It's funny to think how years ago the biggest thing fans would lose sleep over, was whether or not they have enough romance choices, or if so and so was fuckable. Now it's the review scores Andromeda will get, the CC sucking ass, a buggy launch, character animations being pathetic and laughable, etc. Feels like whiplash how different things have become. I can't believe we're living in a time where there are serious and legitimate doubts that Andromeda will get good reviews. Wtf happened man.

That's actually an improvement what you describe.
I prefer fans that worry more about technical issues and overall quality than romance options.

Actually, I think romance options are a LARGE part of Bioware's overall quality of games. Those romances are part of the reason Bioware RPGs are actually closer to RPGs than most games. They give you more choices, lets you feel closer to both your own character and its LI and sometimes have impact on the game (though not as much as I'd like). I think worrying about romance options is a very logical thing for a Bioware fan. Otherwise I might as well have gone to play Skyrim

BSN users (and tumblr users...) place much more importance on romances than the typical player. Ask other forums what's wrong with DA2, DAI, ME3 or SWTOR and the majority of complaints won't be about romance at all.

Worried? Me? Not in the least. I already know what I think of the game and the early access just reinforced that. It's not like people who are bashing the game does it as a personal insult towards me. What they or reviewers or anyone thinks of the game doesn't concern me. Why should I be worried?

it's better that we are concerned about technical issues than romances, for the techincal issues can be in the whole game and rmances are just a tiny part of the whole game, and if the game itself is full of glitches, terrible animations no even syncronized with the mouth animations, npc's dissapearing, etc then the overall quality is bad

YOU KNOW BECAUSE WHEN I BUY A GAME, I'M SPENTING ALL MY MONEY TO PLAY FACIAL ANIMATIONS AND NOT THE GAME ITSELF...

BioWare should have had an official 'Bug Creation Department' On-topic, nothing I've seen that would justify bad reviews, but we'll know tomorrow.

The reason I don't care anymore is because Bioware started making ugly character romance options. The only one I am thinking about romancing is Suvi because of her accent.

That's actually an improvement what you describe. I prefer fans that worry more about technical issues and overall quality than romance options. What I'm saying is that the overall quality of Bioware games years ago was so good, that romance was the worst fans had to worry about. Urrrmmmm....I think that's a pretty rose-colored view. The actual gameplay in Pre-ME titles put out by Bioware titles has rarely been especially stellar. There have certainly been fewer glitches than stuff put out by Bethesda, but that's a pretty low bar. What distinguished Bioware was that the stories contained within the game were a lot better than the what was served up by just about every other PC game developer: A thin string of contrivances that justified shooting people or cutting them into bits with giant meat-cleavers. The plot, character development and world building were enough to make us care what happened next...even if the gameplay was kind of lame. Player character romance is an obvious topic to explore when telling stories. When Bioware was doing licensed content, they had to be very careful about how they treated the subject. I don't think its an accident that Romance became both a bigger deal and less heteronormative (I can't believe I actually managed to type that word. My 'American Dad' fingers kept rebelling) when they started developing their own IPs.

What I'm saying is that the overall quality of Bioware games years ago was so good, that romance was the worst fans had to worry about. Yeah, I'm sorry that's plainly not true. Every Bioware game has had issues people talked about other than romances (because every game in history has issues). People complained plenty about Jade Empire being a console action-focused game, Dragon Age Origins looking brown and dated while not being isometric, ME1 having stupid gameplay mechanics such as the torrent of loot and poor gunplay, ME2 being too dumbed down, DA2 being just overall unfinished, so on and so forth.

As others have said, there's still plenty of people losing sleep over the romance options. Back then MP folk say that SP will be a trainwreck and if they want their money worth they should buy for MP. Someone should totally do one of those videos about either the facial animations or the whole drama regarding Jaal's sexual orientation and M/M romance options .

Anyone who enjoys good animations for speaking with characters is screwed. Especially since they now have more speaking than ever. Sadly it seems they went for quantity rather than quality.

It was more important in the trilogy when we were playing as Shepard and the characters in the story would be the same that we could or couldn't romance previously.
