We have different understandings of football my friend Soccer is probably more likely. Always thought Football was a little complex. I unintentionally get angry when people call it soccer, but true it is easier

Blackwall and Varric have a banter for plotting how to have Josephine get them a tourney invite. Could have easily been a side quest. I'm still disappointed that there wasn't an option about the tourney when talking to Blackwall as a non-mage Trevelyan. Instead, I had to ask about it like a boob. I headcanon that my guy has actually been in one.
Yeah, that's annoying. I think in my last game I avoided that option so I didn't sound like an idiot. Male noble warrior from the Free Marches has to ask what is the Grand Tourney? Really?

DAI could have done it as well, considering we were a true free marcher that had access to all of South Fereldan Thedas Blackwall and Varric have a banter for plotting how to have Josephine get them a tourney invite. Could have easily been a side quest. I never knew that. Though that's not surprising since I never really have them in my party at all let alone together. Leave Josephine alone you two, you give her enough headaches as it is.

I'm still disappointed DA2 never got a Grand Tourney DLC actually. DAI could have done it as well, considering we were a true free marcher that had access to all of South Fereldan Thedas I don't think it'd have worked - fabled Herald Of Andraste fighting in a tourney? Besides, people start complaining when Inquisitor 'has time to bed his/her allies' (in other words: romances someone); they'd be complaining even more if Inky went out of their way to compete in Grand Tourney, which in grand scheme of things wouldn't really bring them much of anything.

Inky kind of did that in the Hakkon dlc. They didn't. It wasn't a tourney - it was friendly sparring with warriors of Stone-Bear hold in order to win their favor. It also didn't specifically require for Inquisitor to travel far, nor Inquisitor traveled to Frostback Basin specifically to participate in it.

We'll probably never get to go to the Grand Tourney, sadly. If only DLCs centred around festivals were viable. (To be fair, that fits in right in with the vibe of Final Fantasy XII, and I don't think this sort of thing is really Bioware's strength.)

Who says Inky has to participate? It could have been a publicity thing - make an appearance, rally the Marchers, draft the winner to fight vs Cory (assuming they aren't already). Keep an eye out for shifly looking dudes winning when they shouldn't. You know, standard stuff.
As for the bedding thing, the only one complaining about that is the bartender, and that's only if you ask him and that dialogue line is in queue. He doesn't always say it.

Keep an eye out for shifly looking dudes winning when they shouldn't. You know, standard stuff. ... What would be the point then? And how it'd look like? From your description it seems like it'd likely require as much writing or planning as some of quest from crit path. Too much effort for something that would be an entirely optional content. Besides - the Inquisitor doesn't really need to rally the Marchers; the more popular the Inquisition is, the more people flock to Inquisition to serve against Corypheus. We send people, spies and diplomats to recruit people, especially from more remote areas. We can even stop a war between Tevinter and Nevarra through war table mission, so any recruitment on Tourney can happen through our agents. Heck... with so much going on and so many people involved with Inquisition or just dead after civil war, mage-templar conflict and Corypheus meddling it's a wonder whether the Tourney even happened. It only happens when we romance someone and Cabot relies only what's murmured around the tavern, so it reflects what people think about it.

Which is weird if you do one of the romances that doesn't involve sex. Those are rumors. People don't necessarily have to know details But it's a less prude society, so they may assume that romance automatically comes with sexy times.

You can just NOT ask "Who's Mythal" It's an option for the player, as not everyone has played DAO/DA2, or read every codex entry about the elves. And if we're already talking about such "obvious" questions. I started playing ESO and literally every single Tribunal (living gods of the Dunmer) priest can be asked "Who is Vivec/Almalexia/Sotha Sil" which is especially funny when you (like me) play a Dunmer who just had a in-person meeting with Almalexia. :lmfao: Yes, I'm aware it's a MMO, but it just shows that these kind of questions are made for the player, who might not know who said god is. :smiles:

Morrigan tells you she suspects they are looking for the Temple of Mythal, and your inky automatically asks, "which is?" The answer to which would be blatantly obvious to a Dalish elf, I would think.

While I agree that auto-dialogue is bad because of examples like this, I'm with Gilli in that the optional question is there for players who don't know, aren't familiar with DA lore, are playing a Dalish elf for the first time, or perhaps have DAI as their first game. I've always thought that the player reaction to the Mythal dialogue was overblown and excessive. In addition, many seem to focus on the "Who is Mythal?" dialogue option in their rants, rather than the auto-dialogue, as if the very existence of an optional dialogue is offensive. As I said in my previous post, I thought it was silly that my Trevelyan Inquisitor doesn't have the option to say he's familiar with the Grand Tourney, but I don't consider it this huge, glaring error or lambast the devs for it. Not saying you do that, but I've seen it many times from other players. In general, I prefer as little auto-dialogue as possible.

I just watched the (english) video I took of that scene and in the german subs it says "Das heisst?" which you can translate to "That means?" so imo it's more a question of "What has that Temple to do with Corypheus?" and less with "Who's Mythal?" (I played through DAI in german three times before I switched to english, I never understood that question as being about "Who's Mythal?")

(I played through DAI in german three times before I switched to english, I never understood that question as being about "Who's Mythal?") It's really a reference to both. Morrigan: ... I believe these ruins to be the Temple of Mythal. Inquisitor: Which is? Morrigan: A place of worship out of elven legend. So the question is specifically asking about the temple, BUT that is predicated on also not knowing who Mythal is. If the dialogue played as "I believe these ruins to be the Temple of Andraste," someone who knows who Andraste is, and who also knows that temples generally are places of worship, could extrapolate that it is a place of worship dedicated to Andraste. So it is with Mythal as well. Even if a Dalish elf didn't know about the existence of the temple itself, knowing who Mythal is would automatically allow the Dalish to understand what the Temple of Mythal is, so there would be no need to ask. As I said in my previous post, the problem with that specific dialogue is that it is auto-dialogue, so the player has no choice but to ask. Morrigan's tone of talking to the Inquisitor like they're a moron doesn't help matters.

This recent Witcher 10th anniversary thing has reminded me that we might get DA4 for Dragon Age's 10th anniversary (2019)! I hope the devs do something special/memorable for it!

I was sad to let my 2018 release date dreams go, and am now using "2019" when I talk about it's potential release :/ 2020 is tooooooo far away. I suppose if they gave me a book every 6 months to keep it fresh.

As far as I know, it's just a video, right? Not like a collection or anything? Hopefully there is something for ME1, because it'll be 10 yrs on Nov 20th.
