White people in the Western Industrial World have never suffered oppression due to them being white.
Meanwhile with black people in the US, there are still people who are in their 60's to have lived through Jim Crow laws. Meanwhile those racists in power didn't disappeared and they're still trying to bring back the same laws with next generation.

So when someone is racist against white people, overwhelming majority of white people will just not give a damn and probably laugh it off. But black people lived through or live with family members who suffered through systemic racism against black people and are still suffering the consequences of the oppression to this day. It's not a laughing matter of them, hence why it's take far more seriously.
Also generally only white supremacists and neo-nazis raise a noise about how white people are oppressed( some celebrities talking shit against whites ain't oppression), so people do some serious distancing when racism against whites topic is brought up.

You can't take out historical context, especially when most people who lived through are still alive.

Twitter likely would have cut the offender off.  If they had not, someone would have complained to Quebec's Human Rights Commission and the offender would have been hauled in front of a tribunal.

Is there a double standard in here?  Yeah, sure.  But that's on Twitter and Canada.  So blame Canada.  And Twitter.  But seriously, Twitter is one of the worst ideas ever.  The internet (and the world) will be a better place when it goes the way of AOL, MyPage or (better yet) Gawker.  Anything that causes people to quit using Twitter is "good", even double standards!

It's 2017, as Ben Shapiro would say "Point me to an example of systemic racism and I'll help you fight it" But there is no systemic racism. There are individuals who are racist, and that's about it. Just because there was racism in the past done to blacks doesn't mean it gives us the right to treat whites the same way our ancestors were treated. racism is racism in 2017, I don't care what color you are. I am black and I am successful in this western industrial world. I have never came across this idiotic suggestion of systematic racism. I have had every opportunity offered to me in the same fashion as my white counterparts, and I worked for everything I have, as did my family. To say there is still oppression going on in america towards blacks is ludicrous.
