MP will not last.

I know. Which is why ME3MP was the first and so far only online multiplayer I ever played. It's special to me. The team work is what I enjoyed most. And not needing to shoot much at all (I don't like shooters at all lol).

While I have not played the trial myself, I have seen various videos and read the impressions of players who did try it here on the forums. Now while I do have some legitimate concerns about the apparent state of the game (both from a single player and a multiplayer point) I don't personally feel that the MP community is doomed to die.

There is going to be a grind that's for sure (in fact I am dreading how long it can potentially take me to unlock the Salarian Operator) but there's a grind in practically every game out there; and from what I have seen and read, it's nowhere as near as bad as the grind in DAMP was. You may be stuck with crappy weapons and long cool down times at the start, but at least you aren't having your ability power tied to your weapon's stats, nor are you at some massive disadvantage to players with a similar level, but who have promoted multiple times.

I do hope that BioWare steps in quickly to rectify any serious problems and squash any bugs in a timely manner, but I remain confident that even if the game is going to have a rocky start the MP team will be more on point than they were with DAMP's launch. Primarily because ME:Andromeda, unlike Inquisition, is not being released towards the end of the calendar year, with Christmas and New Year's breaks interrupting dev maintenance. And secondly, because the devs have the debacle of how poorly DAMP was handled, as well as having fans with long memories hanging overhead to keep them honest. If there's anything BioWare does well its (over)compensating for fan criticisms, and there was a truckload of (deserved) criticism laid on them for their previous game's multiplayer.



In fact, one of my main long-term concerns is actually that BioWare takes the 'play it safe' route to heart too much and so limits their creativity moving forward with the MP DLC. As much as DAMP sucked donkey balls, the Virtuoso character; specifically his "song" mechanic; was a pleasant surprise. I want to see more unique gameplay mechanics and concepts like that. I am still holding out for the day I can finally load up into a match as my Rachni brood warrior, Elcor dreadnaught, Hanar medic, or some other crazy off-the-wall character kit.

I'll start playing and see how it goes. I actually liked grinding in ME3MP, thought it was a decent set-up, and would have continued if ME:A did not come in hard and fast all of a sudden.

With the DA:MP it was not the grind that made me not even try it, it's the clause that said you need to open some doors to get the loot while playing, rather then awards for all after the game and that you had to craft your gear etc.

So, DA:MP reward/gearing mechanism felt like a dungeon run, and I could see how that would detoriarate very quickly into a very unpleasant experience for me.

I also read that credits are awarded in ME:MP after each wave, so you always get a little bit.

So, makes it a touch easier on the psyche to lose.

DAIMP did not die off because of any player base divide at all. It was simply too buggy early on. And yes mea will be a grind fest, like DAIMP was and like ME3MP was, people must have short memories over the 600 hours or more they spent getting their manifests maxed in ME3mp

Meamp will succeed or fail due to 1) stability and 2) is it fun. If the matched are fun and reasonably stable people will play the hell out of it (see me3mp) If the matches are not fun then it will die out.

I just played for a couple of hours in MP,and I loved it.

Might be due to a potential lower player pool on PC, since PC gamers tend not to buy Origin Access.

I've had alot of lobbies with people from the East block, which causes all sorts of bad connection issues. Hopefully that gets resolved at release when the player pool expands. Otherwise I'll just have to find some regular people with real internetz instead of something made out of uncooked potatoes.

Dont forget invisible teammates, invisible banshees, the lone marauder who would get stuck on firebase dagger, the escort drone just falling through the map, the box of shame, volus shield boost weapon lock, playing more than 3 matches on ps3, collectors on ps3, ramp mechanics, missile glitching, and I am sure I am missing some stuff. 

I mean ME3mp was not a technical masterpiece, but it was damn fun. I personally wanted me3, just a little better, and I feel they delivered. 5 hours in, no complaints other than the host who was clearly half the world away with a less than stellar connection. 

Holy shit, I've got back in time by 5 years...

Funny people said ME3 multiplayer would not last yet, 5 years later people are still playing it.
