Yeah this will probably get locked as well. But racism of any kind should be condemned and I'm glad to see him gone.

He was never really fully part of Bioware anyway. He was always a contractor and his contract expired a while ago with neither party having a desire to extend the contract.

ok, it is at least topical news, so let's see where this goes, though a lock is 'on standby' if things overheat. To the honest, all the thread locking was mostly to do with the fact that there were fights, that the threads rarely went anywhere and there was nothing new to say. 


Personally I find it unreasonable to tar the whole of BioWare for racism, particularly given their record supporting diversity.
Similarly, the 'alternative' fact that he single-handedly wrote and designed the game is foolish.

I'd feel a twinge of sympathy if he didn't seem to appear to actually invite the hate.

Personally, I think this is a good outcome for BioWare, 
they should be judged for the games, not any personal views of specific employees.

This was a really good video on the subject, filmed before it was known that Manveer had gone.

Yeah, he was one of the few Gameplay Designer. While important position, far from leadership position.

Also he had very little influence to do story and characters anyway. So his misguided political views, to say at the very least, couldn't have affected ME:A.

Manveer is a garden-variety internet troll.  He's not even a very clever troll.  Twitter just happens to provide an awesome technological platform for a relatively mediocre troll to thrive if he finds a sufficiently hypersensitive target audience.

I get why people allow themselves to be worked up into a froth over Bioware's long time employment of Manveer, under the assumption that this meant Bioware and/or EA were indifferent to his antics, or even approved.  "Why don't they fire him?"

But me?  I have no idea what its like for a corporate entity to fire someone in Quebec.  Most places in the world do not have true at-will employment, especially for large employers.  You have to be able to justify the reasons, drawn from a fairly narrow list, that you let an employee go in front of a judge or employment tribunal if you don't want to get socked with a nasty legal judgment. I assume Quebec is one of those place. I suspect EA/Bioware is the biggest victim of Manveer's trolling.  They may have even been his real target.
