Very happy with my purchase, I love Mass Effect and even though ME:A has some glaring flaws, the positives significantly outweigh the negatives.
Animations and the juvenile dialogue are annoying but the gunplay, powers and general game world are fantastic. The feeling I had when I set up my first outpost was awesome, really felt like I was making an impact in the game and wasn't just being carried along by an arbitrary narrative.

I think the no manual save bit is exacerbated by the fact that they don't tell you when they do save. So, if you want (or need) to bail in a no-save zone, you've no idea how much progress you'll lose. In any case, I fully expect that a patch for that will be forthcoming in pretty short order. OT: Like every other game I've purchased and enjoyed, MEA is not perfect. Still an enjoyable romp thus far. Well, in my case - I had a prolonged encounter on the iceplanet, where I kept dying for various reasons after doing pretty well the first 30 ketts or so. Death meant doing all those battles again and hoping for another outcome. That was pretty annoying. Had I been able to save, I would have done so after every spawn, so death would matter less. Last auto save is just before a bridge..? Pretty sure this is what I just took 3 hours to get through on hardcore

Hell yes. I've played 12 hours and I'm enjoying the absolute hell out of it. And the combat mechanics, damn, they nailed those. I'm not all that happy with character design and the cut scene animations but that in no way makes the game an less enjoyable.

Okay...I prepared myself for the worse but even with the limited CC, I did pretty good things (still needs more options).
However, the story, Andromeda...I'm heavily invested in making the initiative work. Very invested in the characters too lol Liam is like a little brother
ONE THING though, I wish there were more...alien races introduced.

I don't know. See, I used to get this magical feeling of satisfaction and happiness 2 hours into playing a new game but recently I've found that that "spark" is overrated and I don't really feel it anymore.
Didn't feel it for Dragon Age Inquisition (which became one of my favorite games of all time) Didn't feel it for The Last of Us (which became one of my favorite games of all time) Didn't feel it for Fallout 4 (which I ended up loving)
It's way too early to tell for me. I remember getting stuck in the Hinterlands, declaring the Inquisition a bust and ignoring the game for a whole month before coming back and going on nightly 10 hour binges as the Herald of Andraste. Andromeda has all the ingredients to do the same for me

25hours in and I couldn't be happier. There are a few problems but they are hugely outweighed by the rest of the game - In all honesty after playing a bit I don't mind the facial animations. Most are top notch. Love the characters and story and honestly can't understand the negative feedback. I'll put it down to personal taste because I personally think the characters are terrific. They are giving me a lot of laughs (in a good way)
Hope they eventually change the few things I hate with a passion.. if they don't it doesn't matter.

Yes, I'm happy that I bought it, even at full price. The negativity is hugely overblown. The game has big issues, many that won't be fixed. But even in it's current state it is worth the buy. That is reassuring man. We in Europe can't play it until 23rd. But I heard there are no heart breaking decision you are forced to make in Fenris/Virmire or Rannoch. But as far as I am concern there would never be anothef mass effect 1 (storywise)

First hour done, and I am loving it so far. The only problem I had was that an SP game gotta have Save on demand function.

Very much so. About 10 hours in so far. Just finished up main questline on Eos and I am loving it so far. Facial animations are about the only issue I have, and I did have one game crash so far, but it autosaved right before, so it didn't matter much at all.

Having a blast with this game. It hits some many points on a mass effect Fans's wish list and the great mechanics far outweigh the few missteps.
All opinion but I feel the reviews were way too overly critical

About 25 hours in and having a blast. No glitches on my PC too, so I am lucky. The animations are what they are but don't bother me. Will have fun for months to come as per usual with Bioware, so no regrets what so ever.

No. I'm tolerant of it. I knew I was going to get it, and I did it, and it actually wasn't my money (a gift). I'm happy with parts of MEA but not the whole package. First time ever . There's time to turn it around. Hopefully next year I can do a new awesome playthrough (more or less; some things are unfixable but patches/updates/changes/DLC can make a lot happen) and finally promote the game to my boyfriend so he can buy a copy ('complete edition'?). For now he can stay with Zelda etc.

Eh i'm just like reviews, kinda mild on it. Not really happy but do not think about pursuing refund. It's definitely 7/10 game...

Happy with the game? No, but it's fun anough. Happy with my purchase? Sure, I didn't buy any of the other AAA games this first quarter season, so. *shrugs* Same tbh. It's not terrible. I definitely expected more, but I wouldn't call it a throw away. I've had enough fun with the odd 25 hours I've played.

It's very odd. The Combat is awesome, the characters and story line are average. Kind of the exact opposite of what you've come to expect in an ME title.

Yep. I assumed the level of negativity and hysteria was just typical BSN melodramatic nonsense, and after finally getting my copy and seeing for myself that assumption appears to be completely accurate. Haven't gotten into the MP yet, but I intend to soon.

Haven't really played much (just now met Peebee), but I am really disappointed so far. The damn Mass effect archives site refusing to give me my soundtrack (second Mass Effect in a row they refused to give me the soundtrack for despite buying the version that includes it by the way) is just the icing on the cake.
I HATE digital stuff because of shit like this. If the soundtrack was a CD (or heck, at least an itunes code), I would not be without the thing, but nope they had to lock stuff behind multiple walls.

I've done about 8 hours so far. I am really happy with it! Tons of ME1 vibes and yeah I mean ME 1! The writing is about on par with the cheese of the original trilogy. I haven't found a Kaidan or an Ash yet thankfully as those were the ones I'd groan about having to talk to. Yeah I am having fun with the story and the characters. I like that this is more of an exploration, survey kind of thing than military thing cos I think that's where the ME 1 feels are coming in. Cons: They've got to patch. I've got some freezes in cutscenes and stuttering frames every so often especially at the beginning of chapters or on the Tempest or Nexus. It's inconsistent but it happens just enough to be noticeable. The Nomad has been as infuriating as the Mako at times. I hate having to drive things. Also I can't seem to get the wardrobe on the Tempest to accept my color texture changes. Stuck with the same white outfit all the time! Can't wait to play tomorrow! There's a button you need to press after choosing your colour, even tho the screen doesn't actually tell you to. I think it's space on PC and A/X on controllers.

Characters have been great so far. Nomad is fun, course I enjoyed the Mako so. I may be crazy. Just exploring everywhere. Coloring your wardrobe. On PC use space bar after picking each color. If you don't it won't keep the change to color. Only thing that is annoying me to put it nicely. Is the issue with mouse cursor. Seems bugged at times. Showing up and hanging in middle of screen during cut scenes. Even better dialogue wheel appears and before I can do a thing it auto picks a response. Which means load a save and hope it doesn't do that again. All seems to be mouse cursor issue. Opening menu and moving cursor to bottom stops it from hanging on screen when it shouldn't be seen.

Last auto save is just before a bridge..? Pretty sure this is what I just took 3 hours to get through on hardcore Bingo. UGH!!! I didn't take an ideal squad composition and didn't notice the turret on the roof...also hardcore, wasted about 2 hours on it. Went back, took Drack and Jaal, and killed the stupid turret the first chance I got. Bam! Through in one go. That was actually the most difficult part of the whole mission to me, the most problematic encounter I've ever faced so far even.
