As for Ubisoft, pretty much all their games are so crap that you don't need reviews to know they will be medicore at best. I disagree. Ubisoft is one of the rare big studios that tries new things and succeeds. Latest example, For Honor. Christ I hope you're not serious I love For Honor, but its not succeeding right now, player base is falling rapidly, maps are taken out of rotation, constant disconnects, imbalanced heroes

Here's the thing to take into account: The only thing critics universally agree upon is the technical issues. Otherwise, they leap across the fence in one direction or the other with regards to every other aspect of the game. Also, it seems a lot of reviews depend on how much of an attachment you have to the OT, or how much you wanted Andromeda to mimic the OT. Overall, at this point it has honestly become a "decide for yourself" sort of game. I agree, you cant expect another OT, i think some reviewers have their nostalgia goggles on. Also im not sure how stable the review version was, maybe they werent patched in time so some bug issues might have been worse than they are now.

They managed to get a medieval fighting game on the top spot on sales charts (and get good reviews). It may have some growing pains but being a whole new thing i think one should give them some slack.

Polygon 7.5 - Review GamesRadar 7.0 - Review Destructoid 6.5 - Review GameSpot: 6.0 - Review
Haha...
O man... sorry, but I have to say this without any censorship.
Any rewiever who gives ME:A such low score is full of SHIT/cannot be trusted.
I had such a blast playing through the trial, the game went instant 9/10 for me after those 10 hrs. As a ME maniac I can even rate it as close to 9,5/10 in its current still unpatched stage.
Animations? those can be fixed post launch.
Gameplay and story? Those cannot be fixed or are very difficult to fix post launch.
Gameplay is fantastic, story is interesting - those 2 things are excellent outright - and they could have screwed them up (but they didn't!)
And foremost - the characters are great - the trademark of ME series. Vetra is amazing. Drack is badass I want to tag along with. Liam and Cora - bromance/sismance material. PeeBee - cute sex doll. Jaal - Alien Schwarzenegger.
And The Nexus is phenomenal.
You really feel like you are onboard a massive Citadel-like station among alien allies. Turians, Salarian, Asari - all feel like they are our sibling species, who float on the same boat with us into the unknown.
I don't regret a dime from my Super Deluxe Pre-Order and I'm glad I did support the devs - this is Mass Effect I so much wanted from the moment I finished ME1 for the first time. I feel sorry for those who cannot get immersed, because they are so capricious about graphics and animations not being better, than in Crysis 3... it's so infantile to me.

Ubisoft is one of the rare big studios that tries new things and succeeds. Latest example, For Honor. They make interesting, sometimes unconventinal stuff, like Far Cry with cavemen. I also like them for that. steamcharts.com/app/304390For Honor is going down and it's going down fast. P2P connection, rock-paper-scissors gameplay and nothing particularly standing out. They tried to make MOBA into an action game and pretty much failed on both fronts. People wanting action RPG will play Dark Souls which is much more complex and those wanting MOBA will keep playing MOBAs, because they're more complex as well. The game will keep casuals for a bit and they will leave like they leave every game after 1-2 months, while anyone looking for serious competitive game to invest time already realized or will realize soon that this game is not deep enough to provide that. Compare that to Siege which as I said, is the exception to Ubisoft rule: steamcharts.com/app/359550

Well we can see how the player reviews are soon, and if they differ from what the professionals have given. I see some inconsistency with the prof reviews tbh.
My copy comes in couple of days so im gonna go down for it and give an honest opinion what i tought afterwards.

The Average seems to be 6-8 which isn't all that bad, I think people are freaking out due to the solid 9s & 10s Breath of the Wild got which is a frankly rare score to see nowadays. In any event, loved the trial and I've loved plenty of gammes most reviewers hated and hated dozens which they loved(Destiny & Overwatch ), this will be no different

I'm so happy with most reviews! See Bioware this is what you get for hurting me so bad destroying the Dragon Age Franchise! I really hope they get shut down, go broken and never do games again. Then perhaps some of them find jobs in marvelous companies like Obsidian, people that make real RPG and not these shit thing bioware does. Unfortunately shit sells well and I'm 99% sure this game will make lots of money... but a girl can dream.

Compare that to Siege which as I said, is the exception to Ubisoft rule: steamcharts.com/app/359550Dark Souls is not even the same kind of game. In terms of actuall combat and PVP, For Honor is much more complex and satisfying. No wonder, it's the bread and butter of the game. And the only connection i see with MOBA might be the creeps but i don't play MOBAs. Screw serious competitive gaming, i'm here to have fun and For Honor offers fun and a pretty deep combat system. Siege also lost players but with time regained some of them, For Honor is still very young, who knows what will happen. Plus those are just Steam stats, AAA games are usually bigger on consoles anyway. Titanfall 2, who many consider one of the best shooters of the last few years, is also not faring well on Steam if i recall correctly. And anyway, not being a shooter, it has a much tougher standing. It's much more of a niche title. Again, kudos to Ubisoft for giving such a game a chance.

I never understood why consumers put so much stock in other's opinions.
I've never let a review or any type of score dictate if I would play a game or not.
I play the game and form my own opinions. I may end up loving it, hating it, or land somewhere in-between.
Am I the only one in this boat?

It seems to come down to an inexperienced team trying to do too much at once which makes me sad. If they had focused on making a more contained, linear game they likely would have had more time for polish and tweaking.
I'm sure I'll still enjoy the game but it's a bit discouraging to hear that it's probably not as great as I wanted it to be.

I think it's safe to say a lot is riding on Bioware's new IP at this point. I think the real lessons learned from Inquisition and new games will show in that game. That said, remember it was slated as an "action game" and not an RPG this time, but Flynn spilled the beans on Twitter when I was prying and basically revealed it will still have dialogue choices and all that.

Maybe not. Maybe. Who really knows? We're you there? That fateful day when Bioware Social Network went full crazy? It was Brilliant. Oh I was. I was in middle of that storm and rage. One of the worst days of my lives due to how angry I was and my anger was only fuelled by everyone else. My God was it not worth it for my mental health. it was like... Just watching the meltdown was fascinating, and the Mods trying in vain to look like they knew what they were doing.....

Heh, I read these reviews, and stuff like: "Many games have done far better facial animations" and it's apparently Witcher 3 that did it (really, many games?). I guess, if I did not that pinnacle of gaming perfection, the Witcher 3, I will be a happy pleb once I finally get to play Andromeda :)
