The same statement was made about 3MP, and while the game certainly needs work in the MP department, a LOT of work, it is not the trainwreck abortion that DAI was, not even close.

I have to agree here. I haven't played the game for myself, but yeah the game needs some work. It is NOTHING as bad as DA: I was. I bash DAMP a lot. It deserves every rant too, but you still have to respect the guys that worked on that game post release and what they did with it. Heartbreaker actually was awesome and they did a good job on that. Shit game and that game is irrelevant to me for all future events. It was never a good game, but if you look at what DAMP became and what all they did with what they had to work with ME:A might be one bad mother. + ME:A already has more maps than that failure did when support for it was cut off

I think it will be very successful. There are some changes that people will have to adapt to, like not really having good cover because they have things that pull you out of cover, but it was quite fun. Take your naysayer home.

I've played it and can very much say it needs work. Pretty much everything has been said though. Bad netcode, floaty feeling, not feeling the impact of attacks, sound problems, mic defaulting to sound detection, being unable to tell where things are going on due to bad hud and sound design, and several other things. However, it is fun. And I believe some of the problems will work out as we get used to it, but it still needs a lot of work. I'd say it's like 3/4 baked at this time. I think it will get better as they patch it but at this time it does need a lot of work.

Well, I haven't played the game yet. But I am having the feeling that the grind is going to be pretty heavy. When four random people (most of whom are likely to be experienced in shooter games) can barely get a 20 min game done on the lowest difficulty setting and even when they succeed all they get is 1/10 of the value of a Premium Pack, then we can tell the situation is quite dire. And if playing with pugs is just way too unproductive, people will simply not do it.

All the above. It's also less to do with the technical side of things and the more to do with the caliber of characters and their abilities, cover system, melee, grabs, display, and love of geth.

I was thinking the same thing when I was playing it, but now that I've spent some time thinking about it, I've changed my mind. After 10 hours, I got the hang of it. If I had 5 more hours to play, I'm pretty sure I'd have a character high enough to be extracting on gold regularly. The problem I saw was that it's really hard to take a low level character into a high level game and XP came very slowly, thus leaving me endlessly in silver and bronze.

If there's even a ounce of truth in the grindfest impressions, then MP is a failure too for me. I have no interest in this business practice whatsoever.
This whole game looks like an embarrassment. But I'll reserve final judgment until I've played some myself (on a borrowed copy so that I'm not wasting money if as bad as the videos suggest).

I have no idea where you got the idea this game looks like an embarrassment. All the few who are complaining loudly right now are the vocal few who just like to whine. In every activity, there are always haters and whiners. It simply makes them feel good like little kids crying. All I will say is I thoroughly enjoyed playing it. I had a few games that exposed bugs, but those of us who played m3 mp from the start are used to it.
I don't think this game is going to turn into a grind fest. With the exception of 1 or 2 games, every game I played had freelancing players. People weren't camping and grinding out kills. I will not grind for credits anymore. I did it in the early days of mp3 before I figured out how to play, and that experience was enough to last a lifetime. Andromeda might frustrate people who are caught up in the whole full manifest race, but for those who play for fun, it'll be fun. Anyone who is coming from me3 with a full or nearly full manifest and thinking they can have the same overpowering the enemy in a fun way experience was delusional from the start. You're not going to overwhelm the enemy with your Avenger. You're not going to get to missile spam enemies for points like so many scrubs.

I'll say this one last thing on this topic. Let me try and be clear about this. This game was EASY! Ok, there were more enemies per rounds. The bosses were tougher than in ME3. However, I extracted almost every game and had a ton of fun doing it. That last part is the most important part. It was hella fun.
This is what's going to happen. You're going to let the whiners talk you out of trying it early and then a month or two from now when you do jump in, you're going to find a massive mp community that's been at it for months with a huge head start. I didn't preorder this game before the trial. After the trial, I preordered immediately.
