It's the Hero of Ferelden issue all over again. Probably has to do with the fact that unlike Hawke who seems like a really good playable supporting character, The Warden and Inquisitor are our characters, mostly made from scratch. So many of us get attached.

Not to mention the Inquisitor's quest is not complete. Their quest is to close the Breach and stop those responsible. Solas is responsible for everything yet he hasn't been stopped yet.

Well, the difference between Inquisitor and HoF is that HoF was never really suggested, in main story or DLC, to be active in the next chapter. Trespasser however sets it up so that's Inquisitor that is going to Tevinter to find new people and - in their own words - save the world... again. The Dragon Age Keep also makes it pretty clear (in case end of Trespasser didn't ) that it's not just Inquisition, but Inquisitor that will be either stopping or redeeming Solas. It's their new mission.
How that's going to look like remains to be seen. But since they lack 3 distinct tones of Hawke, so far I can't think of any other way to do Inky justice in terms of individual characterization than to offer at least partial control over them. Maybe in a way it was done in TW3 in case of Ciri or switching Ryder twins in MEA for a short time. I suppose there's no way to know until we see what they've done.

“The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.”
Yoh, using literally figuratively started being a thing (or I became aware that it was a thing) when I was in grade school and I assumed it was being used that way because obviously literally is not figuratively. It's ironic like, for emphasis. I actually remember being upset at like, 10 because that's not what literally means and then I just went with it because irony. And that's how I've been using it since, imagine my upset when my issue with it of more than a decade back suddenly makes a popular resurgence. OFC I also made the conscious decision to start using the word 'dude' ironically and it just sort of sneaked into my regular lexicon but aaannnyyywaaaay...
It's time to admit to yourself that you're a trendsetter, Fredward. You seem to be the last to realize it.
Inquisitor: Is that innuendo? Sera: No, it's at the front!
Johan Andersson @repi Fun comparison by @ca1ne of amount of source code in Linux kernel vs @frostbiteengine. Think this qualifies as a metric ton of code in both
of course not really a meaningful comparison (beyond source control / file system) as are two completely different things, but fun
The surprising thing is not how large Frostbite is, but rather how bloated Linux is. Though if the count indiscriminately included all the source that goes into making /bin, /lib, /usr/lib and /usr/bin, it's less bloated than it looks.

Callimachus Cyrene @kallimachus Probably what I am most curious about in a potential excursion to Tevinter in a possible future DA game is to see what Art would look like in a magic-saturated society and culture. By which I mean a completely non-utilitarian work of magic, which is meant to express both emotions (probably pain above all) and aesthetic principles whether it is to complement other art media (literature, architecture, painting, music etc.), or, more importantly, as an artistic medium in its own right. What would something like that look, sound, or feel like?
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes These are interesting questions. I hope we get to answer them someday!

I hope they're able to do things like the magical laser show we saw in Magekiller. Since it was just a single panel, it's difficult to know what sort of a stage production that was, whether it was a serious play, or just something that was pure entertainment. Even so, I appreciated its inclusion. I think it will be important to show that magic is used for everything there, including mundane, everyday things. Tevinter is semi-tropical in some regions, right? I totally want there to be ice cream made with cold magic. Why bother shipping a block of ice when you can just use magic?

Minrathous should be all sorts of fun due to all the practical applications of magic. We DO see some of the crumbling buildings being propped up by magic and Dorian does admit that they have flying cows
Although I assume that a lot stuff related to magic may be limited to upper class, because most of Tevinter society is non-magical, just like rest of Thedas is - I suppose the biggest difference would be that magic not only will be something people don't react with panic towards, but celebrate or are in awe of it.

Lol! I was under the impression that was a result of some specific incident.

Not necessarily. There are mages of all classes and skill levels, since being born a mage isn't related to class. Let's say some soporati businessman's kid turns out to be a mage. The kid goes to the Circle and learns to control and use their magic. They are elevated, but only to a degree. I doubt the family would give up its livelihood just because one member turns out to be a mage. In that way, the general public can have access to the benefits that magic provides, like frost-enchanted fans, lighting, and other such things.
We can even compare it to the business empires of today. I doubt the founders of Walmart, the Walton family, actually shop there, but they sell to the masses and make their billions in profit. So it would be with mage families and their own wealth, whether that is making wine, raising horses, or providing other goods and services. The public baths may make use of magic for heating.
The difference is that magic is woven into the fabric of everyone's life, even if some lowly soporati doesn't directly experience benefits from it. That is what they should show with Tevinter. Their use of magic needs to be shown as wholly different from anything we've experienced before in three games.
