Just caught up on all the latest posts. Thanks for all the great feedback, both good and bad, it's all appreciated! Just one piece of info for those of you running into bugs: if you don't mind, please report them on the Answers HQ website to make it easier for us to track, fix, and patch them. Thanks again! Really looking forward to seeing folks get into the real meat of the game (i.e. not just the prologue) in a few days! Looking forward to playing the game! Also, can you say for sure if you will be able to allow us to manual save/quick save in "priority missions"/critical missions in the next patch? It would greatly improve my and other people's experience with the game if you do this. Just let us save when out of combat in general please.

It would greatly improve my and other people's experience with the game if you do this. Just let us save when out of combat in general please. I can't promise anything, but that is indeed one of several things currently under consideration for patching. It's a start. I'll take what I can get. Thank you! This is (aside from technical issues, bugs and the like) my only real complaint about this game. Remove this restriction, and I and I'm sure others as well will be very happy. Again, looking forward to the release of the game. Enjoyed the trial overall and I'm sure I'll enjoy the game as a whole too.

Here is my feedback after playing 10 hours of single player. Overall I liked the game and have preordered it. Things I liked: - The side quests so far were a great improvement from DA:I/the eavesdropping side quests from ME3
- The run/walk for female Ryder is much improved, especially as compared with DA:I
- The jetpack/biotic jump is fun
- I like being able to select from all combat abilities and powers
- It seems like Sam will be interesting, and also I am looking forward to the pc having a twin
Things I disliked: - CC -- I liked the character I made, but there were very few customization options. I would like to be able to pick eyebrow shape/color (or have the color match the hair), eye size/shape, nose, etc. For female hairstyles I would like to see a bun and braids/braided updos.
- I hated not being able to save during priority missions and having to redo stuff
- The very first planet was a bit boring to me, but the game picked up after I reached the nexus
- Disliked the Nomad -- I am so bad at driving it!
- Not keen on Peebee's intro

I know so many people have extended their opinions views and ideas just as I am about too but hopefully it'll differ in some points as I was madly in love with the original ME story with the OG crew I came into the trial knowing that it was unrelated to the original story and being still early on in the trial but far enough to have a good point to make we fell in love with the connections to characters their hardships and the connections weren't forced they had introductions and reasons for why we made connections and why we felt hurt and affected when our favorite characters died off we had stories and experiences with them that made us care from the original well that philosophy hasn't held up its potential in the intro your forced into your title out of nowhere with no connection no time and no feelings connected with a certain someone that gives you that title there is a lack of attention for the deeper connections cause I didn't feel a shred of care for that characters outcome nor did I feel any care from ryder it just wasn't long enough to see any connection other then the need to be good enough to meet his expectations. characters obviously need good animation and it really needs an upgrade I hate saying it but ME 3 right from the get go felt like a much better tied together focused appreciated and connected game then Andromedas intro at the least the ambition for the game is huge but within huge ambition the need for a super focused attention to detail is needed npc's animations emotions it all needs to be given a good update to make it feel like the universe is more of an immersive experience the first contact really shouldnt have gone the way it did, it should have had different outcomes for each decision made did you attack first did you put your gun away did you shoot the alien thats hostile if you did nothing were you taken hostage it shouldn't have lead to the same outcome but that part isnt particularly important as its the intro and the rest of the game can make further sense on that situation and further to come iv scanned through the forums everyone dislikes the robotic unemotional animations on the faces really make it feel like its an old fallout game that needs more emotion to care. that guy you become friends with liam should have really had some impact on the intro as your friend like a backstory cut-scenes that gave context to previous relations back on earth before the initiative started and why youll be really good friends as you continue the journey. the main bad guy.... lol I felt absolutely no fear or concern about this guy he does not look scary the alien kett look generic like they werent sure how to make a new species look in a different galaxy so they borrowed ideas from already existing aliens from previous games he reminds me of that ancient alien comrade you can acquire through DLC in ME 3 you got the wild life spot on but you could put a baby pacifier in the main baddies mouth and he would look like an adorable overgrown alien baby enough is not known about him to determine weather or not he should be the baddie or scary at all but if he is I could see him being a good comrade rather enemy much like garrus was to us back in the older games but the thing that made me very upset was the fact that nothing you did in the past reflects the now in Andromeda I get it different time lines and such but when you cure genophage take down reapers and create an emotional roller coaster of a history and enter a game years and years later and the intro hasnt added any relevance to it you kinda feel empty like your ship the tempest which looks exactly like the one from ME series is the only thing I really feel carried over that was really cool and obviously character creation needs tweaked let us edit ryders default look add way more options for our own creations other then that the auto cover is completely useless were playing a game which means we control a character to do things when we run up to something for cover you want it to feel like a solid action you made like your snug stuck to the cover and are gonna leave it on your own command if you simply walk up and it auto hides sort of its really unrealistic and doesnt feel flattering I dont even see a use to auto cover as it doesnt really feel real solid and almost makes it more difficult to make tactical combat choices but now onto further things that I need to commend bioware for
on ps4 pro im hoping this looks and feels better with the enhancements ps4 pro offers over 720p xbox crud as the world and graphics aside from animations are stellar the gorgeous new planets and scenery are incredible the floating rocks are so alien like it really does feel like your stepping onto a world that is unlike our own earth the combat is spectacular aside from auto cover its engaging the exploration and mobility upgrades are awesome maybe work on fluidity of the characters movement when running around and climbing stuff it feels a bit static really want to stress connections with other characters cant wait to find out if later on in the game things really end up fixing themselves where they lacked in the intro I ultimately thought they should delay the game further until animations are upgraded outcomes from decisions mean more to what happens or follows in the game with short term decisions and long term decisions over all love the idea of being stranded in a new galaxy where everything that was to go good went wrong love all of that now all we need is to find out just how big and challenging the enemies can become and telling from the scope of the past reaper enemies bioware hopefully has some huge freaking intense scenes and situations coming our way with that ancient alien tech I really want to see some connections with likable characters like garrus and liona and the salarian scientist who was awesome but with new people like liam and aliens you create bonds with along the story some real bad*** looking comrades I also loved the new galaxy map was not expecting that but wow... that was cool very cool and I cant wait for it to be released I only have one last negative left to state... I dont like the fact that early access was left out for play station seeing as its the most powerful console at this point you'd think it would release at the same time as the xbox version and have a free trial and everything too that was a huge let down to see sony pushed aside for a console that only runs the game at 720p quality not cool thankfully I have both until Scorpio comes out im hoping that when scorpio is released this game will be amongst those that look absolutely incredible on the new console its a hope... hope you can forgive the lack of grammar If bioware is looking through these threads I hope they dont just focus on the good reviews and ignore the bad reviews and take some serious attention towards polishing the if ands or buts of the games animations some of us arent complaining its a bad game but to make it meet its full potential some changes definitely should have been made and a delay would have been fully fine if it means perfecting a potential masterpiece thanks

You should at least try to bother using punctuation if you actually want someone to read your text.

Please I tried to read that. More punctuation and paragraphs to break it up please. I only had about 45 mins of early access so far. I have been super busy building a new PC for my soon to be 63 year old mum, her birthday is on Sunday, so she can play next week. However the CC needs work. A lot of work. It seems to have less options than ME3. Why am I stuck with those ears? Why does my 22 year old have worse laugh and frown lines than I do at almost forty? The start seemed fine to me, but I hate how conversations/banter are broken by doing virtually anything. If I'm scanning they are interrupted, if i interact they are interrupted. I am also not a fan of holding a key to interact.

The nomad can't run over those little bug enemies... what's up with that? (Or can it not run over any enemies? didn't try vs the kett or remnant). Kind of annoying having to get out just to shoot a little bug. lol

Thank you Tiberius for giving us (the community) the chance to give our feedback regarding the early access portion of ME:A My initial impressions of the game are fantastic, I'm in love I'm going to split my thoughts into two categories, the great & the could be better. What's Great: - The tone of the game is perfect. I feel It is a mixture between ME1 & 2 - The press start Menu is great, specially when you press A - Every character looks great - I approve of the Multiplayer mode, it is amazing - The menus are the best among the other ME games - Gun sounds, foot steps and Jet pack effects are great - The voice over is top notch - Return of the "good" old auto cover system - Loading screens are awesome - Combat is great - Loved the over the shoulder cam - Every character is interesting even the minor ones - The lighting is terrific - As a lover of the Mako vehicle, the Nomad feels amazing to drive - The general atmospheres are amazing - Starting mission is so beautiful & great - Love the inside of the Hyperion - The Soundtracks are awesome - The Tempest & Nexus made me feel home (feels so Mass Effecty) - Sara Ryder - First mission gave me a nice taste of what greatness awaits in Mass Effect Andromeda (I love it) What could be better:- The character movement/animation feel a little stiff - Encountered a few multiplayer Character movement weirdness - Sprinting animation might need some tweaking (Specially Alien species) - The character creator is not bad at all but need some love - When moving from one point to other while in air (using the jet pack) the world doesn't load as fast as it should (this happened in multiplayer) - Game savings - Not being able to suit my squad for my needs Thank you BioWare for making this awesome game

Looking forward to playing the game! Also, can you say for sure if you will be able to allow us to manual save/quick save in "priority missions"/critical missions in the next patch? It would greatly improve my and other people's experience with the game if you do this. Just let us save when out of combat in general please. I can't promise anything, but that is indeed one of several things currently under consideration for patching. Just watching from the sidelines, I really hope you all can start rolling out patches pretty quickly. It looks like there's a good game underneath all the dust.

I don't know if this comment is gonna be any useful, but I feel like I might help with my opinion. First thing first: I absolutely LOVE the game, of course it does have some cringy things, but that doesn't mean the game overall is shit. So I'd like to tell you Frazier and to all the team that worked to this game: GOOD JOB. You deserve it. Now, the things I noticed are these: - Quick save lack and the impossibility to save during missions. I really feel like I have no control in my own game when I want to quick save right before I speak to someone or engage an enemy (just to be safe you know?) - Ok I know this is repetitive but of course, some facial animations. I know this can't be fixed with a patch, so don't worry about it. People will just get used to it like they did with the trilogy and that's it. - Multiplayer unbalances. This might not be objective, but I really feel like even the bronze difficulty is just too much, especially considering we just started the game with no cool gear and classes. - I don't think this can be fixed either, but I noticed the asari on the Nexus all have Lexi's face, even Avina...? Why's that? Please avoid it for the next game. - Character Creation: you don't have to add anything here (of course if you WANT to then it's fine, just saying you don't have to), the only thing you should do is unlocking the features that already are in the game. For example, the ability to choose the shape of the eyes, eyebrows and lips. I understand now that you can't change the etnicity because Alec Ryder is tyed to the pre-set you choose so that's fine. But please just let me choose the facial parts I want instead of forcing me to be stucked with a pre-set. The following are kind of a joke, but at the same time serious - Where are the sexy male turians romanceable? - You hired Natalie Dormer as voice actress for Lexi, but she's not romanceable? You really missed an opportunity for the GOTY there, just saying For the rest, I love it all. Gameplay amazingly dynamic, story compelling and interesting, characters beautifully voice-acted, engaging and expressive (sometimes they are not, but whatever ). This is gonna be a great game, thank you again for everything you've done and you'll continue to do. Hope this helps, I'm sorry for my English it's not my first language. Love you all

-If it's something that can be done, I'd like it if it could be made possible to tweak default Scott in a future update. The other (2) white male presets felt off during cutscenes IMO. -I don't like how the Skyrim-style mini-map was implemented personally, especially in closed spaces and multi-layered levels (like the Tempest).

(PC) Spent my 10 hours on the game, SP only. Really love what I've experienced so far. I've not experienced any crashes, but a few bugs here and there . Had to load last save once because the scanner didn't work after a cutscene After I talked to that Krogan down on Eos , but no real gamebreaking stuff and I hope much of it will be patched. Really liked the CC, had enough features for my personal preference. I don't feel the story is rushed so far, not experienced much of it anyways with the 10 hours, and I like what I've seen. Would be awesome if I could exit the map with one button click and not go through the menu every time. Facial animations aint that good, but it's no worse than Horizon for example. Body animations while running/sprinting is too stiff. Driving Nomad is fun. Graphics is really good on pc, with a 1070 card. Interesting characters, can't wait to get to know my companions more. Combat is so much fun, and voice acting is very good, impressed. I really love this game so far, but the early access aint enough to give me deep enough impressions on story, planets, characters etc, but its been so much fun playing it so far and can't wait for release. Been avoiding any spoilers, videos and others experiences like the plague to experience the early access for myself and form my own opinions on it. From the little I see here and there now I think it was a good call, will continue doing so after release. So much negativity it makes me sad Thanks Bioware, keep it up

You know I'm gonna put this out there since I've said more negative than positives...
Here's what I like the most out of the game so far: Ryder. In these few hours I've played, I've found the protagonist much more interesting than I ever found Shepard interesting. I'm currently playing as Scott, and the voice actor is absolutely awesome. He's a pleasure to listen to and much improvement over male Shepard.

So I burnt through all my 10 hours, I will say the game has promise, but there was ABSOLUTELY NO WAY it was ready for release.
Story: I actually do like it so far, I like that it is presented as a mystery and not everything is laid out right away. I am also very glad to see the game feels more like an RPG again (more like ME1)
Animations: Do I really need to beat this dead horse... ME1 had better facial animation and expressions. Bioware should honestly be ashamed to have released in this state. A lot of characters have eyes that look like plastic, it is pretty offputting.
MP: Good so far, but like the single player, and probably more so, it wasn't ready for release. I like that extraction is at wave 7 rather than 11 like ME3 MP. The enemy factions don't feel balanced though, some feel much harder or easier than others(Ket being hardest and remnant being much easier). There does seem to be a lot of glitchs yet. On numerous occasions sounds would be coming from the wrong direction(seriously annoying when trying to keep with your team even if you loose line of sight). I am not sure if it was a glitch or a missing feature, but when some one was talking on their mic, it did not show which player it was. This was annoying because of several occasions I ran into a player to had their mic stuck on picking up a crapload of background noise. So having some sort of visual on screen during a mission that would show who is speaking and what character they are playing would be great, would help in knowing who to mute if needed, but also with team coordination. Also... where the hell is the text chat... this is a basic feature. You would think that after the bad reaction to ME3 MP not having it they would have got the message. I have a mic and I use it, but there are times when I can't because I don't want to wake some one up because I am being to loud for example. It is inexcusable to not have such a simple feature in a pc co-op game.
Planets/Environments/Ships: I like what I have seen so far. Inside the tempest I especially liked, lots of attention to detail that made it feel like a home for the pathfinder team. The tempest is great.. did I mention I really loved the tempest.
Nomad: Love it so far. I was probably one of the few people that actually liked the Mako, so I am glad to see the return of a vehicle like the Nomad.
The game has been running stable and smooth for me, but my PC is above the recommended specs.
All that being said, I do have the game pre-ordered and have no intention of canceling it, but I will likely not buy any DLC until they fix many of the major issues.

Gameplay is quite different, but that isn't a bad thing.
Enemies are actually capable of flanking you now if you don't pay attention.
I don't like what's become of the cover, because I'm never paying enough attention to actually know if I'm properly in cover or not.

Okay, I finally finished the trial (I got to the point where I can't progress anymore). Let me just say the Eeos mission is very good in content, and I really loved the level design, as well as the pacing of everything... and I actually followed along with the story. The material collection and driving around to the glyphs weren't tedious - the activities were varied and interesting in execution so you didn't feel like roaming around the Exalted Plains and fetching things. I could tell the Mass Effect team put effort into making the mission activities dynamic and integrated in a constantly involving manner.
Eeos was awesome - at last I feel like there is potential to this game and I am going to enjoy it on some level overall.
The only drawbacks were the glaring defects (technical issues):
1. PeeBee not wearing a helmet like everyone else in a highly toxic environment!!!!!!11 Radiated particles every fucking where!!! Wtf!!
2. Squadmate AI. They died quite a lot, although I remember squadmates would die plenty in the original trilogy, as well. I can't tell if it's more this time.
3. Kett AI. Occasionally, in the first base on Eeos, Kett got stuck to the wall or cowered in cover indefinitely.
4. The music and sound was uneven. Although the music was engaging and excellent....unfortunately it was buggy and seemed to stutter or just... not be consistent.

* Also, Hardcore is really really hard! I kept dying! Those kett heavies are super difficult ;___;
* Eeos mission is really, really good! Restored my faith after the awkward Nexus experience.

Coming out of the blackout bunker to post a few thoughts on the trial. I played 9.5h of SP only. Didn't hit the story cut off, just ran out of time.
First off, I'm glad I can even run the game on my system. My cpu is well below the min specs but with low/med settings, I haven't had any issues. When first loading the game I had a single cutscene freeze but lowering the settings fixed that once I restarted.
I love the mystery angle. I want to find out what's going on, what's over there, why does this do this, all the things. Any time a game lets me play archaeologist, I'm all over that.
The jump-jets are way too much fun. I use them just to get to places faster. Of course their inclusion means they will be required for certain objectives.
Don't really have an opinion one way or the other on the animations, but visually what stands out for me is: everything has way too much white. The ships, the clothes, the Nexus. I couldn't wait to change the color on Ryder's outfit only to not be able to do so and have it stick. The reason for that being, the "spacebar" apply button isn't shown as an option to click while viewing the wardrobe. Second, everything is blocky, lumpy. I'm not sure if this is supposed to symbolize something or what, but armors, indoor environments, everything just seems much smoother in the ME trilogy than it does here.
Default Scott doesn't look like the previews I saw, unfortunately. Default Sara looks like she has seriously chapped lips. I didn't bother with the CC since I just wanted to get to playing, but I scrolled through the male presets and wasn't real impressed with the options.
Lack of manual saving in the entire prologue is annoying; lack of quick save altogether is stupid. I'm a compulsive saver because you never know in-game when the shit will hit the fan, you pick a wrong dialogue choice and an entire species dies, or you get a RL instance of the power going out. Quick save is a must.
UI is very busy. It has too many options and you need too many ESC presses to get back to the game. I have no idea if selling salvage is something I should do or if I just got rid of a bunch of crafting materials that I might have been able to use. Is my inventory not sellable?
Lastly, I hate the Nomad. I have no problem with the Mako, actually like it better than the Hammerhead, but trying to maneuver the Nomad with kb/m is a nightmare. That's actually the reason I ran out of time on Eos - trying to drive the damn thing and kept getting stuck in a puddle that the Mako could just jump over. Not to mention all the buildings and crates and whatnot it's nearly impossible to move around. The Nomad appears to be made for clear, open spaces only.
Well, that was longer than I thought it would be. Regardless of all the cons, I still can't wait to get back to playing once the full game releases. I've stayed fairly unspoiled about pretty much everything, so it will be fun to discover what's next on my own.

One pretty minor complaint I just remembered is that some of the female NPCs have got some seriously dreadful make-up on them. Addison is the worst offender out of the characters I've seen in the trial. The blush and the eyeshadow on her look terrible and I'm pretty sure that she'd look much better with no make-up on. I also feel like Suvi's lipstick has the wrong colour for her.
