could be if they also cared a bit more about looks and performance. From what I have seen the Demon's Souls Remaster seems like a good example of how much better their games could be looking if they cared a bit more about that (of course that one is not Open World). I agree with you that fast paced doesn't equal good and slower games can be great as well. It's not that I only play fast paced games. But when it comes to combat I prefer a bit more action and Dark Souls always seemed to RPG-ish to me - just without the same story/dialogue depth of a good RPG. So I usually compared the Souls games to hack'n'slash titles like the initial God of War 1-3 series, Ninja Gaiden or Devil May Cry and then always felt that the Souls game were rather boring in comparison. And I'm also really not a fan of the setting. That's all just personal preference though. I think I'll be putting Sekiro on my list though - but that list is long and it might be a while until I get to it. From what I've seen and heard it seems quite a bit different compared to all the other FROM Software games and it looks like something I might enjoy after a while. Especially since I like the setting very much. Thanks for your opinion on this game.

But when it comes to combat I prefer a bit more action and Dark Souls I haven't experienced that, but I can understand it. A lot of the prolonged action is in the boss fights, but there's a lot of strong enough enemies scattered throughout and even the simple enemies can mob you and kill you. I'm not that good and for me it can get crazy when I get more than 2 enemies attacking at a time. Managing dodging and attacking can be stressful That damn little green bar, you have to manage that little green bar and I think that keeps it from being pure hack-n-slash. Dark Souls always seemed to RPG-ish to me - just without the same story/dialogue depth of a good RPG. There's a ton of depth, but you have to look for it if you want to find it From doesn't really tell you anything straight up. It's given to you via item descriptions (so you have to look at every item you pick up) and through environmental story telling, for example where you pick up an item can give you a clue as to what was going on there. NPCs will also give you some more context, but you have to find them, and it's glorious when you finally find someone not trying to kill you. It can be tricky though because From doesn't come out and tell you how to do their quests and maybe you had no idea it's possible to save Solaire. As far as DS1 goes the world building is god-tier (even if the majority views the late game as weak I personally had no issues with Lost Izalith/Demon Ruins) with it's interconnectivity. That much was lacking in DS3, which is much more linear, even though the individual levels have great design.

I finally decided to try out Cyberpunk… created my character, was quite happy with her, was even able to look in a mirror, talking to someone and then whoopsie, crash to desktop Maybe I’ll try again tomorrow and hope for the best edit: running steam as administrator worked so far… now I only need to decide which origin to play (started all three to see what’s what ) So how s cyberpunf in the end ? Tbh, got sidetracked by SWTOR (new expansion) … but I DLed the 1.5 patch for Cyberpunk and am interested if I see/feel the difference… hopefully I won’t crash as often with my car as I did before the patch (I read somewhere that they wanted to change something about driving… but alas maybe I am just a shitty online driver)

Best I did was get 2nd phase to about a quarter health before I got hit with that nasty AoE frostbite attack while attacking the father. I'm gonna do it without the Gael summon.

I reinstalled Anthem on my new machine to give it a 2nd shot. I've been playing it all day and I'm actually having a lot of fun going through the campaign missions for the first time. I do have three main criticisms: (1) with so few players I'm doing everything solo, (2) for how good my new machine is, the graphics still seem pretty un-optimized/underperforming compared to something like Destiny 2, and (3) there's a little too much walking around talking to people between missions. That last one could be on me though, I found the non-mission stuff in Mass Effect and Destiny 2 to also drag on just a little more than needed. Speaking of Destiny 2, it really feels like Anthem's mission statement was "let's make a Destiny 2 clone". I guess it probably sounds like I'm complaining a lot but just like with Mass Effect, I'm still having fun despite the flaws.

I've gone back to Anthem twice now, though again on pause. The end-game grind is so limiting and repetitious. But it is very fun up to that time when you get near a full set of 80's gear.
Yes, the player base is very small now, but a strong word of advice: while playing your campaign missions, do NOT play Public! You will fly through the missions and lose feel for the story. And you'll get a better feel for the game mechanics and progression. End-game is where to group. Depending on how much side-content you do, that can happy as early as ~level 14 or so.

(1) with so few players I'm doing everything solo Lucky you... I have to keep a long ignore list that is always at its limit to at least have a chance to play strongholds solo. The playerbase is small but someone always uses that damn quickplay option whenever I try to record a run. And ever since the game (or actually the whole EA Play subscription) became part of gamepass there are always some new people getting in. Of course this whole problem could be solved if Bioware just made a "public", "private", "friends only" option for all game modes and not just the missions. (2) for how good my new machine is, the graphics still seem pretty un-optimized/underperforming compared to something like Destiny 2 I think the game looks pretty nice, but it is indeed not well optimized. But which game actually is? Only "recent" game that comes to mind is Doom Eternal which runs supersmooth, probably even on a potato... (3) there's a little too much walking around talking to people between missions. It's been so long since I played the campaign but I agree, it was exhausting. Especially since your movement is so slow in Fort Tarsis. And the conversations as well as the dialogue options are a lot worse and meaningless than they are in Mass Effect which makes these parts even more annoying in my opinion. I'm still having fun despite the flaws. I'm still playing regularly because I'm having a lot of fun with the gameplay and while my javelins have nice gear but I'm still chasing some specific items. I have a ton of unplayed games but the problem with them is that they take so much time getting into and then I also don't want to stop after an hour. But with Anthem (as with ME3MP prior to that) I can just log in, play a couple of matches (doing daily challenges) and then quit again and continue with work and other things. Unfortunately with Anthem I'm having frequent lags and rubberbanding as of late and I was having a ton of pilot data problems as well over the last 3 months or. I was in contact with EA Support and they were actually not totally incompetent but in the end they couldn't really help me with the problem. Since some people I've talked to don't seem to have these problems it might be on my end but my connection is very stable and fast and I have no problems whatsoever in any other (online) game or app.

With how fast she is it was like some sort of dance where I wasn't in the lead, but just there for the ride (especially when she does that 4 or 5 hit combo) and smacking her whenever I got an opening. Hollowslayer GS ftw yet again Onto The Ringed City where I already took care of the Demon Princes (Black Knight Sword ftw there) and making my way down from the first bonfire after the first Judicator.

Meanwhile i am closing in ER's end game zone.Already spent 70 hours. The game is freaking good, but the bosses are disappointing for now.As a hardcore fan,i don't use summons or spirits ,but none of the bosses managed to kill me more than three times.A friend of mine who already finished the game, said that the end game bosses are hard and even one of them is the hardest thing that FROM software have ever made.We will see.

I certainly went strength build in DS1 and switched between Claymore and BKGS, Gold Tracer when I got dex up to good levels once I beat the game. For DS3 I went full dex build w/ Sharp LKS, but seem to be reverting back to bonk with heavy steel object again because it's fun as hell. I'll google Midir if I can't find him by the time I get to the Gael fight, I've found most things on my own at this point. That is the one gripe I've heard with ER is that there's a lot of copy paste with later, but not end, game bosses/sub-bosses.

I can't say much about the difficulty from personal experience since I didn't play the game myself and have only watched bits of streams (plus a sub 1 hour speedrun) but I can confirm that this one guy I was watching on stream during endgame died a couple of times to some of the endgame bosses but ultimately managed to beat them all after a few tries - but the last encounter really kicked his ass compared to the others. Then again, there is a 2.5hours no death speedrun on Youtube, so how hard can it be, right? In all seriousness though... it most likely depends a lot on how experienced a player is with these games. So you might find the endgame bosses relatively easy as well while someone else who has maybe never played a Souls game will find them hard as hell. Difficulty aside there was this one optional bossfight near the end I really enjoyed watching gameplay of just for the setting/atmosphere. Since I don't know if you've been there already I'll keep my mouth shut about it though.

There is sub a 30 min speedrun actually, but the speedrunners are not regular players. Most of them do only this.Playing souls-borne games all day long.Finding glitches, routes etc. When you watch them it looks easy, but trying to do same, might give you different results.I consider myself as a veteran.Started with the original Demon Souls and ended up spending over 2000 hours on all FROM software games.Did many challenge runs, like SL1 runs, broken broadsword only run, deathless etc.The difficult depends not only on your experience tho.It depends on the build too.If you play a mele character(like me) it might be very hard vs some of the bosses, because it's your first playthrough. You don't know their movesets, weaknesses, strengths etc.In ER using a caster(no matter mage, pyro ,miracles or hybrid) trivialise most of the bosses,so you can find the game very easy.Plus there is an easy mode-the spirits which you can summon and upgrade, but i don't use them.I want a challenge.I assume you are talking about Malenia Blade of Miquella.Am i right? If so,i am just right there, but didn't have time to try her yesterday.I will leave her for the final tho,as she is the hardest boss in ER from what i heard. So the best fight for dessert ,no?

Yes, I know. That's why I put that laughing smiley behind my post when I said "how hard can it be". Although the guy in the 2.5h no death speedrun didn't cheese the bosses as much as the any % guys did so it is a bit more impressive I guess. I watched the latest sub 29min speedrun as well though last night. I just find it very interesting what ways people find to break a game and/or just finish it quickly. But usually I prefer glitchless speedruns more. In any case, I'm aware that neither represents "normal" gameplay that most people will encounter. And I also prefer to either play a game myself or watch a normal run first before I start looking for speedruns. The difficult depends not only on your experience tho.It depends on the build too.If you play a mele character(like me) it might be very hard vs some of the bosses, because it's your first playthrough. You don't know their movesets, weaknesses, strengths etc.In ER using a caster(no matter mage, pyro ,miracles or hybrid) trivialise most of the bosses,so you can find the game very easy.Plus there is an easy mode-the spirits which you can summon and upgrade, but i don't use them. You bring up an interesting point there. Whenever I was watching ER (or other souls games for that matter) I thought "melee combat seems so much more difficult". A lot of enemies have nasty attacks if you are up close and personal, especially bosses with grabs, AoE attacks with huge radiuses and such and I always had the impression it would be best to stay away from enemies and attack them from mid or long range. Of course this might be considered "easy mode" compared to close up combat - which brings me to my actual question: do you think the balancing is off in that regard and could be improved upon? Like redesigning enemy attack patterns more and have them change their attacks more significantly if you stay further away from them so the challenge becomes almost equal no matter at which range you fight them?

There is sub a 30 min speedrun actually, but the speedrunners are not regular players. Most of them do only this.Playing souls-borne games all day long.Finding glitches, routes etc. When you watch them it looks easy, but trying to do same, might give you different results. Like redesigning enemy attack patterns more and have them change their attacks more significantly if you stay further away from them so the challenge becomes almost equal no matter at which range you fight them? Especially ER needs a better balance IMO.There is a skill called Hoarfrost Stomp for example. If you build your character right ,with this power, every single damn boss fight will end up for seconds. The casting time is short,it doesn't require much FP,plus deals good amount of damage. In other words press X to win.In this game there is at least 4 bosses which can kill you with a single shot no matter of your vigor stats and your equipment.Just one hit and you are dead,so playing up close and personal could be very dangerous and not so pleasant experience. This is very strange thing, because in the rest FROM software games the balance was very good. The bosses were fair.Playing casters has always been a more safe approach, but in the old games they needed more time to cast the powers, while the mele weapons were faster killers, but with a higher risk.

I assume you are talking about Malenia Blade of Miquella.Am i right? If so,i am just right there, but didn't have time to try her yesterday.I will leave her for the final tho,as she is the hardest boss in ER from what i heard. So the best fight for dessert ,no? I actually meant a different boss. It's probably not even that big of a deal, I just thought the whole setup was very nicely done. But talking about Malenia and her being the hardest boss... I'll just leave this video here (obviously not representative of the actual difficulty at all; just quite impressive): Especially ER needs a better balance IMO.There is a skill called Hoarfrost Stomp for example. If you build your character right ,with this power, every single damn boss fight will end up for seconds. The casting time is short,it doesn't require much FP,plus deals good amount of damage. In other words press X to win. Sounds like that ability the sub 30 speedrunners have been using for the bossfights. The one they were using looked like something that might get hit by the nerf-bat. Does FROM Software even rebalance post-release and nerf/buff items and spells? Especially since you also mentioned that their balancing has been mostly well done in the past. Edit: just found this: "Patch 1.03 made Mimic Tear, Hoarfrost, and Sword of Night and Flame weaker"

Edit: just found this: "Patch 1.03 made Mimic Tear, Hoarfrost, and Sword of Night and Flame weaker" Yes,already watched this video. This dude is damn good.He is obviously very skilled at parrying, which i already tried vs her,but you need 3 consecutive parrying to stun her for a counter.I can parry some of her stuff, but there are few with weird timings.Parrying in DS series is something which requires practice. There will be always skilled players like this chap. That said,i did beat Malenia today and can say for sure that it's the hardest thing i've ever encountered in a game, and i did play Ninja Gaiden series, and many other challenging games. This boss for mele solo is ridiculous hard.Like i mentioned in another post,i don't use summons, ghosts etc.I play only solo.Idk how hard will be this gal with a mage for example, but for mele gameplay is just awful.I like challenge and i do enjoy hard bosses, but when they are made fair.Nothing fair in this battle tho.For example,i did die many times vs Sister Friede,Midir,Manus,Ishin,Demon of Hatred etc in the DS1-3 series +Sekiro, but they felt funny nonetheless.I felt satisfaction after the battles.Nowadays i can beat them blindfolded, because i know every their move and i do enjoy playing vs every of them.I doubt that will ever try to learn Malenia's stuff. This battle kills every enjoyement.Second phase is a bit easier, which is something good ofc.I killed her twice, just for science's sake. The first time solo, then reloaded the save and summoned Mimic Tear(the mentioned ghost which they nerfed today).Guess what-the fight ended up in less than 2 min, even with the nerf. Was easy as fck. These ghost are too OP and they shouldn't be in this game. They are created for the casual players who wants to play this game obviously, therefore more player will play the game which is more money.I can understand FROM software, but as a hardcore fan i prefer more balanced bosses instead.

Since we are talking about Fromsoftware games, I have slowly been going through their games. I actually think that Sekiro is their weakest. It might be the most skill based/difficult, but it is so rigid in its design. One weapon, no combos, and the ninja tools are very situational. It's like they saw the Nioh games and wanted to make something similar without the mechanical depth. I still liked it, but it's a game that offers very little variety and forces you to play as very specific way.
Niohs, especially Nioh 2, are the best of thse types of games. Though they play different from the other FS games.
I beat DS1 in January. It was good, but the second half of that game was bad with some awful boss fights. I beast DS2 for the first time a few weeks ago. As unpopular as it may seem, I liked it more than DS1. It was more fun to play despite its flaws.
Not sure if I should DS3 next or ER.

I found that soulsborne games got weaker with each release Demons Souls being good, Dark Souls taking what they learned from DeS and perfecting it, Dark Souls 2 tried new things but wasn’t as good (still a fun game imo), Bloodborne doing its own thing with mostly original ideas, Dark Souls 3 is an asset flip of bloodborne and relies too heavily on ideas from past games, Sekiro I haven’t played, heard good things but DS3 wore me out and made me wary of FromSoft releases. As for Elden ring, would love to give it a go but want to upgrade my pc or get a PS5 first. But from the looks of it it might just be another asset flip and reused ideas.

Not sure if I should DS3 next or ER. I recommend DS3 + DLC even though it's quite linear it's still dope and has a lot of good boss fights. I'm at Midir right now and getting my ass kicked.

Yeah, I have DS3 with all the DLC. I played a bit of it a while back and liked it. It felt more like Bloodborne. I still like playing DS2 on NG plus as it seems to be the only FS game that changes things on a new play through.
