I've done 1 and 1/2 playthroughs on insanity NG+, each importing around Level 85 (so already at Level 10 gear). I respec'd and crafted the gear I wanted to use before making a save that I want to import so that started me pretty much OP both times. My 1/2 finished one is my female (imported from a male - nice that it allows you to change gender on a import)... and I'm always slower roleplaying females than males (just not very confident doing it). Right now she's at Level 111 on Eladaan, so I'll check for a alcohol with her when I get to that part of Eladaan. I am finding the Level 0 forward insanity playthrough to be much more challenging combat-wise. The second monolith on Eos was just a brutal fight that took me at least 7 tries before I got past it. The observers just rip through shields and the squad just dies right off the bat. I finally backed off and did some "bug-clearing" to sell the guts to buy a cobra rpg and got by the fight that way. I expect it will get easier after I get some of the basic skills leveled a bit and a bit of combat fitness (i.e. health) to work with. Still, it's going to be much more interesting because the squad won't have their Rank 6 tricks until I get through their LMs. Also, I'm playing as an Operative and the Viper I just takes too long to reload to get through that particular fight. I've been watching one guy doing an Level 0 on insanity as a Vanguard. He also mentioned that fight as being a real tough one, but I do think the Vanguard (with charge) has it much easier overall. On my first NG+ insanity playthrough, I never had any issue until I encountered the progenitor in the asteroid vault. Man, that was such a difficult battle! I actually couldn't get past it after trying over a dozen times, and then thought to myself: "why am I stocking up on cobras if I neevr use them?"
So I just cobra'd the shit out of that mad bot. It took me like 10 or so cobras, wtf?
But anyway, first and only time I needed a cobra on insanity. There's something off-balance with that fight...
Huh, I did that same battle as well today and just went straight to the Cobra's . Agree that battle is out of balance and there are also just random instances in even minor battles when the same thing happens

I love this fight! That thing is crazy powerful. It keeps spawning Assemblers, which keep spawning Breachers. Those Breachers can push you out of cover, so you have to manage them. Once you actually get the Progenitor's shields down, it just melts. Dropping those shields, though, takes work. This is the only fight in the entire game in which I really have to work to stay alive. My squaddies generally spend the entire battle dirt-napping, so it's almost a solo fight. I love it!

I'm finding there's a ton of stuff on Tempest, Nexus and even Eos that I just haven't thought to try scanning in the past... and I guess I just never walked close enough to initiate the signals to scan. Learning lots of new stuff this time around. I'm doing a playthrough on insanity starting with a PC at Level 0... and I'm playing offline so no strike teams this time around either. I'm going to need all those research points, so I'm really making an effort to scan stuff. The additional codex entries and information are a real bonus. Wow @upupaway95 that's impressive, good luck!!!!! I am doing my first insanity run at the moment but as an NG+ game and whilst there have s few "hard" encounters it honestly doesn't feel much more difficult than hardcore, especially after some great tips from Element Zero on gear and gun builds including using the Fusion Mod of Adrenaline which I believe you posted a video about. I had never found it before so thanks I am using a Valkyrie AR with the Autofire Augmentation and three Kinetic Coils and it is the most destructive weapon I have used, its only issue is it has a small clip. Good luck on your new PT. The FMoA is so good. It changes gameplay on a fundamental level. Only a build using a loadout composed entirely of power-cell powers would have any reason to use a different FM. It's not perfect architect fights, but is otherwise golden. Against architects, you can unequivocally it or just deal with the minor penalty. I generally don't bother to unequip it. I've not played in over a week, since my neighborhood became a surprise construction zone. Jackhammers really interfere with gaming. Now, I'm out of town, so I'll not play for at least another week. Before the interruption, I'd been trying new choices. I talked about my feelings on siding with Reyes and the Collective (nausea and dread). I didn't mention that I'd simply skipped Sloane's party. I missed the extra conversation with Sloane, and the rooftop moment with Reyes. That said, skipping the party really felt better, more believable. That party is really a gamist, fun-but-silly moment. Skipping it because, "Reyes, I'm way too busy for that", made for a better experience, in my mind. I'll likely skip it more times than not, moving forward.

I managed to take the Progenitor down in my NG+ Insanity playthrough on the second try without any Cobra assistance. I stationed one squad mate in cover on each end of his zone and used tactical cloak to bolt between them, reviving them and getting in a few cloaked shots each run. Because both squad mates were fully max'd on skills, they managed to handle the vast majority of the smaller bots that things spews out. It took quite awhile to whittle him down, but I managed it. It helped that I had the Inferno SR (infinite ammo) and I had it leveled up to a 9-shot clip between overheats... pretty easy to just take 8 shots in a burst and avoid the overheat. This run, I am planning to take it on after I get my squad loyal (so they should at least be max'd out). It might even be an easier fight this go because the Progenitor should not be at his max level this time round, but my squad will be at theres and I should have max'd at least the skill set I intend to use and my combat fitness (health). Another way to handle him is to camp in cover in the side tunnel... he doesn't tend to path into that area. On my first playthrough at Normal difficulty, he didn't even damage me at all and my squad stayed up the whole time.

In terms of durability, the tech passives are even more important than Combat Fitness. Particularly if you're using Tactical Cloak, they are near to being "invincibility mode". I generally spec the active skills I intend to use, and then immediately head into maxing all passives. I really enjoy the design choices and implementation of character building in MEA. Combined with crafting, it's so much fun for me.

I did finally get through to the Invictor without using any of the cobras I bought... so I scanned him and then promptly blew off 3 just for the heck of it rather than messing with that guy and because I felt that I had killed all those bugs for nothing. I'll probably regret it later and can almost hear Cora chastising me "Just remember, we need that ammo."

I never remember to use any consumables other than the occasional incendiary ammo vs Ascendants. That's pretty funny.

That's not part of that particular dialogue... she actually says that to Liam if you encourage him to "stay angry" when he's shooting Kett just after the battle where you find Cora on Habitat 7. Liam responds at that point with "I'll strangle them if I have to." (Probably one of Liam's best moments, IMO.)

Too bad they can't revive me
Yeah I couldn't even remember him on my first normal run. Probably a pushover then.
Urh... I don't know how he played for you, but to me the problem was when his shield were down. He totally goes berserk! Anyway, If I ever do another playthrough, I might try again for the non-cobra way.

So discovered today that if you talk to Commander Do Xeel on Voeld after recruiting the Angara from Voeld, Kadara and Elaaden she acknowledges it and you can find at least the Kadara recruit and the Elaaden recruit in the main base and interact with them. Couldn't find the Voeld sniper though.
You can also talk to the Dr. and he'll make a comment about the Exaltatiomn if you have done that quest.

I don't usually bring Jaal on Elaaden or Kadara (all he does is complain) so I haven't recruited those two for quite a while.

I don't either, I just leave that till the end and then swap Jaal in and do the recruitment bit. You can even go back to the recruits with Jaal later even if you have already spoken to them.

I've done that with the one on Elaaden since he's easy to find. Not so much the one on Kadara - I have a hard enough time finding stuff marked on the map!

I guess this counts as a little thing: in ME2 Zaeed has an anecdote about taking down a turian frigate called the Verakan. I knew I recognized the name from somewhere, turns out the archon's flagship has the same name. Small universe.

I went back to talk to the recruit on Kadara with Jaal on the second go the first time. Now, I usually plunk in Jaal in first thing on Kadara and make a bee line to the location for the recruitment thing... then I turn the car around because of his complaining, head back to the main base and change him out for someone else. I then "punish" him by leaving him on the ship for the rest of the Kadara missions (which I usually do in pretty much 1 go). I have a circuit mapped on their and works pretty well... clearing most things in a single jaunt into each area and just leaving the Reyes stuff to clean up on a second pass.

I don't either, I just leave that till the end and then swap Jaal in and do the recruitment bit. You can even go back to the recruits with Jaal later even if you have already spoken to them. Yeah Jaal really annoys me with his comments on Kadara. I am the same I just go right from the first forward station and do that part of the map then FT back and go the other way and do the missions based on their location on the map rather than doing one mission at a time. An yeah I just leave as much of the politics stuff till the end. On Voeld I always have him in the squad so the recruitment thing isn't an issue and Elaaden he gets swapped out immediately after recruiting the Angara at The Paradise.

Kudos to you. My squadmates actually lived longer than me (I had drack and vetra).
I mentioned this in another thread, but you may never come across it. I dropped the Progenitor in less than 20 seconds with my Hesh (Autofire, Seeking Plasma, VHS) using a Soldier (Invasion/Tactical Cloak/Turbocharge) Favorite. The thing just melted under that insane DPS. This was on Insanity, of course, and the weapon was Tier X. dazk and melbella, there is a forward station just over the hill from the resistance recruit on Kadara. (I can’t recall her name.) It’s easy to just swap in Jaal, visit her little bunker, and then swap out Jaal. I made an effort to try new part compositions this last PT. I was rewarded with some humorous banter I’d never before experienced.

That's what I like about playing on normal it doesn't matter who I combine in the squad so you can experience lots of different combinations and get great banter. One of the best parts of the game

The galley on Tempest has noodles and preserved juice! I guess someone other than Grunt likes them. Here's a super-zoom of the juice label. Can anyone who's less dyslexic (or has a better graphics card) tell what it says?

That's what I like about playing on normal it doesn't matter who I combine in the squad so you can experience lots of different combinations and get great banter. One of the best parts of the game During my second-most recent PT, it occurred to me that I really didn't need to be optimizing my party composition, given how easy I find the game to be. I started mixing it up more, and have enjoyed the results. I'll likely give MEA a long break (by my standards), but not because it's no longer fun. Any game loses pop after too many consecutive PTs. I really only play ME games this way, to be honest. (I used to play Uncharted a lot, as well.) I've played HZD quite a bit since February, but not as much as MEA in terms of PTs or hours. I'm glad HZD is getting new content. I hope it becomes a great, ongoing series.

Here's a super-zoom of the juice label. Can anyone who's less dyslexic (or has a better graphics card) tell what it says? Free from impurities and contaminants. Harvested from fresh fruit grown under the strictest hydroponic conditions. Nutrients and vitamins added for your enjoyment. Vetra's room also has an opened can of baked beans (why Vetra, why), bunch of canned fish, salarian canned food with carrot like picture and some cereal.

Thanks to cmoe I just discovered there is a mod that fixes The fight a Fever Quest to cure the sick guy in the refuge on Kadara wher you fix there antenna and get a heat lamp. I had already completed up to going to the two stoned guys place (SOS) but went back and there was now an interact icon on some of the plants. Was able to pick it (and you get an option to eat a leaf and get a funny cut-scene) and was also able to then go back to the refuge (an icon appears on the map) and complete the quest by giving it to the Turian guy. Here is the link to the MOD: www.nexusmods.com/masseffectandromeda/mods/541/?
