Just broke up a protest in Hydroponics. This encounter annoys me aesthetically. The concept is cool, but it’s executed ridiculously. How the hell did Reese make the cut? He’s the human with the orange hair, blue facial tattoo and matching clothes. Whoever designed the more ridiculous looking characters should be barred from character design/finishing in the future. They don’t help with immersion.
That one only annoys me because it's the same people protesting no matter which outpost option you pick! They are just complaining to complain. Like the "angry woman" on the ship - now I just ignore her because neither reply option does anything useful. I want to tell her to stop whining and get out there and help instead of just bitching about other people actually doing stuff.
One of my gripes with the game is the A/B options. Why can't I just once intimidate someone? Why can't I bury the recording of Nylken Rensus, letting him off with an "I get it, but do better"? The options are always very limited, and often feel like two versions of the same thing.

Took a break to finish a program on Hulu with my wife. Now it's time to call Evfra and then return to Havarl's surface and complete its quests. I wish Havarl could've been larger with a lot less backtracking, but I still like it. It's the planet on which I usually fully buy into my PT. I wasn't wishy-washy thus time; but when I am, Havarl often cures me of it.
This is my fourth PT on this save. I can tell because I collected my fourth FMoA. Leveling up is rewarding, but I think I enjoy simply playing at full strength the most. Leveling isn't a "must have" feature in my RPGs. I'm glad MEA doesn't have leveled enemies. Those suck. I much prefer scaling threats, as MEA has, or just difficult, unleveled threats. Apparently, there's a massive mod just released for TW3 that makes everything unleveled. It dramatically redesigns combat and "makes it more Kb&M-friendly". CDPR themselves also just released HDR support for TW3 on PS4Pro. Pretty amazing that they're still supporting it years later.

Aaaaghhh Angry Woman makes me so angry, hell I can punch the reporter in MET why can't I punch her!!!!! I have the last couple of times and this time just ignored her completely!!!!! I don't talk to her, since Ryder comes back with nonsensical replies. She's clearly suffering that cryo rage, and needs Lexi's treatment. I also don't bother being called a little bitch on Kadara. I think the latter is funny, but Ryder then backs down like a little bitch. At least comment on them smartmouthing a command fire team. I walk away feeling like a little bitch. I just completed Havarl 100%. I'll hit Voeld after a pit stop on the Nexus. I have a memory to see and hops to deliver. I just read Tann's reply to learning Havarl was too alive. "WHAT?! Are you kidding me?" He's pretty entertaining, even via email. I'd like to see the current leadership in 5 years. If Addison isn't dirty and if Tann continues to develop humility, over time they might become leadership we could like. From atop Mithrava, one can see how huge the Remnant city must've been pre-Scourge. I just lokkedcbefore leaving, and towers reach up into the distance. It almost looks like a ruined Manhattan. Edit: I want to customize a second pistol for this character and have a pistolera. The thing is, most pistols suck pretty hard. I'd be stupid to holster my Hornet for any other pistol. I could maybe mod an Ushior into a shotgun of sorts. (I can't recall if it has an intrinsic scope. If so, nvm.) The thing is, a real shotgun is always better. There's always a better gun for the job than a pistol, excepting the Hornet. I might build a burst-fire Sidewinder for fun. Maybe I'll have it shoot sticky grenades. That would be interesting. It would be more effective to build a Hornet for that, but... meh. Pistols suck. DAI's conversation cam was less immersive than past conversation cams for many, but I'm not sure that I like MEA's attempted solution. That fixed, over-the-right-shoulder perspective is something I could generally achieve/approximate in DAI if I desired. If MEA had dai's cam, I could examine my protagonist and NPCs more thoroughly as they talk. I could admire my sweet gear, check out character models, etc... If the days of cinematic conversations are gone, it's entirely understandable. Word counts are through the roof in these last two games. I'd not particularly care to see MEA's camera reappear, though. It's too limiting.

I am having lots of fun responding casual whenever it is an option Yeah the camera can be quite annoying, I like it when you can move the camera around whilst you are talking.

Drowsy, meandering musings led me to the “Poor Man’s Dhan” and “The Kirrahe”. They might suck in play, but they’re pistols, so I’m going to try them.
“Poor Man’s Dhan” Talon (Seeking Plasma, Burst-Fire?, Dbl Mod Ext?) This won’t approach a Dhan or Hesh in reality, but it will approximate the effect in pistol form. I used the Talon about a year ago, before fire-mode augmentations caught my fancy and before RoF augmentations were even in the game. I seem to recall it being oversized even when holstered. That might mess with my aesthetic.
“The Kirrahe” Scorpion (Burst-fire, something, something) Who hasn’t, from time to time, wanted to quickly shoot three sticky grenades, Kirrahe-style? As Garrus famously said, “Why don’t I have one of those?” I honestly think this gun could have potential with a couple of different augmentations, but those would remove its iconic sticky grenade feature. It certainly wouldn’t be a Kirrahe. I bet this one stays huge on the hip, too. It has that look. :/
If I’m determined, for appearances only, to carry more pistols, I can go a few other directions. A fairly basic Sidewinder could be fun, maybe with Burst-fire for variety. A Hurricane (Electrical Conduit) would be crazy. It’s not as good as my Hornet by a wide margin, but at least it would look cool.
Oh, well. Feeling sleepy again, thankfully. I’m out!

Wow! I just created a welcome pistol conundrum. While none are brokenly OP like most of my custom guns, I created 4 enjoyable pistols. I’ll list them below.
Carnifex (burst-fire) Adding burst-fire to this classic creates a bad little beast. It fires 3 shot bursts, and I was dropping Kett Chosen with a single burst to the head. (Insanity, no mods on gun). On top of being powerful, accurate and efficient, the Carnifex looks badass.
Sidewinder (burst-fire) Much like the Carnifex, this gun becomes very powerful simply by altering the firing mode. It fires very fast bursts and is very accurate. I had a similar experience with this one as I had with the Carnifex, in terms of killing Kett. I could see playing a full PT with this as a primary weapon for a caster. (Of course, that would require bioconverter or VHS to solve the ammo limit.) EDIT: I tried VHS on this, expecting the worst. It’s actually good. It cools very quickly, maybe because of its modest shot-count? I’m sure cooldown could become an issue in a heavy firefight, but this is a sidearm. Active skills should be your primary offense. The cooldown was fine in taking down Kett outposts in Eos.
Talon (burst-fire, seeking plasma) This was a lot of fun. It’s not a Dhan or Hesh, but it’s not bad. It looks and sounds like a shotgun in pistol form, just as intended. Seeking Plasma gives it much more accuracy at medium range.
Scorpio (burst-fire) This is definitely the weakest of the lot, but still fun. It is largekybunaltered from the vanilla model, just firing three grenades per trigger pull. The damage is meh, but the visuals are cool.
The downside to the pistolero is that you’ll have a pistol on each ass cheek. It looks really stupid. They should’ve mounted them a bit higher and to the outside, perhaps. I can see carrying a pistol on one cheek, but three pistols is too much for one loadout. That means I’ll have to decide which one I like best and whether it’s worth building. My main gun is brokenly OP against all foes in the game, so this is purely for fun rather than effect. I’m leaning toward the Sidewinder and Carnifex. Anything requiring the pseudo-shotgun Talon is best melted by my Hornet-FABE. The Sidewinder and Carnifex both look great and shoot well, so it’s a pretty close call.
This was fun. If anyone is looking for a good, non-SMG pistol, maybe these might tickle your fancy. There’s room for further or different customization, since I kept these really basic.
EDIT: After a face-off, Carnifex vs Sidewinder, I chose the Sidewinder. It’s just so damn cool-looking and I enjoy those fast bursts.

Although I did use the Pathfinder burst fire AR my first PT. Funny you talking about the aesthetic of the weapons, one reason I carry two Valkyrie's is that it looks good on your back

So yesterday Sara headed to Havarl. Apparently she "is a fish with gem in her mouth" because she headed straight off and rescued the scientists, then saved the Turians who'd ended up there in the escape pods. She met Avitus Rix a former Spectre and then went out and found salvage for them. Whilst doing this she had some encounters with the Roekaar, Remnant bots and the wildlife and she was careful not to get any "fungal slime" on herself!!!!! Went back and chatted to Kieran and Torvar then headed off to see the Sages on top of Mithrava to try and find the location of the missing third monolith. They suggested that Sara find an ancient heairloom of a pre-scourge Angaran called Zorai and then present it to a Roekaar called Taavos who was a descendant which would hopefully help him remember the third monoliths location. So that's what will be up next, plus finding some edible plants, scanning some rocks and finding some Remnant Data Cores, oh and shooting lots of stuff!!!! Some pic's: I love The Remnant Chasm:

Bit of Ollie. Took him there Roakar to activate the final monolith and had a really bad time in the trenches. Two Eirochs D: . Not okay. Set them on fire and made them burn, then activated the monolith. Swooped by to save some Turians but ignored the shuttle remains lady, since the blue demons are out in force and if I don't need to face them, I wont. Turned on the Vault and returned to Camp, then back to the Tempest. A quick stop at the Nexus to mind meld with Scotty boy. Truth and a lie. Or well "lie" the place is amazing, just not the way you imagined. Stopped her session hovering above Voeld, not in the mood for saving the Moshae today.
So loaded up a bit of Kayla, mostly just to see her face. Got her to the large open room in the Eos Vault before calling it a day.
Ended the session with a bit of Elias. Conqured the Kett Base with relative ease but some close calls here and there. Went back to Techixx and headed to the Ice City. Stopped by the ruined town for some maps, met a glory seeker and let Elias bask in the idea that he's handsome. Which he is, in a way, but I totally get why the angara snorted. Or grunted I guess. Stopped the session at the entrance to the ice caves, next to a cozy heater. Next session with him will be wrapping that bit up and maybe the vault. Since he found a little Cobra all wrapped up for the local destroyer.

May have to buy some burst shot mods I usually sell them straight away as I am not usually a fan. Although I did use the Pathfinder burst fire AR my first PT. Funny you talking about the aesthetic of the weapons, one reason I carry two Valkyrie's is that it looks good on your back The burst-fire makes a huge difference. It adds +20% stability and +50% RoF. It's all about making the rights swaps, plusses for minuses. Pistols are great for burst-fire, since it adds stability and puts more rounds downfield. It's pretty badass on the Dhan, too; but so is autofire. Nice, my next play through I was planning on a sidewinder run. Nice to see its viable. Yeah, it's pretty solid. VHS would be great for a caster. I think it will also work fine for a Soldier-type with Turbocharge replenishing and boosting the clip. I'm definitely going to try a true pistol-using caster (no SMGs) soon. (Maybe an Engineer or Sentinel.) The Sidewinder and Carnifex were a lot of fun. I made a lot of progress on Voeld today. Initially, I stalled. I just wasn't thrilled to be on Voeld. I shut it down early last night, only made it to Hjara before saving and stopping again. Once I got into a few skirmishes, though, I started enjoying it. Voeld has great Kett skirmishes. I am benefiting from the bug that eliminates Level-1 Cold Hazards. I'm experiencing a different bug for the first time. The "Medical Cache" quest is in my log and on my map, but the locations are empty and devoid of interaction. At least it's a small quest, I guess. I kind of hope it reappears when I load next time, but I don't expect it will. Everything pre-Outpost is completed, excepting the Monoliths and Vaults (maximizing that temp bug!). I'm on my way to the Kett C&C next session. I feel like the game truly opens up after the Aya/Havarl/Voeld chapter.

Did you perhaps forget to get the medical supplies (loot near the counter) after talking with the doctor? I wish I could get that Level 1 Hazard bug to trigger again... lately, all my visits to Voeld have experienced the opposite problem... the Life Support bar has been draining like I'm in something worse than a Level 2 Hazard. I'm practically unable to run from the Tempest to the first heat lamp without dying.

I was drowsy and tuning out when I first arrived, as I described. I bet this is exactly what happened. I'm glad it's no bug. I'm also glad no angara were bleeding out at the locations because of my carelessness. I'll fast travel to grab them, and then travel back to my current location (Techiix, if I recall correctly). I'm reasonably near two of the locations. I hate that environmental hazards scale with difficulty and seemingly with level. I play exclusively on Insanity. Level-2 hazards can kill you in less than a minute on Insanity. I paid careful attention and "confirmed" (via observation, so not really) that the threat was less deadly on ~Level 25 Insanity vs Level 132 Insanity. At high levels, I just jump it down to nor,al from the time I leave the Resistance Base until I reach the ice. Otherwise, just visiting the compromised cache can leave me close to death and in no condition for the potential fight in that first trench. It's ridiculous, too, given how moderate the listed temps really are. I'll always assume that Voeld was supposed to work like Elaaden, improving with the Vault activation. They tried to fix it and ended up with the inverse. It's sad that we want a bug to happen. Better to just ditch the hazards altogether. Elaaden's is laughable with unprotected scavs loitering in the sun as the Nomad and crew boil.

Will try and remember to build the Carnifex and Sidewinder today and check them out. I actually picked up a VHS yesterday, I can't remember the last time I got one. So crafted the Carnifex with a BF and BC and yeah its pretty amazing, damn loud too!!!!!! Used it for about 30 minutes on Havarl and then swapped back to The Valkrie I have had that happen with the Medical Cache mission and it eveentually sorted itself out. I have also stuffed it up myself by not getting all the medical supplies from the base on Voeld, that is not doing the repeat "E" on them till its empty.

You should try the Sidewinder too, at some point. It's not loud, as it's not the hand-canon the Carnifex is. It's definitely more of the Wild West gunslinger weapon. It looks cool, has good-looking muzzle flash, and shoots a satisfying burst with the BF augmentation. The Carnifex manages to feel very powerful. The Sidewinder is similar in performance, but instead feels smooth. Those sound effects and RoF differences really contribute to the varying impressions made by weapons. That said, they'll never compete with an Autofire Valkyrie. Only the Hornet, Dhan and Hesh can really do that. The Puranha can be damn good, too, for its niche. The Beam Emitter augmentation is insane. It trivializes everything to the point that I'm thinking of using something else soon. It's fun to kill heavies in seconds (Fiends, Destroyers, Architects), but it also gets stale having so powerful a weapon. That's part of what got me looking at more pistols. The Beam Emitter was bugged garbage at release. If you haven't tried it since it was fixed (Patch 1.08 May 2017), you should try it for kicks. It makes that autofire Valkyrie even better. Maybe too good. My Hornet has a RoF of 1400+; high damage; great clip size; and the BE's perfect stability and accuracy.

I've done two Level 132 Insanity playthroughs back to back and the Life Support on Voeld really did appear to be draining faster with this second run than with the first. I know when the game first game out, there were complaints about enemies continuing to level up after 132 to literally insance levels and they corrected that. However, I've been wondering if the hazards don't have the same problem. At any rate, I did get buy everything by using a ton of a Backup Life Support consumables that I had stocked up through not having to use them on previous runs and, of course, beelining for the heat lamps whenever I could. I'm soon finished this run and I am kind of curious to import him yet again to see if the life support issue gets even worse... or maybe I'll trigger the "good" bug and not have to worry about it until I do the vault.

I have had that happen with the Medical Cache mission and it eveentually sorted itself out. I have also stuffed it up myself by not getting all the medical supplies from the base on Voeld, that is not doing the repeat "E" on them till its empty.
I've never selected the supply box more than once and I have always been able to deliver all 3 caches. The angaran woman isn't always interactable, but I haven't had any issues with the boxes (other than forgetting to do them!)

The first time I did it I only interacted with the boxes once and I definitely couldn't do the mission until I went back to interact with the boxes again. I accidentally another time just didn't do it until the "E" stopped showing and again couldn't complete the mission until I went back to interact with the supplies again. The angaran woman is usually inactive because there is a wraith or other enemy on top of the ice surrounding the buildings in my experience. I either just drive up there first to find any enemies and then drop the Nomad down into the site or I just climb up and find the critter or Kett and kill it, she is then available to talk to. Maybe its just glitched, like several other things on Voeld!!!!! As an example I think I posted last time I played that the mission to rescue the Angaran torturing the Kett in the blown up building was actually outside the building when I drove past so when I went in I couldn't do the mission!!!!

I can vouch for the Voeld weather hazard sometime being ridiculous. It happened to me once when you first drive down from the main base and help some Angara in a fight. Got out of the Nomad fired several shots and within 30 seconds I was almost dead and had to jump back in The Nomad. That continued for the rest of the time I played that session!!!!!! I have also had the exact opposite happen where I was experiencing no weather hazard at all!!!!

I’m bummed about my MEA PT. I’ve encountered my game-ruining bug again. Sometimes after the Voeld Architect fight, the “Destroy the Conduits on the Head” update stays on the screen permanently. No matter how far back I go, it always happens again once the Architect is defeated. Whatever causes it is present from much earlier in the game than I’ve ever been able to find: This bug is the reason I’ve only completed the game 11 times out of 16 PTs. This is the fifth time I’ve encountered the bug.
I was having fun with this Sara, too. I’ll see if she exported okay, take some screens of the color wheels and such, and delete the PT. I think it’s probably time to get back to HZD. I had tried just before this PT, but decided to keep playing MEA. There’s likely no way I’m starting from scratch, so I’ll pick up my HZD save from last week. It was very early in the game, so it will be easy to resume.
@upagain , you were correct about the medical supplies. I backtracked before encountering the bug and got to save Yeva. The “Backup Life Support” expendable works for you? They’ve never worked on PS4. There are the one expendable I’d have actually gotten some use out of, too.

Oh damn that sucks, I have never encountered that issue!!! The main bug I have had with the Architect on Voeld is that it sometimes gets stuck spawning the little bots 4 or more times in a row without giving you the option to shoot the conduits. I have never been able to get the Back Up LIfe Supports consumable to work, gave up trying after about the third or fourth PT.

I've nver encountered any bugs where labels have stayed on the screen. Yes, the Backup Life Support does seem to slow the depletion of the bar down a bit... particularly noticeable when I get the "super-fast" life support depletion bug I mentioned. It has literally made the difference between making it to that first heat lamp without dying. You have to apply it after leaving the nomad and it will cancel the moment you re-enter the nomad. I also used it to get through the Voeld vault this time and it noticeably lengthened the amount of time I was able to toggle the consoles before going back to toggle the shield. I would have to re-apply one each time I left the shield again though.
