Low standards aside, I think it's due to how they're part of the general power fantasy that BW games provide.

I by and large don't take player initiated sex and romance in video games all that seriously, whether it's in BW games, Witcher, Persona or any others. They either have nothing to do with character or story development, poorly written or are too gamey.

I still "pursue" them but only in the interest of getting my character laid or in the case of "romances" like the one that shall not be named, to laugh to tears.

Could've been better, but I've seen worse. Way worse.

Well now I see that even if this whole game will be horrendous we will at least get meme fuel for at least a year! That's good thing in it's own right.

And? This is good cheese. I love the pilot duo, and that just makes me love them more.
