Oi. I actually enjoyed my 3 hours of MEMP so far.
I got lucky and had nice classes in my free given boxes, but my gear's crappy.
After 2 hours of struggling and dying: I pretty much got bronze in a bag. Remnant being damn long sometimes. Just in ME3 i was able to solo till silver but i'm not there yet in ME:A.
Now if you are the sniper type of guy, the starting sniper riffle is... Ok-ish... If you iinvest your 5-6 first level points into weapon damage. I pretty much can one shot a basic ennemy if i'ld connnect with its head.
My favourite tho was the Asari sentinel: The shield that immunes to damage and even reflects bullets is neat. The tech power to create shield out of damage inflicted is awesome. I got a disciple shotgun in a lootcrate and i was rolling with that loadout.

Yes: me, SalMasRac and one of his friends (Mr. Trouzerz, I think) and XCPTNL . Last game before the captain finished his trial. It was brutal... I always have to giggle a bit when people read a "captain" out of my name instead of... well the actual intended "name". But don't worry, 99% of people don't get it, even the native english speaking ones don't. On topic: the game ended with under a minute left of my trial period. I got a message from Origin and was afraid the loading after the extraction might take to long for me to get XP and credits but it went well and just 15 seconds or so after I was thrown out of the lobby. That game on silver was fun but the extraction wave was brutal and I also got separated from the rest of the team and there were enemies everywhere. Only one of us made it out alive, I think it was SalMasRac with a tactical down in the extraction zone, reviving himself 2 secs before the timer ran out. The biggest problem in my opinion: I have unlocked several kits and weapon mods but my best weapons were a Katana II or III and a Charger II and they just don't do lot of damage.

I, too, for my part do remember very well how I started out in ME3MP on Bronze being convinced to try it out by two friends. Human soldier with a Valkyrie I (got that one in my free starter pack) - it was a slaughterhouse. I was down longer than I was shooting at the enemy, and damage-wise I sucked royally. Also, I was of the opinion that the jump from Bronze to Silver in ME3MP felt way harder than the eventual jump from Silver to Gold. Must've absolutely had something to do with being more experienced and having leveled-up weapons/powers, but killing armored enemies on Silver with a Tempest without any piercing whatsoever took ages - so I would imagine it to not be that much different now in ME:AMP. I played about 300 games mostly pugging exclusively on Bronze and Silver before I got the courage of trying out Gold for the first time...it seemed so much easier in comparison. On a sidenote: Don't forget ME3MP also had a long way to go before everything could be unlocked and played, be it characters, weapons, mods or even maps and enemies. When I started pugging Bronze, there was almost no lobby filled with complete noobs such as me - it was not seldom to have a level 20 Jugg or such with the Reegar or BW there killing everything for you. AND considering seemingly overly difficult factions in ME:AMP : Can you imagine what would've happened in ME3MP at the beginning if you would've jumped into a Condor Collectors game on Bronze with your Avenger I? Or having to cope with Dragoons and Geth Bombers buttrushing you from the very beginning? At the very least, I think we can assume that the devs will eventually step in and nerf enemies if they continue to be too hard. So let's just see and enjoy the game

One more thing I should add: in a direct comparison between vanilla versions of both games ME3MP was a lot easier than MEAMP is. When the demo was launched back then with only Cerberus as enemy faction, 2 maps and limited weaponary there was a first gold solo only a few days after. One of the main reasons for ME3MP being easier aside from changes in gameplay and such is the levelling in my opinion. You could level up a whole class pretty fast in ME3MP - in MEAMP you have to level up each kit individually AND it takes much much longer. Gone are the days of playing 1 game or getting 1 character card in a pack and jumping several levels up. During my 10hours I got my Vanguard to Level 12 or so I think. I guess with the right character cards, more luck with weapon drops, not playing a few games with other kits first and jumping into silver games earlier more could have been achieved - but nothing close to ME3MP where you can basically level several kits of the same class within a much shorter timeframe and can play gold with powerbased classed even without having unlocked gear, weapons and so on. When I started ME3MP (without gear, equipment, mods, good weapons...) I played a bronze match, then 2-3 silver and then hopped right into gold without much problems (playing with other good people, not useless pug scrubs) and when the full game launched I hopped right into a gold with a human infiltrator using a Mantis and playing with some Origin friends I had met during the demo.

I found it a lot more challenging but I think it will get better once the game is out. Most of my pugs were using the avenger but when I was grouped with others who were 10+ and had other weapons unlocked, I had the Talon which could one and two shot most things, it went smoothly, If you are just starting out I suggest doing Outlaws. they are by far the easiest. The Remnant aren't too bad. The Nullifier's attack cannot be blocked or hidden from but they are easy to take out if you flank them. The giant walking turrets have a mega shield that requires a rapid fire weapon and tech abilities to take down. My talon and biotics did nothing against it. The Khett have the most annoying/difficult enemy in the Floating energy ball guy. You can only damage him after you shoot off a sphere that rotates around him. Once that is down you only have a short window to damage him before he puts his energy encasement back up and you have to shoot off the sphere again. He shoots giant energy balls that travel across the map and can only be dodge, no hiding. He will sync kill you if you are too close. Any time exaction failed it was because of him. Thank you for the starting tips! I think we need a thread for that in prep to the 21st.

I dont think it's -that- hard, I think the starting equipment is just bad.
I've only played as a single character, I had the Turian Soldier right off the bat and it recieves a lot of passive weapon buffs in addition to turbo, so its kind of a crutch.
The avenger is just awful, just like in ME3. It doesnt start to be good until you've levelled it up to like level 5, had a few good mods thrown on it, and have some passive buffs too.
I cant comment on skill usage because I always shoot more than I use powers. and powers are arguably more effective if you know what you're doing

i Do believe that if you wanna start on the right foot: Just go along wiith the human engineer. The turret agros alot of mobs substracting ennemy fire off of you. You're beast to remove shields to ennemies, in an AOE fashon. Well around character.
Donnot forget that if you care about your power cooldown time: You can clean one weapon slot by pressing "V" on pc. As an ability focused character you only need one good pistol. Paybe an assault rifle if you feel like it.

Nah it's just not being used to having such sucky weapons and no gear. I've been playing all day, even a bit on silver and discounting a black widow I which I'm not using as i'm a level 14 Adept, my best gun is still a Katana III. I wouldn't be seen dead with that in a ME3 lobby. It seems artificially hard at the moment but it's all relative and it wont be long until your gear and weapons catch up with you you'll wonder what ever you found so difficult. Silver didn't really feel that much harder except for the add'l damage-sponge-y-ness which makes Kett and Remnant really challenging with noob gear as you get over-welmed very fast. Remnant on silver atm feels almost as hard as Plat Geth with a decent loadout to me. I was literally going to say the exact same thing. Thanks for saving me the trouble.

People usually just leave me there to bleed out tbh Nice. I can now look forward to dying on wave 1 on Bronze just like my first time playing ME3MP. Only your first time? :rage: Shhhh.. I can't really say anything about the enemy types, because I promised myself I would 't play the SP campaign untill the full game comes out. But here's the BUT. The Remnant...WTF? These fucking robots just won't let you live! Doesn't matter where I go, I'll run into their beams. I don't even want to imagine those mothers on Platinum or let alone Gold! I liked the robots more, lol. It seemed like every time it wasn't the robots, I was constantly surrounded by dog/dino things that would travel in packs, cloak, and grab me and hold me still while a Kett with a god damn machine gun would suddenly appear out of nowhere to lol at me and smack me down. I don't understand how the spawn points work in this game, it seemed like I was always in the middle of one. More I'd kill to try and clear a section out just to attempt to revive someone or just flip around 360 to try and find the objective, it seemed like the more would spawn in that area. Try to run away from that area by any means necessary and it felt like running a gauntlet. It was crazy. And that was just BRONZE.

Dont know what to say, but i think bronze is really easy, except for some players. Have some game fighting back wave 5, 6 with objektives and 7 alone or max with 2 people without any great problems, Human Vanguard lvl8 with Disciple I. We have to adapt to the new gamestyle, dont play it like ME3 except the enemy killing

Its getting easier, in my case as I level up and finally have a weapon that gives me a fighting chance. I think now that friends and randoms have a few games under our belts, higher level abilities, know where the ammo is and how the objectives work its making it easier but not easy... I guess in reflection the first few games were bound to be really tough on bronze, going to try silver tonight for the extra xp, will try gold when the release is out net week, for now saving consumables for higher levels except for medi as getting revived is still an issue even when the player is next to me, I think the animation needs to be worked on to revive a fellow teammate that is down.

It does get easier over time as you level up, I consistently clear bronze with half decent people with a level 18 Human Soldier. Only thing is at the moment, everyone is only playing bronze, I've cued for a while waiting on silver or Gold but no one comes in. Only so long I can wait as I don't want to waste my 10 hours, on my third trial now and will probably keep buying monthly ea passes for different accounts until MEA is released, just can't stop playing this great game. My best weapon is the M-8 Avenger level 7, I saved up for one of those 100000 Premium packs and did not get anything good as well lol

Yep, I have 3 accounts at the moment for x-box one. The first one I use to purchase all my games digitally so I paid by credit card for one month for ea access. I logged in with that one first then logged in with my main one and played for 10 hours. Next time I used my 3rd account to buy 1 month of ea access, logged in with that one first then switched to my main one. Last one I won 1 month free from watching Andromeda on twitch so I just used that one with my main account. All stats continue and carry over and my 10 hours start fresh each time, hope that makes sense. So when I do it again I'll need to make another account pay for 1 month on that one, log in with that account first then switch over to my main etc. Hope that makes sense.

You can also get a refund for ea access if you cancel before 30 days on xbox one which is nice. It's only like 7 dollars for a month so no big deal anyway really.

Hi Everyone, I want to share my thoughts again on this: Bronze is the new Gold? Answer: No. Bronze is still bronze.
I just went back and did an ME3 MP game with a Level 1 Engineer with an Avenger X, no consumables at all, against Collectors on bronze. That is as close to new as I could get with my pretty-much maxed manifest. Suffice to say that doing a bronze game solo with that gear is really hard. In fact, I failed it because Wave 6 was targets - with Scions - and I could not do enough damage in the time given, whilst staying alive, to kill the scions. So, it just seems really hard because your gear is terrible and weapons are weak. Pump a few hundred hours in to the MP and you'll be laughing at the enemies' smoking corpses in Gold soon enough.
However, there are two noticeable differences between ME3 and MEA multiplayer, outside all the jetpacking action: 1) Enemies spawn everywhere and attack you from all directions. The glorious 'Spawn Nuking' action of ME3 might not be a thing in MEA. 2) Enemies don't camp very much - they rush you and won't let up until they are right on top of you. Whereas in ME3 there were cases where you could herd the enemies into a kill zone and exploit the A.I.
The Mechanics are still new to most of us so working out how to exploit the A.I is still happening. But I did read here that Jet packing up and down off buildings, etc. causes the A.I to follow you, leaving them vulnerable to attack as you jump down and back up again.
So, if I am incorrect on anything, happy to hear other people's thoughts.
