Tim Smith @torlack Getting really annoyed with this notion that Frostbite doesn't make a good RPG engine clone of Dragon Age:Origins. Fixed it for him.

They only say "weak year" because it is a cheap way to discreeit Inquisition without actually having to discuss it on any meaningful level. To be fair, I wonder what would have happened if The Witcher 3 did end being released that year. I think it was supposed to come out in whatever year DAI won GOTY and then it got delayed. Then the Witcher 3 would have got a lot of flack because of all it's poorly made animations and lack of polish. They didn't delay a finished game.

True, though I do have to say that wandering into Hafter's Woods at level 6 has provided me with some of my most memorable Hinterlands moments.

True, though I do have to say that wandering into Hafter's Woods at level 6 has provided me with some of my most memorable Hinterlands moments. I remember being chased by bears through half of the Hinterlands, all alone (my party's been decimated) with a sliver of health left for 20 minutes, just because I refused to reload and lose all the loot Must've been a great sight to see for the locals - the fabled Inquisitor running and screaming, chased by a bunch of bears that refused to stop respawning.

I was in Hafter's Woods for about a half-hour last night and must have killed eight regular bears. They're a plague. I don't even feel bad about killing them; their current population levels are unsustainable.

Maker's Breath, you've uncovered Solas' plan to destroy the world! Nobody will see it coming since bears and wolves are natural enemies.

Also - the joke might have extended only to the easter egg (besides, how would a head survive 1000 years in intact state?), because they're the most notable scaly race Bioware has, but everything else about the Scaled Ones is real and entirely unrelated to it. Certainly not the first time they're mentioned in the lore, or possibly even depicted. Let's assume the artist who painted that mural was going by secondhand accounts of other people who had enountered krogan. Based on a general description (walks upright, has a large hump on its back, bent legs, scales like a dragon), is it possible that the artist interpreted this ... ... as this? As for the ritual part, it's my understanding that krogan rituals have never been depicted outside of that "coming of age" rite.

I'm fairly sure they don't use magic, they don't breathe fire and attacking sneakily and from the shadows is not a krogan way.

Or did the dwarf see the krogan using a incendiary device - or hell, even a match - to light the blood and then blow on it to stoke the flames, and then interpret that as "producing fire from its palm and mouth?"
As for attacking from the shadows, the whole Deep Roads are dark.

In other words: you're way overthinking this We already saw krogan heads used as amusing easter eggs and nothing more, while this whole Forgotten War thing seems pretty serious. Also - when I say "attacked from shadows" I also meant it figuratively. Krogans are not known for acting sneakily and stealthily, like Scaled Ones from the tale.

Well, that's the thing. People might believe that there's this super-secret race of lizard men running around the Deep Roads, and the whole thing might just be a big joke about lost krogan in the Deep Roads. I'm trying to prepare people for that, and encourage them to invest their energy in pondering the greater mysteries of Thedas.

None other has elaborate journal entries strewn all over the DLC. Either way, we're going to wait and see. The Scaled Ones may never be a big part of the game, given that the journal entries date to before or short after the fall of Arlathan, so they may as well be extinct or something. We do know however that scaly people can exist in DA universe, since many of those who drink too much dragon blood grow scales and generally become more dragon-like - just like fire-breathing Scaled Ones.
