Bugs (playing default Scott on XB1): -On Eos, when in some of the buildings in the first camp, and when meeting Peebee, Ryder's facial textures won't fully load. They stay low res. -I assigned overload and turret to RB and LB (respectively) at first, but later reversed it. However, upon reloading a save, the powers go back to their original button assignments. Yeah, and my dad works at Nintendo and he totally let me play the next Super Mario Bros. game!

I played between 9 and 10 hours now. Mostly Singleplayer, but also some Multiplayer and I'll give mostly feedback on things I didn't like, bugs, etc.
I liked the game overall though and I'm looking forward for more:
Character Creator:
The character creator is basically a slightly more powerful Version of what we had in KOTOR. I had hoped for more, especially after Inquisition gave us so many options. I'm especially bummed about the lack of all hair options for both genders and that I can't place Tattoos and Scars however I like. I also would've loved to have tattoos in other places than the face/neck.
Graphics/Visuals/Animations:
It seems like there are some shader issues, that are especially noticeable with lighter hair colors, showing blocky shadows with certain hairstyles (Suvi for example). That may be a problem of my system not being powerful enough though.
I encountered another issue related to shadows with mouths. Sometimes it looked like they were extremely well lit, allowing me to see teeth that were further back in a persons mouth, which looked super weird. Looking at some vids on Youtube however, it seems like that is another problem due to my graphics settings.
Facial animations have been criticized enough, but yeah, sometimes it's really bad when there is a lot of movement going on in the mouth region of the face and very little in the eye region.
Peebee still holds her gun the wrong way, when I first encountered her, she also lacked the black stripe across her eyes for some scenes.
I encountered some weird, random shoulder jerking when talking with people standing someplace. Looked weird.
When I exit the Nomad, Liam and Cora fall out of the sky. I guess they spawn that way so they don't get stuck in the ground, but making sure that they spawn behind my Ryder, so I usually don't see it would be a good fix, if possible.
Possibly another weak system problem: Sometimes on the Nexus my Ryder would move as if in slow motion, sprinting worked fine though, other characters would move similarly weird as well. The problem disappeared after a while.
With fixed squadmate weapons, I hoped they would also always have their corresponding weapon in cutscenes. They don't and it bugs me.
Gameplay
The need to get to one of those little pods to change weapons and armor is really annoying. That system was ok for Mass Effect 2 and 3 which was mission based, but in an open world game is quite annoying.
I didn't evolve any power far enough, but I assume it doesn't work: allow to switch between different Power Evolutions without having to respec, similar to how you could switch between different Power Upgrades in Inquisition with Trespasser.
When higher versions of a Blueprint become available, the ones of lower levels should disappear from the Menu, it just clutters it all up and is unneeded.
I wish there was one other option for when to show/hide helmets: On for Global Hazards. For example on Eos, when I rund around in the protected areas my and my squadmates helmets wouldn't show. As soon as I step outside of the shields, the helmets appear.
Recharge Life Support Systems when entering the Nomad. At least partial restoration of Ryders life support would be nice when going back into the Nomad. The Life Support bar is segmented after all.
Navigating the Galaxymap is pretty, but dam is it slow. Not something that can be fixed probably, but still...ugh. The view is super pretty though.
Allow people to freely assign their powers to the slots in Multiplayer. Maybe I missed it, but that would be a quality of life change. Currently I have to remap my power key bindings whenever I switch to a different character in Multiplayer.

I got less than 3 hours left from the early access... I hated it, because I need to rush everything on singleplayer. This early access shouldn't be limited to 10 hours for those who pre-ordered the game.

I really like Mass Effect: Andromeda. There's something about the way the story is presented that makes me yearn to know more: much like in ME1 I find myself wanting to uncover the secrets behind everything, with the Andromeda Initiative being a dark and mysterious presence...hidden in plain view. There are some fairly major flaws on display here, with performance issues clouding my 10 hour trial (multiple crashes to desktop, hard freezes) which far outweighed any of the much deplored face and body animation issues on display (there are quite a few). This is potentially a flawed masterpiece that needs a bit of TLC before it can truly shine: but all of the things that matter are present: Story, Characters, Atmosphere, Music and Voice work are all very well done with the odd exception ( Tired Face et al). Music and story are, to me, extremely well presented and the way it's unfolding as a mystery plot set amidst a tale of pure survival makes me crazy intrigued...this wait till release day is going to be some hardcore cold turkey indeed. Things I like: * Combat is sublime, no two ways about it, it's the best the series has seen and movement in general is amazing, top stuff. * Character Development - Amazing use of skill trees, abilities and customisation: this is how you do an ARPG progression system. * Music - This is my favourite soundtrack in the series, I'm being serious here: it's very emotive and is only rivaled by ME2's OST. * Story - Far more mysterious than I first gave it credit for, there are big things about to go down and I can't wait to see it unravel. * Characters - It's early days, but my early favourite is Liam: his banter and blossoming friendship with Ryder are great to witness. * Exploration - There's a real sense of exploring that I haven't felt since... *cue Darth Vadar turn*...ME1. The scanner is actually fun too, surprisingly. * Environmental Storytelling - Lots of little details around, easter eggs and audio logs: great for lore hounds and ME nerds like me. * The Visuals - Absolutely stunning in 4K upscaled / 60fps with HDR running... it's a stunning, stunning space adventure for sure. * The Voicework - Ryder, Alec and the main crew are all really well done: the NPCs are a bit hit or miss, but overall it's really good. * Art Direction - The vibrant worlds and contrasting Remnant technology make for an explosion of enticement for your Retinas. * The Difficulty - Playing on Hardcore, and man...it's pretty freaking hard! I would liken it to Insanity in the ME:T, Enemy AI is better than I first thought. * Atmosphere - Ambient chatter and sound, music on missions and quest design all contribute to a mysterious yet light hearted vibe: hard to describe..but it's good. Things I don't like: * Performance - Now, it runs amazingly well with a near steady 60fps on a 980 even: but CTD/Freezes have happened a few times, not a fan. * Squad Customisation - I get they are doing their own thing, but not customising your squad's weapons/armor feels off. * Facial Animations - These didn't bother me after about 30 minutes, but they deserve to be mentioned: they are no better (or worse) than ME1, weird. * NPC Conversation System - Sometimes you're talking to NPCs backs and they don't turn to you, it's quite a scene, man. * Save System - BioWare are looking at patching this already, but not being able to save on Priority missions is just dumb, dumb as bro. * The Difficulty - Double edged sword, as much as I like it being quite hard, your squadmates are very squishy. * Loot Acquirement System - Opening containers pauses the game and takes you out of the world for a moment: somewhat immersion breaking. I've also dabbled in the Strike Team multiplayer and I have to say, it's frakking excellent this time around: feels like ME3MP with a lot more love and attention paid to the little things, along with top-notch presentation to boot. Verticality adds a whole new dimension to the MP game here, with tactics such as drawing fire, tactical retreat and killzoning already becoming apparent in teamwork even without comms: so much fun! The BioWare Montreal team specialise in MP, and you can tell: everything feels super polished and the fun factor is very high: it's intense though, holy shit...even Bronze is pretty hardcore this time around (or I'm a newb with my controller on PC, hard to say haha). Overall, I can't wait to jump back into this adventure: it feels like Mass Effect in every way that counts, and with some spit and polish, should achieve Spectre status.Scott "Ivory Samoan" Ryder - Still eating vat grown KFC all these years in the future.

Negative first here:
1. Eye-lid animation on almost all characters, especially humans and turian. It looks fake. The eyelids seem like "clunky ". Like panels, that are awkardly attached to the eyeballs.
2. Female turian voice seems to have been "eletricified". It sounds too artificial.
3. During the game there have been a few bugs with the quest monitor. It will tell me to keep talking to someone, when I can't do anything but say goodbye. specifically "Sid".
4. The facial hear selection when you customize, is literally just a texture choice on the character. The beard is just "paint" on the characters face. something that was done well in the previous Mass Effect games, now seems to have regressed on this point.
5. Scott/Sara seems a bit .. unperturbed but the events in the story. They roll a little too well with the punches. I can't really say more because of spoilters. But the characters take it a little too well in stride what happens. Either time passes much quicker between conversations that real time, or they bounce back darn fast.
6. We need to be able to skip travel animations between planets. The tram can skip yes. But the flights ... no. And damn it... it looks beautiful the first 10-20 times you do it. But then you just want to be able to scan... and get on with the game. And the skip prevention is just too darn annoying. Got to patch that in asap.
Now to the good parts.
Everything else really. I believe I have played through the entire content that was possible to play, even risked my life support bar to get to more content. So I hope I didn't miss anything.
Everything is rewarding, and the combat leaves you wanting more. You can tell that a majority of the effort has gone into perfecting the combat system. And you can feel the love there. it's too bad that the single player part of the game has suffered a bit animation-wise compared to the ME 3, because that would be the cherry on top of the perfect cake.
Did I regret my pre-ordering the game? for the 10 hours or so of content so far. No. The game has left me wanting more. The Singleplayer alone, I will spend a lot of time in, I am certain already.
The only concern is, have they focused enough on the story as we play through this game? Or will the combat have taken such a high priority, that the story itself, will be neglected? I hope not. There are some cracks in the glossy armor that is this game. Animation-wise, writing-wise. But nothing that I would consider major. But we need the entire game to really tell. This could be a flaw throughout, but it could be a bit of a flaky beggining that turns into a perfect pearl. The potential for a reboot of the entire franchise after the ME 3 ending debacle is clear.
If the story holds, no worries. This will be epic. Because all other elements have been covered in my opinion. Should this game not become a success, it will be because the story telling elements failed. Not the combat.
The nomad is really well done. Again there are some really tiny animation bugs. But easily disregarded because, how else would you do it? This was done really well. It's only a tiny animation bug when you move over rocks that are smaller than the vehicle. Yet it's not something I would put in high in the priority of things to solve.
My opinion on what needs to be fixed for perfection:
1. eyelid animation during cutscenes. 2. get rid of the "electric" sounds effect on turian females.
Then people will be able to focus where they should, on the story.

My opinion on what's there to improve:
Improve CC (presets, more options to customize etc.), face animations need polishing (EYES, PLEASE, you made better eyes in ME2 and 3), more options to customize your squad would be nice, also being able to command them more and being able to skip this travel animation because I already can see this will be fun for only first 3749 times. Beside that game is good and fun and there are much more things I love about it than I don't like.
Main 4 things I want to praise are combat (so-much-fun), customization of your character in game (weapons, crafting, skill tree) codex that saves all of your decisions and psychological profile of your Ryder and journal that is detailed and good.
EDIT:
When it comes to multiplayer - when it works it's so much fun thanks to polished combat but servers like to not work sometimes correctly. But I know that's like every early on-line game ever problem so it's fine.

I want to love this game, but everything is so clunky!! Off the top of my head and in no particular order:
Movement: It's so weird, there's these slow turning accelerations... movement in say, DA:I felt better.
Aiming/Shooting: The first time I got into combat, I pull out the Predator pistol and start shooting. The thing was not firing half the time, or firing at irregular intervals. That was, mind you, using a controller. Later on I got the Viper sniper rifle (my favorite type of gun), and I was having a really hard time hitting anything... then I switched from controller to keyboard/mouse and it was 10x better. Do I just suck with a controller? How do console players do it?
Scanning: The cursor movespeed keeps changing when using the scanner, it is so annoying... and clunky!! Worse with a controller again.
Cover: Wow the auto cover is hard to get used to. For the life of me I can never get it to work like I want... say I want to lean out to the left to get some shot in, I usually can't do it. Unless I "flip" the hand I use and magically become left-handed. Maybe. Clunky!!!
Conversation wheel: The thing often flickers briefly right before in comes into view...very distracting. Then, with a mouse, I find myself having a hard time selecting the line I want. I try to do it IN the wheel like in past ME and DA games, but it's like it doesn't track my cursor properly, or the "hit box" inside the wheel is too small? Selecting the text itself works okay, but otherwise... clunky.
Interaction button: Why do I need to hold the interaction button to select stuff or talk to people??? Please let me just click.
Scrolling Lists: I have a lot of gripes with the menus, but the biggest one is the scrolling. Do not roll back to beginning when getting to the end of a list!! Especially when selling/buying stuff that you have more that 1 off. I just keep scrolling back to 0 when I want to sell all.

I've played 8 hours of the trial so far and have hit the story block. Man did those hours fly! Cons - Starting with this first. Only major grip I had was the CC but some bugs crept in and I'll mention them later. - Limited CC [major] - Being the first thing I got my hands on, the set of presets and very limited control we have over those presets was pretty disappointing. I wasted 2 hours of my trial trying to make something I was happy with and when I finally succeeded... the skin texture in game made my character look like they had literally rubbed dirt on their faces. It's like part of the skin didn't properly lighten when I lightened the skin tone. Looked fine in the CC, but in game it was painfully glaring. This was with two different presets, preset 8 and 6. Also, the range of the skin tone slider didn't allow for anything near the default Ryder's skin tone unless you picked the asian preset. After two hours, I finally just picked default Sara. Really wish you could edit her. I'd literally be happy just to change her eye color.
- Some things I'd like to see in the future regarding the CC:
- Tweaking the default Ryders. I mostly like them, so being able to change their eyes and hair would be nice.
- Ability to change nose, brow, and eye type. I'd like the majority of presets a lot more if I could swap those parts between some of them. Why was this striped out?
- Greater range in the skin tone slider (and the rest of the sliders, honestly). See my complaint above.
- Better hair texture. Pleaaaase. Sara's pony tail is wonderfully textured, but the same style on a custom is soooo flat. Considering Bioware went with preset colors, I don't understand what happened? With a color wheel you might have to worry about the texture being washed out on certain colors, sure, but with preset colors you can fix???
- Skin texture swap? This would probably require more work but if the dirty skin texture thing can't be fixed for lighter tones, let me use the different textures between the presets, please. TAT
- Remove gender lock between the hair styles. If more hair styles aren't feasible, at least allow us to use all the available ones between different genders. I was really surprised to see the cornrows locked to the female.

- Dead "Doll" Eyes [minor/major] - this didn't bother me too much with previews and short videos. Now that I got the game and spent several hours staring at them... Ouch. The humans need serious help. The texture of the eyes is what's doing it, I think. They're flat. No darker outer eye to offset the too light inside. Just doing that, and maybe making the iris a little bigger, and adding texture would help. Alien eyes look fine, btw, but they have way more texture in the iris and no huge whites.
- Interaction Button [minor] - Poster above me reminded me about this. Holding down e to interact was weird and got annoying pretty fast. I'd love for this to be removed or made toggleable.
Pros - This list will probably far surpass the negatives I stumbled across. My overall impression of the game is very positive despite the CC and I had a lot of fun playing it! Hitting the story block left me frustrated, but in a good way. I want to continue so bad. XD - Characters - Minus the people I personally disliked for various reasons, I loved the entire Tempest crew, which is big for me because every game I played there's been at least a few of the crew I didn't like. PeeBee was the one I was mostly worried about, but I think she has potential after seeing her in game. I don't think we'll be best buds, but I liked her well enough. Liam and Cora are good starting squadmates, and while I didn't use Vetra - mainly to save her for my actual playthrough - I loved what I saw of her. Kallo is a great character, and Suvi and Gil were very likeable as well. Lexi seems nice too, and I'm interested to see where her story goes!
- Enviroments - While I was only limited to the one planet, that and the other places I was able to go looked well designed and I enjoyed exploring where I could! There was no dead, empty spaces that I could find and I know that will make many people happy! If all the other planets are populated like the first with things to find and do, I will waste hour upon hour scouring around.
- Tempest - Love the design of the pathfinder's ship! My only minor grip is layout but that may go away as I get more familiar with it. Took me forver to stubmle across my quarters though. Not sure why, but it was literally the last place left to look when I went searching.
- Nomad - This thing, man. I love it to death, but changing between gears became a little annoying. It handles pretty well on KB+M unless you're doing something deliberately crazy like Skyrim-ing steep cliffs and other things you reasonably shouldn't be able to climb in a vehicle. XD
- Story - So far I like what I've seen. Since this is spoiler free, I can't really go into what I like about it, but I'm eagerly waiting for the 21st so I can continue!
- Dialogue - For me the dialogue has been pretty good. I love all the banter I've heard, though it's a little too easy to accidentally cut it off if I'm moving too fast or stumble across something else that initiates more banter. So far I've bounced between between all four tones and it makes Sara seem far more diverse as a personality than the old P/R system, though there's been at least one or two times I really wanted to yell at someone and missed a renegade type response. (This is coming from a mostly Paragon player, too.) I generally play a very diplomatic type character prone to sarcasm and wit, but I really, really wanted to give someone a piece of my mind at least once in my trial.
- Quests - So far I've liked all the quests I've gotten, both priority and side quests. One quest I'm almost certain will come back to bite me in the ass, but it'll be fun regardless! Also curiosity is both rewarded and sometimes punished, which is a wonderful balance and keeps you on your toes.
Bugs - These were thankfully minor and did not happen very often. I've heard some other people are getting it pretty bad, but this was my personal experience. I'm running on Win7, with an i5-4690 @ 3.5GHz, GTX 1070 w/ 8GB, and 16 GB of RAM. I can run the game on all ultra settings, but I did bump some things to high to avoid any potential problems in crowded areas as a just in case measure. - Buggy Animations [minor] - The overall animations of the game don't bother me too much and I got accustomed to them pretty fast. I'm overall content with what we have, but there were bugs. Default Sara had some weird issue in her neck region where the head and upper neck connect to the lower neck. The lower neck looked fixed and whenever she'd turn her head, that line would become a sharp point (like pencil tip sharp o.O) as the upper neck and head turned and stretched and the lower neck and body did not turn at all. It was just weird and not at all subtle. Pretty sure its a bug though because it only happened a few times.
- Odd Graphical Glitches [minor] - This only happened a few times, but I feel its worth mentioning. There were some artifacts and rendering around Sara's helment in the first mission of the game. The reflection sometimes went weird and sometimes the area around the helmet glass would get, I don't know, static-y? Like TV white noise but with the opacity turned down just enough to kind of see the background landscape through it. Pretty minor but very noticeable when it happens.
- Freeze in Game [minor/major] - This only happened once, and it was during the opening movie. Thankfully it was when I decided to pick default Sara, because losing a custom face after the frustration of fiddling with something for so long would have really killed my excitement. Hasn't happened since then, though, so not sure what caused it.
- Addison's Makeup [minor] - Since this is just a makeup grip, this shouldn't be considered a spoiler. Her makeup is way too bright and makes her look like a clown. o.O Is it an opacity issue or is it deliberate? Bug or not, it probably needs to be toned down or I will never be able to take her seriously.

Probably low on the priority list, but it's starting to really bug me that turian NPC faces mostly look like unpainted white clay without texture or shading. Also all of the males seem to use Garrus' head?

Probably low on the priority list, but it's starting to really bug me that turian NPC faces mostly look like unpainted white clay without texture or shading. Also all of the males seem to use Garrus' head? I noticed the Krogan so far seem to be monocolour on their plates and face/necks too. Found it odd, since they always had contracting coloured plates in the OT

So my time is about up. The distinct impression is I'm playing two different games. One game; the combat, exploration and controls are all quite good. The other game; dialog, writing, animations and choices are not great. Sometimes amateurish. I'd go as far to say this feels the least confident in the writing department than anything else in the trilogy. Most claim this gets better later on, but I can say with confidence the first ten hours aren't strong. The worst of it is the dialog. Characters often sound naive or say inane things. Sometimes they use a type of odd slang that may have sounded good to the writer, but in practice it's not working at all. At one point, a character under stress says she can't deal with it all and that her 'face is tired'. What? What does that even mean? That was just one of several nonsensical dialogs I ran into. Often it falls flat or feels out of context. Three other problems: menus are very inefficient to navigate. Planet scanning is back in more or less ME2s form. And exploring the galaxy map is hindered by an unskippable zoom in-zoom out cutscene, every single time you want to examine something. These issues alone could add hours of unnecessary frustration to the game.
So the combat and gameplay might be worth the price of admission for some, but the writing and roleplaying don't look good so far. Also, I tried two MP matches and it was a janky mess. Didn't play as smooth as SP, and it uses peer to peer instead of servers, so when the host left the match just ended.

The lighting is off in the Nexus, everything looks like there's an intense spotlight pointing down on it. It washes the colours and textures of the NPCs.

Okay I finally ran out my time on my trial. I ended in the Nomad. Wow!!!! I am a bad driver! I'm surprised Vetra an Liam weren't screaming, "OMG!!! Let me out!" If there is a Nomad turtling achievement I'm sure I will get that one soon. That being said let me get on with my final thoughts. I love the story. I haven't been this engaged in my characters since ME1. Ryder is as ignorant as I am about everything. So she has become my vehicle of discover. More importantly I get to chose how I make those discoveries. I love the new tones you've incorporated. It makes it easier for me to play my "head canon" Ryder. As a result, I am already planning my next Ryders and I haven't even flirted once. The writers nailed it here. Good job! I've said before that I am not great at shooters, but on normal I am doing fine, almost too fine. After playing the ME trilogy two more times in the last 4 months, I have become almost too skilled for the normal setting. I think I may have to up my game level to hard. We'll see. I am all about the story and like to be challenged, but getting frustrated will ruin the story for me. So, I'll have to think about that. I am also struggling to find out how somethings work. For instance, the helmet toggle was not placed in an intuitive spot (thank you again SofaJockey for letting me know where this is located). I expected to find it quickly, but it was at the bottom of the game play menu. That's not the problem. The whole "click the arrow" thing is a bit annoying. I'm sure it works great for controllers, but for us KB&M people it is cumbersome. It also took me awhile to discover that the tab key will exit out of the map with out having to jump through 3 menu's using escape. Maybe you should change the map indicator to "Use Tab". Lets be honest. That would be a cleaner solution. This all goes back to my original impression that the KB&M GUI is a bit clunky. Its a bit late in the game for a redesign (no pun intended), but cleaning things up a little will make a difference. Finally, please fix the quick save. By habit, I punch F5 about every 5 minutes as I play and only use the menu save before I start an important battle or enter into a decision making conversation. I read that this will not be a Day 1 patch. If you would be able to make this a Week 1 patch that would be fantastic. All things considered I am really enjoying this game. Thank you for all your hard work. I m going to the gym now and will try and get as much exercise as possible before 9:00 PM on Monday when I can get back into the game and try and figure out how to get the Nomad out of the settlement without crashing into every building, container, and rock in sight.

I am about 6 hours in, and I am having a lot of fun. However, I am having a LOT of hard crashes, restarting my computer. I have a new Windows 10 gaming laptop and I am considerably above the minimum specs, and also higher than the recommended specs.
Other than the crashes, which are rather a considerable inconvenience, I love the game so far and would like to thank the devs. Just hope performance can be improved.

I really like Mass Effect: Andromeda. There's something about the way the story is presented that makes me yearn to know more: much like in ME1 I find myself wanting to uncover the secrets behind everything, with the Andromeda Initiative being a dark and mysterious presence...hidden in plain view. There are some fairly major flaws on display here, with performance issues clouding my 10 hour trial (multiple crashes to desktop, hard freezes) which far outweighed any of the much deplored face and body animation issues on display (there are quite a few). This is potentially a flawed masterpiece that needs a bit of TLC before it can truly shine: but all of the things that matter are present: Story, Characters, Atmosphere, Music and Voice work are all very well done with the odd exception ( Tired Face et al). Music and story are, to me, extremely well presented and the way it's unfolding as a mystery plot set amidst a tale of pure survival makes me crazy intrigued...this wait till release day is going to be some hardcore cold turkey indeed. Things I like: * Combat is sublime, no two ways about it, it's the best the series has seen and movement in general is amazing, top stuff. * Character Development - Amazing use of skill trees, abilities and customisation: this is how you do an ARPG progression system. * Music - This is my favourite soundtrack in the series, I'm being serious here: it's very emotive and is only rivaled by ME2's OST. * Story - Far more mysterious than I first gave it credit for, there are big things about to go down and I can't wait to see it unravel. * Characters - It's early days, but my early favourite is Liam: his banter and blossoming friendship with Ryder are great to witness. * Exploration - There's a real sense of exploring that I haven't felt since... *cue Darth Vadar turn*...ME1. The scanner is actually fun too, surprisingly. * Environmental Storytelling - Lots of little details around, easter eggs and audio logs: great for lore hounds and ME nerds like me. * The Visuals - Absolutely stunning in 4K upscaled / 60fps with HDR running... it's a stunning, stunning space adventure for sure. * The Voicework - Ryder, Alec and the main crew are all really well done: the NPCs are a bit hit or miss, but overall it's really good. * Art Direction - The vibrant worlds and contrasting Remnant technology make for an explosion of enticement for your Retinas. * The Difficulty - Playing on Hardcore, and man...it's pretty freaking hard! I would liken it to Insanity in the ME:T, Enemy AI is better than I first thought. * Atmosphere - Ambient chatter and sound, music on missions and quest design all contribute to a mysterious yet light hearted vibe: hard to describe..but it's good. Things I don't like: * Performance - Now, it runs amazingly well with a near steady 60fps on a 980 even: but CTD/Freezes have happened a few times, not a fan. * Squad Customisation - I get they are doing their own thing, but not customising your squad's weapons/armor feels off. * Facial Animations - These didn't bother me after about 30 minutes, but they deserve to be mentioned: they are no better (or worse) than ME1, weird. * NPC Conversation System - Sometimes you're talking to NPCs backs and they don't turn to you, it's quite a scene, man. * Save System - BioWare are looking at patching this already, but not being able to save on Priority missions is just dumb, dumb as bro. * The Difficulty - Double edged sword, as much as I like it being quite hard, your squadmates are very squishy. * Loot Acquirement System - Opening containers pauses the game and takes you out of the world for a moment: somewhat immersion breaking. I've also dabbled in the Strike Team multiplayer and I have to say, it's frakking excellent this time around: feels like ME3MP with a lot more love and attention paid to the little things, along with top-notch presentation to boot. Verticality adds a whole new dimension to the MP game here, with tactics such as drawing fire, tactical retreat and killzoning already becoming apparent in teamwork even without comms: so much fun! The BioWare Montreal team specialise in MP, and you can tell: everything feels super polished and the fun factor is very high: it's intense though, holy shit...even Bronze is pretty hardcore this time around (or I'm a newb with my controller on PC, hard to say haha). Overall, I can't wait to jump back into this adventure: it feels like Mass Effect in every way that counts, and with some spit and polish, should achieve Spectre status.Scott "Ivory Samoan" Ryder - Still eating vat grown KFC all these years in the future. Played the first 3-4 hour and overall i'm really impressed and i completly agree on this pros and cons list made by samoan. I add my voice to the absolutly inexplicable choice about removing quicksaving in the main mission, i'm really at loss in figuring out the reason around this choice. For the rest i've found the cover system not being always responsive as quickly or smoothly as i wanted.

There could be better explanations for the UI. Some things are not terribly intuitive, and even after my 10 hours of play time I still have no idea what does or does not count towards inventory spaces. Also, it would be nice to be able to track more than one assignment at a time, especially for say collecting corpses of colonists or finding the experiment with the main story mission. Additionally others said, the intermittent textures/characters popping in and out and the facial animations. On a similar note, nothing that can be changed now, but it would be nice for future DLC/games/etc. is that the characters don't seem to display much emotion where you would expect one like when your father dies, and your character shows little, if any emotion about it. I understand there is some distance between the family, but surely it would elicit more emotion than, say, have a random associate you've known for a couple days die. Sorry about the spoilers (in the text) but I can't give proper feedback without giving context to why I think it needs adjustment. Edit: Forgot to mention, it might just be my own impatience sometimes, but it would be nice to get the ability to skip the travel intro to planets. It's nice to see for the most part- but when I'm jumping from one planet to the next 6-7 times in a row, by planet 4 I'm impatiently waiting and left wanting to skip the travel bit. I'm sure the sequence doesn't take more than 10 seconds, so it's not a huge deal, but it's doesn't feel as fluid as it did back in ME 2/3 Other than all of that, I like what I see so far.

Ryder feels really preset, even more so than Shep, feels like I get 'emotional action hero' or 'stoic action hero' or 'slightly confused action hero' rather than a real character, an archetype for storytelling purposes who gets to pick what TONE (s)he agrees with the NPC in, rather than, as with Shep, being able to show brutal pragmatism, or idealism, or tell the guy why he sucks..

I've played seven hours of Origin Access on my pc:
-Everyone's animations are just fine except for Sara's -CC is abysmal and I cannot wait for the mods to start rolling in for the pc -It felt frustrating trying to play with a keyboard and mouse. And since my computer was not 100% happy running it anyway (it crashed on me just once on an elevator loading screen) I have re-preordered it on X-Box. I'll play through it on X-Box at launch then welcome the mods on pc with open arms on subsequent playthroughs
Otherwise this seems like a fantastic game. Love all the characters so far, writing in the short time I played seemed great. It's good to be back with a Mass Effect title again.
