Doubt it. If the sales numbers pull through...and lets be honest, the amount of people who READ the reviews will pale in comparison to word of mouth, it'll continue. I remember a lot of people predicting...no wait, PROMISING that after the ending debacle of ME3, Bioware was done FOREVER. Uh, no...not even. If the game sells well enough, it'll continue. If it does OKAY...then the dev will reshuffle, people will step down, a new team will step in, get aggressive and move in a different direction. This franchise is a bit to big to just dump because of poor reviews. Movie franchises...Spider-man, for example, had two bad outings and still came back to try again. This AIN'T Ghostbusters (2016), it's Mass Effect. Besides, most of us haven't even PLAYED the game yet...if the gameplay holds, it'll survive...and if you are counting on IGN and the like to be the final say on a game...well, sure, go with that. We've seen franchises crash harder, and come back stronger. This is the starting gate...let's see how they do at the mid mark of the marathon. Never take Dutch serious LOL, it's been a while...I forget.

Bioware is dead, long live CDPR. Long live Larian. From what I've read from alpha testing Divinity Original Sin 2 is shaping to be REALLY good.

According to VG the preorder numbers for the game on Xbox and PS4 physical are also extremely low. Guess they finally killed it. piss off already

I think I'll wait for the last of the main three Italian sites to post the review before making the decision of buying it now or later on. The reviewer is generally someone that write reviews I can understand if I'll enjoy a game or not.

Played more Eos yesterday, and I did see some issues, for sure, but I don't feel that early access was enough to be sure. We will see. That said, why they keep trying to do open world is beyond me, band-wagon jumping. Concentrate on the story, give the exploration feel like ME 1 if you must, and stop trying to be TW3 or 2 or whatever.
Frankly, while TW3 was a masterpiece, I want games where I get to at least partially create my protagonist. Making it my Shepard, or my Hawke makes me enjoy the game a lot more.
It just looks like Bioware Montreal wasn't up to the job. Next time, if they want to move it from Edmonton, they should just hire Obsidian. It might have technical issues up the wazoo, but at least it will have a good story.

> Score 7(0) out of 10(0) > mediocre Pick one. Mediocre for the series and for Bioware games. Good for gaming in general. But not the Very Good/Great/Excellent I'm sure EA wanted. They have potential to fix and add to the game to make it one of the first two of that list. I hope they don't just drop the game/series but instead get right to work. ME:A is way too big of of a project for EA to drop it and way too big of a investment for Bioware to give up on it. Bioware will get back to work once devs are back from vacations and get back to fixing game's issues.

I'm new to these reviews, so I have to ask. I see most of negatives are about technical issues, do the reviewers edit their reviews after a couple of patches have been released or stay like that? For example - if somebody didn't have the time and decides to play the game after a month/two and the game has been patched a lot since release, but see all these negative reviews, it will probably back him off the game. So, do they edit them, write new, or just leave it like that? Generally no. Some outlets may go back and publish new articles specifically focused on revisiting the technical aspects of the game if the developers make enough noise about having fixed them, but for the most part, what you see now will not change.

Yep 7-8 as I felt when I played and when I watched further footage (with upper ranges 8-9, lower skeptical views like Gamespot 6-7). This means that if they can fix up the game and not let it languish, and do quality and improved DLC, I'll consider it a 8-9 by the end and be happy. But this is ONLY because I'm a patient one to give it a chance. Objectively, the ratings so far are NOT GOOD and Bioware needs to take a damn hard look at itself. This is no GOTY. It isn't even going to be a fantastic game when I play. But I will HOPE that things shape up and it becomes a game near and dear to me in up to a years' time or so from now. Absolutely. I've read a few of the reviews...I keep going back to IGN (they posted the final Cora romance scene...if you see their Ryder, you can instantly tell what they thought of the game...they were trolling) because Bioware was using THEM to promote their title, and IGN was quick to strike once the embargo was up. Really, in the end, this comes down to the guys at the top...odd phrasing, but true. Aaron Flynn first. He made the calls. They announced the game too early, let the hype build to the point of unrealistic expectations, teased but REFUSED to reveal an significant information until near release, and did little to ease the fears of the fans. They were insanely nonchalant about their release. Sure, THEY were excited, but we had no idea why. 'Oh, you're going to LOVE this...but we can't tell you what that is...you'll just have to...OH THAT WAS AMAZING...wish you could have seen it, sorry, just wait, trust us...SSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNN.' Honestly, this game looks a bit rushed. Unpolished...once I get my hands on it tomorrow, I'll know more, but the thing is...had this game come out LAST YEAR...it might have been a point higher. Had the game NOT been announced TWO YEARS (or more) in advance, I think it'd be an 8.5 average...but this was NEVER, EVER going to score a 9. Reviewers and part of the fanbase are NEVER going to let the ending of ME3 go. In a time when people are being unfriended, and blocked because of differences in political opinions, we have people threatening rape and murder upon game developers and participants due to perceived slights that have gone WAY beyond the personal. So, I also hope this is an ice cold shower for Bioware before EA punts them and takes the franchise for themselves. They CAN do better...they SHOULD do better. Lets see if they have the will to do so. This is Mass Effects 'DAII Moment'. Fingers crossed. Also, they REALLY should stop trying to ape the Witcher. They are what they are...TRYING to be the other won't work. Just be Mass Effect. While they're at it, they can also try to stop being Halo too, judging from what's in MEA. That said, I'm still also really liking a lot of material in MEA personally, even when I thought I wouldn't .

Honestly, just like Iron Fist, I thought there were some fair criticisms. I thought there were some fair issues. I thought there was room for improvement.
But I also thought, reading many of these reviews, some people are too negative. Some pick apart an article for an agenda. And some people just want to be harsh.
I played the 10 hour trial. I marathoned through Iron Fist. And just like my favorite shirt, yeah, it has a few holes in it, but damn it, it matches me eyes, and I love it.
I've liked everything I've seen, in the videos on YouTube, on my own Xbox One. It has its issues, but what doesn't. The good outweighs the bad, and while it may or may not 'reach the highs' of the original trilogy, I am going to throw out any comparison to a game that had five years to cement itself as my favorite. Bring it on.

So it seems like we have Inquisition again where u have four responses to everything but non of them really make a difference. This to me is the worst news, at least Shepard had two completely different paths personality wise. I feel bad for thinking that wasn't enough.

Concentrate on the story, give the exploration feel like ME 1 if you must, and stop trying to be TW3 or 2 or whatever. I can't agree with this sentiment enough. I'd rather have a strong and focused narrative over endless collectibles and map markers to tick off my chore list. I enjoyed Witcher 3 overall, but one of the reasons it took me multiple attempts to finish the game was because there were just toooo many markers on the map. And somehow always with worse loot than what I already had. I also grew exhausted of Dragon Age Inquisition's giant open worlds. Exploring some of the larger maps felt more arduous than fun. Yes, the scenery was great, but more often than not, the content felt like busywork (ocularum & shards, I'm looking at you).

All fine. As concepts, and in many possibilities of practice. But like, imagine if they DIDN'T take note of the reception of zones in DAI? Oh my god, it'd be horrid. Cut the stupid filler and copypaste out. Cut it out. The game doesn't need it. Ever. And MEA has good stuff. Really. IMO. However, it also does have a feeling of being pulled at various ends, possibly due to influences of several writer priorities. Bioware should take that downside of MEA and utilize it as the basis for them to build something of better quality for the future.

Ugh I don't like seeing these scores. For a series that has consistently gotten 9s in the past this is unsettling. Thing is I had a blast during the trial and I anticipate having a blast when I play it through. I just hope these reviews don't doom the franchise. Damn haters have been trying to tear it down for years. Kind of wished it stayed with the Edmonton team. No disrespect to the Montreal team but the Edmonton team had experience and success with the franchise. Doubt the technical problems would have been this glaring with the Edmonton team.

Haters are all over the ****ing place. YouTube, Google, everywhere. It's getting worse by the day. You would believe the amount of dislikes the romance scenes have. The game will be released tomorrow, and the hatred, from these terrible, toxic people, have clouded over my excitement for this game for the past several days. I can't take it anymore. If the game has problems, fine. No game is perfect. But take it WAY too seriously. They are too harsh. They are spreading like locusts. I know what you're gonna say. "It's the internet, and you shouldn't take it seriously." You're right. It is the internet, because they are the very irrational trash most of the internet is made out of. UGH!
I..I don't even think I'm excited anymore. It's like....all the comments are taking all the excitement away from me in place of a bad mood. I'm angry, and sad at the same time. I'm angry towards THEM, and I'm sad because they won't stop. How can I enjoy a game when 100's or 1000's of ***holes reign supreme, with all their bullshit comments all over my mind. It's like their sole purpose were to be the buzzkills of the internet, because they won't stand somebody being excited, claiming that person is just a "stupid fanboy." You know what it's like witnesses something you enjoy so much, being thrashed by so many angry people, and there's nothing you can do about it? That's me right now. What the hell is wrong with people? What did Mass Effect do to deserve this? And people are unfairly comparing it to games like the new Zelda game, and Horizon: Zero Dawn, as if they put such high standard before playing Andromeda, because of those games. Putting such a high standard could lead to disappointment, so they screw themselves over. Why would I compare Andromeda to games that have absolutely nothing to do with Mass Effect? Graphics? Maybe, but with every little detail to the point where it becomes unnecessary and irrelevant? The only standards I have for this game, come off of playing the Mass Effect Trilogy.

You know what it's like witnesses something you enjoy so much, being thrashed by so many angry people, and there's nothing you can do about it? Ι really feel you man. i really do. But if the game was not at this mess which it admitably is , they would have nothing to say. With that said, play the game if you want. all these idiots are hurting the medium they love.

I am kinda surprised by my own feelings this morning. Despite the astoundingly negative reviews, I am more optimistic about the game than I've been in a long time. Perhaps all this shitstrom had a liberating effect on me now that I don't have to anxiously await the "final word".
For one, I don't give a f*ck about animations. I am a rather casual gamer who plays only a few games each year (and replays all sorts of olden goldies). Technical things are very low on my list of priorities. Writing may very well be on the weaker side, but then again I always thought BioWare's "writing accomplishments" have been exaggerated. None of their games are exactly literary masterpieces and their characters, who I enjoy immensely, regularly tend to be a bit broad and archetypal.
After some patching, I expect Andromeda to be a very immersive and fun exploration game with a lot of interesting storytelling, some nice characters, and exciting combat system. Which is fine by me... more than fine. Honestly, I can't shake the feeling that at least part of the negativity has to do with the general fatigue regarding the "BioWare formula". Quite a few people comment on how "outdated" their approach is. I dunno, maybe they're right, but then again I'm an old school guy who doesn't mind these things.
I guess I'll see soon enough (read: in a few months after I've bought a PC that can actually run this damn thing.)

It is the internet, because they are the very irrational trash most of the internet is made out of.
Computers are rationals. Users are not.
