There are a few instances of the subtitles not matching what is actually spoken. Usually it's a word missing or added by the VA. In this case though, it gives the sentence a whole new meaning. Considering codex entries mention angara before you ever leave Eos the first time, I'm not surprised it was missed. Makes me glad I didn't bother reading most of them in my first game. You also find an angaran shuttle before going to Aya if you explore all the available planets

After seeing the scene at least a dozen times, I just noticed a writing error in the locker room before Habitat 7. SAM tells you to grab a sidearm by saying, " The Pathfinder will require a sidearm." Our protagonist is not yet the Pathfinder. I'd never noticed this flub, previously. The subtitles say "The Pathfinder is now requiring sidearms." which I think is a legit way to say that someone else is requiring you to do something, but I could be wrong. Edited: It was also what I heard. Yeah, I thought about this before making that post. It just seems awkward. It would hardly be the most awkwardly worded line in the game, though. I like your understanding better, regardless. It definitely makes much better sense than the alternative.

I generally use subtitles until I'm familiar enough with a game that I don't feel like I'll miss something important if I don't use them. Especially in MEA where the sound from people standing behind you is so awful that you can barely tell they're talking at all. It also helps to distinguish who is saying what when multiple people are present. For MEA, it is otherwise impossible to tell when SAM is speaking on the private channel rather than to everyone. Kind of an oversight, if you ask me, but maybe if I turn off subtitles I'll be able to hear a different tone or something?

Yeah in the Nomad in particular and especially with Sara it was often hard to tell if it was her speaking or a female companion other than Vetra!!!!

That makes sense. I play on PS4 Pro with a surround sound system. I hadn't considered all of the directional sound issues. That stuff has really added to my experience, over the years. Locating enemies by sound, whether from movement or bullet paths, is second nature for me.
MEA has incredible sound. I do notice my sound system finally beginning to show some age. MEA's output was, at times, uneven. I believe it's because the newer tech isn't 100% compatible with my older equipment. I tried to buy a very high-end UHD wireless surround sound system, recently; but the seller backed out like a chump.

Cora clearly says to Alec, "We equipped weapons as requested," or something very similar. I suspect that I had only just noticed the imaginary error because I'd only misinterpreted it the twelfth time I saw it. I guess my mind does wander during that scene, at this point.

And with no quick save, it's not like you can easily go back and replay it. Still annoyed about no quick save, btw, even after 5 PTs. I totally abused quick save playing Original Sin, just because I could.

Stay in the Nomad and just drive around the area to explode them. Then drive away. Mission complete. Tried that but the mines seemed to be re-spawning. I literally shot some then drove around and around and around hitting mines even where I had exploded them before, until the Nomad ran out of health and blew up!!!! Went back to an earlier save tried scanning and blowing them up and died 3 times from exposure. Will go back to an even earlier save and see if the mission resets I the missions on Voeld but trying for 100%!!!!!!

You don't have to explode them all....just enough to get away clean. That's why I shouldn't play when I am tired, the funny thing is I have done it 5 times before by just driving away and it was just that I saw it said clear the minefield and I took it as clear all the mines. What I forgot is I have never cleared them all before and have never had the quest outstanding before!!!!!!!! Thanks melbella I am off now to drive out of the mostly cleared mine field

I never use subtitles. They ruin my immersion. I read the subtitles instead of watching the characters. I always use the subtitles mainly because of the way conversation sometimes initiates in MEA with the camera facing away from the NPC. Then you are left facing away or the other character is behind you and that often means you can't hear what the character is saying. I had so many conversations with walls, computer screens, someone's back etc...... Yeaah, and I also get the sound bug where the subtitle shows waay before the converstaion starts, so I know when to slow down the Nomad or my pace while on foot to not go on a trigger area so that I don't interrupt the banter. Plus, English is not my native language. As much as I feel confident playing without subtitles on, I guess I kinda got used to it and it feels now part of what Mass Effect is to me I never use subtitles. They ruin my immersion. I read the subtitles instead of watching the characters. Yeah, I suffer from the "Where is the character that is speaking" syndrome. I usually go out to look for them and find another conversation and it scrambles all the subtitles. Look at Nexus Cultural Exchange. It's a mess, as much as I appreciate ambient dialogue. You have at least five different conversations if you pass through everyone. I don't need to hear that someone is deciding if he's shipping out to Eos or some other world again and again everytime I come aboard the station. They could mute if they have nothing more to say or stop talking after our character goes to another area. It's frustating to me to go to the Cultural Exchange and the subtitles are showing something of strawberries from another conversation that is happening IDK where while they are talking (Almost not hearing sound) about some differences between Angara and Milky Way Species. As much as I love this game, I have to say that this was done poorly. Hoped to see patched, but hope next ME or Bioware Title will keep in mind those things. We can't have five or more dialogues playing at the same time! And about SAM, I do hear a different tone. It's somewhat more deep and quiet, while general-speaking SAM has that relaxed and not so synthetic voice. But I get your point. It really is hard to notice that in your first playthroughs, even with no subtitle on.

Did activate the third monolith and the vault on Havarl for the first time post-game and there is a nicely different dialogue with Taavos where my team and I are trying to make sense of his words in light of the Jaardan discovery.
Pleasantly surprised after the MEA team forgot to change the dialogue for some other scenes like the Architect on Eos where Ryder always says "what is this" even though he knows those kind of Remnants from other worlds (when you fought them there before).

What was the new dialogue? I don't have it word for word, but when Taavos says something about Zorai discovering/observing "the watchers", the team starts to speculate about the Jardaan watching their creation, to guide/uplift them and that Zorai was so special, because she was somewhat immune against the side-effects from using Remnant tech. Hm, I think I have to replay that part at some point again to get all the little information. Anyway, I just thought it was nice, that the team used what it discovered in Khi Tasira to make more sense of Taavos words, but it doesn't reveal anything major.

So I have discovered this before but can't remember posting it. On EOS there is a spot near the lake and near where that hidden cache is on top of the rock that you have to jump the Nomad on to get. There is a spot on EOS that just spawns those Taurg (SP?) creatures. Kill two and two more appear, I think I got to about 5 minutes before I felt bad and stopped

I totally abused quick save playing Original Sin, just because I could. I was on Voeld yesterday trying to do the mission where you have to clear the minefield around a remnant structure which I just cannot get to complete and several times reflexly hit F5 I just drive straight out of that minefield. Even on Insanity, it's not a big deal. If your shields are getting depleted, just sit still for a moment as they recharge.

I always run and dash from the base of the remnant monolith. I grab it on my way to the vault, generally after leaving Site 2/Resilience. I'm pretty clinical in the way I optimize map-coverage/travel in games like this. I don't like needlessly crossing the same area multiple times.
